I am utterly appalled by the unethical and deceptive practices I’ve experienced with Travelodeal, and I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from them to proceed with extreme caution.
1. Pressure to Accept Unfair Deals:
I purchased a Wowcher mystery holiday voucher for £129 each, with the intention of having a pleasant, relaxing holiday. After paying an additional £40 to change the location to Costa del Sol (a reasonable decision given the safety concerns with the original location), I was contacted by Sandra from Travelodeal, who pressured me into accepting a deal that I was clearly uncomfortable with. I was told that the deal would not be available unless I paid immediately and that it was the "best" offer available, despite the additional costs being unreasonably high.
2. Overcharging and Deceptive Pricing:
Sandra then informed me that I had to pay an additional £366 to secure the deal. When I later checked the prices online, I found that the same hotel could have been booked for £262 — meaning I was overcharged by £218.04. This is a clear case of price gouging and misrepresentation. I was charged far more than necessary for accommodation and flights that were not properly explained to me.
3. Unacceptable Request for My Personal Information:
Perhaps the most concerning part of this ordeal was when Sandra asked for my Ryaniar login details, which I absolutely refused to provide due to security concerns. Instead, she insisted I give her my email address, so she could create an account on my behalf, further raising serious privacy and data protection concerns. This is not only a massive breach of trust, but may also be a violation of GDPR laws.
4. Flight Booking Without My Explicit Consent:
Sandra then went ahead and booked middle-of-the-night flights for £183.96, without my consent or clear understanding of the costs involved. I was also given no opportunity to review or approve these bookings, further demonstrating their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer consent.
5. Widespread Customer Complaints:
Upon investigating this company further, I found that many others have had similarly dreadful experiences. Customers have reported being pressured to change negative reviews to positive ones in order to receive refunds, while others have arrived at hotels only to find that their bookings didn’t exist at all or hadn’t been paid for. This speaks volumes about the business ethics of Travelodeal.
LEGAL ACTION AND DEMAND FOR REFUND:
Given the amount of money I have been overcharged, the distress caused, and the possible legal violations involved (misrepresentation, data protection breach, unfair trading practices), I demand an immediate refund for the overcharge of £218.04 and for the unacceptable flight booking charges. If I do not receive a satisfactory response and resolution from this company within 14 days, I will pursue legal action through small claims court and report this matter to Trading Standards and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for investigation of potential breaches of consumer rights and data protection laws.
I strongly advise anyone considering using this company to avoid them at all costs. Their tactics are deceptive, their pricing is unethical, and their customer service is extremely aggressive. Don’t let yourself fall victim to the same poor treatment I received. Legal action is my next step if this isn’t resolved immediately.

Sandra is very helpful over the phone call. And she is actually looking where I can save some for my holiday. Over all Sandra is great.
I had a great experience booking through Adrian. He was very helpful and patient because my friend and I asked a lot of questions and he helped us make some changes.
Was ok he helped but not after trying to get more fees for the holiday I originally booked wanted more money and when a said no I’d cancel he found me a holiday which I paid £40 extra for felt it’s all about extra add on fees
Sandra was very helpful in finding the nearest hotel to our point of interest (Xmas markets).
The experience was good… albeit a little under pressure to read through the details and agree to everything before the call ended..
Very clear and precise, got it booked seemlessly

Mixed Feelings - Great Customer Service - Terrible Policies.
I booked an experience with Travelodeal (Mystery Christmas Market) and ended up with Milan - no problems here. Total Price Paid £604 (including £198 for the voucher) which is about 35% more to book independently for the same flights + hotel (If I booked myself then: total flight costs were £220, Hotel Neo £178 (total £398) but I do understand Travelodeal are a business and there are margins.
The one thing I did not like about the experience was the hotel selection:
Hotel location was AWFUL as was refund policy for the hotel portion - yes it's 4* but was not great transport wise nor was I able to get a suitable hotel that was included near good public transport (Metro) when I called to ask to change there wasn't much they could do. The hotel was about 4 miles away from the city centre and a couple of miles from Metro. In the end I asked for a refund for the Hotel portion as it was genuinely easier to book one closer and to my budget for Milan so I was a bit disappointed with only offering £100 refund despite it being 30+ days when requested. When I look at the selected Hotel (Hotel Neo) on Booking.com - they offer free cancellation as standard so I was very disappointed to hear that the offer was only £100 rather than the full portion for the Hotel as I believe the full amount should have been offered instead.
In summary, while it was a bit fun to reveal a mystery experience - it's probably a lot cheaper just to use the flight vouchers and book a hotel separately as the supplements are quite expensive on top. The reps were really good - because they followed up on items, kept me informed etc so I can't complain there, hence my mixed feelings. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it if you're after the value proposition, but if you don't mind paying up to 35% more for the travel agent then I would recommend.
NATHAN was very helpful and knowledgeable. Made the booking experience very easy.

Charlie went above and beyond to help me with scheduling this trip. He kept checking different airlines, flights and days from different nearby airports to find me the flights that got me to
Milan in the morning to make the most of our first day. And he recommended flying out of a different regional airport that was closer to our hotel to allow us to sleep in longer before having to leave Italy. He was also very patient when I would ask for time to consult with my wife on different options.
