Avoid or expect a huge surprise invoice when you turn in your car
I thought they were great but they are now trying to shake me down for thousands now that I've turned in my car. First, they overcharge for monthly fees. They want more than 1,000CHF per month for a VW or a Fiat and the prices jump exponentially if you go from the lowest KM package to a more practical 1,750km/mo package. Then, when you turn in the car they work with their thieving friends at the carosserie to charge you thousands for scratches. I had my car for THREE years and it had some curb rash on the alloy rims, and some small scratches from rocks, etc. Nothing major at all. No crashes, no dents, no missing parts, no cracks, nothing needed to be replaced, no bumpers needed to be repaired or repainted. Everything could have been fixed with some buffing and maybe one very small area needed some extra work. They are now trying to bill me nearly 4,000 CHF!!!! First of all, why would I pay so much money every month to rent a car only to end up paying basically a downpayment for some normal wear and tear? I could have leased my own car for that amount of money and paid less each month. So basically, they get you with the price gouging each month and then in the end they get their down payment from you by colluding with the garage to overcharge you for "repairs". They lie and say that there's a low deductible but then put in multiple claims so that you have to pay multiple deductibles. You have no conversation with the garage or insurance - they do all that behind your back and send you an inflated bill. Then, they're going to turn around and sell the car for a profit as the car is still beautiful and in great condition, while shifting the cosmetic costs onto you, the customer. I will never use them again and recommend you to avoid. It seems really convenient but for the longer term you're actually paying WAY more than you would to just lease or rent elsewhere. There are other companies with the same type of long-term leasing offers and they have nicer cars and better prices, like AMAG.
