I have a four year old BMW which means I have to pay to maintain ConnectedDrive and map updates. The map updates are poor. A new junction on the M11 that opned in June 2022 doesn't feature on the map in April 2023.
The new model cars will also have a subscription service for things like heated seats (£150 per year), and heated steering wheel (£100 per year). So you might buy a car with the hardware installed, i.e. you have paid for it, but then have to pay more every year to take advantage of it. It also applies to many of the safety features. Outrageous.
This would really put me off buying another BMW.
