My experience with this company has been incredible. I have a couple of dogs who "don't play well with others" and Sniffspot is the perfect solution. I found that the property descriptions are quite accurate and there is a nice variety of Spots available. The hosts that I've encountered are very nice and respectful of your private time with your buddies. If you need to communicate with them, they get back to you right away and many of them provide amenities to help you and your fur- babies enjoy your visit. I can't recommend Sniffspot enough!! We all want our pups to be able to run free and play and this gives them the chance to.

I am a host for sniffspot. I will say it is a neat idea and I have had no problems with my guests. My problem is with the company. It is impossible to get paid. They require you to use stripe.com which is a horrible company that is not user-friendly and does not pay you what you earned.

I just signed up for this service thinking it was a great idea. Went to my first location and the people did not even know about it. I literally trespassed on someone's property. There should be a verification or confirmation by the homeowner/host not just by the app. What prevents somebody signing up somebody's home illegally. Needless to say, I canceled my subscription. Thank goodness it was just the trial that was used.

⚠️ Safety concerns with this app's "safe" off-leash locations. Within 15 minutes, my dog nearly got onto the highway due to lack of fencing. The property bordered a neighbor with farm equipment and a loose dog, plus a hidden orchard attracting deer, bears, and a family of cougars denning at the location— I was almost hit by a frightened deer myself.
If a platform advertises locations as safe, these risks should be disclosed upfront. Do your research before booking

Last year, sniff spot was great and we went weekly. This year, we haven’t been able to go at all -the last time I looked on sniff spot in my area, I had two choices that were not doable. That is all I had on the sniff spot app for places in my area. I am in central, New York. They keep sending me places to go in, Los Angeles, Ohio, Etc. I was on a seven day trial with 40 credits. I went to one sniff spot with my dogs and the gate was locked. They say they never took my credits, but I have none left for future visits. I won’t pay for something like this. The idea is great, but they don’t know how to handle the business, and when it comes down to pay, it would be a real rip off.

Why on earth am I shown the price for a Canadian location - then on my credit card there is a conversion to US dollar amount which is much higher??? Both illogical and deliberately misleading.
Note: Actual dog play/walk location was great - overly complicated system for membership, credits, additional payment - not worth the frustration.

I absolutely love Sniffspot and think it’s genius for a number of reasons! At first I was a little unhappy with the subscription style they went to but knowing I can cancel at anytime and my credits are good for two months after makes me happy. With the amount of off leash dogs in public that have zero recall on the rise, I love that I can bring my puppy to a Sniffspot and have 100% peace of mind that we won’t encounter any other dogs. Since we travel and live on the road in a camper it lets me take my puppy somewhere he can run free and burn off energy while I have peace of mind he won’t get out. The app is super easy to use and I like the filtering options. Honestly, there isn’t a single thing I’d change about it!

We have visited several Sniff Spots in the past four years. They are a great alternative to dog parks. We have an Australian Shepherd who loves to herd and bark so she doesn't make a lot of friends at the dog park. Our other dog is an energetic hound mix that needs to run without the constraints of a leash. We have a fenced in yard so we always look for a spot that has more than a half acre and is fully fenced. This sometimes mean driving 30 to 40 minutes outside the city we live. It is so worth it! I just wish there were more spots that meet our criteria closer to us. We have found all Spot owners to be more than accomodating. They provide shade for all of us, water and toys for the dogs, and chairs for us. It's a great opportunity for us to get exercise too! I consider the spots we've visited to be very well priced and safe for all of us.

I enrolled in the 7-day trial membership. Had a good experience at a Sniffspot in Santa Barbara so decided to let the monthly Bronze Membership ($20/month) move forward. Sniffspot immediately billed me $20 on June 30 and $20 on July 1. They have no customer service via phone so the only alternative is to send an email. When I sent the email on July 2, I received this reply:
"We're currently working through a higher-than-usual volume of requests. At this time, we're responding to messages received on June 14th, and all emails are handled in the order they're received."
So they are almost 3 weeks behind on requests including erroneous double billings. I will be reaching out to my credit card company to ask that they credit my account and recoup the erroneous charge. Beware and be sure to check your credit card statements.
Update: Despite telling me they were 3 weeks behind in processing, I received a same day reply where Nina the rep appears to justify the double and yet refunds one of the duplicate charges. Here’s the email:
“Sniffpass subscription renewals happen on the first of every month. Your subscription was started in the last week of June (me: that is, the last day of the month) and the renewal happened on the 1st of July. Your card was charged for the renewal and you were issued renewal credits during renewal. As a show of good faith, we have refunded you in full for the renewal charges and cancelled the credits associated with it.”
I will keep an eye out for the credit to my card.

I think this is the greatest gift for dog owners that have reactive dogs that cannot go to dog parks ... plus it is safer ...less chance of picking anything up. Also if you do not have a pool. this is the place to go to. One hour of swimming and my dog is tired for the whole afternoon and evening. Also you can invite other friends to go with you and their dogs ... Every sniffspot I have rented has been super clean and safe for me and my dog.

My pup and I have used Sniffspot probably 2-3x a week for the last 4 years. It has been a great way to explore new spots, let her safely run around and hang out with friends with dogs. I don't trust dog parks or dog bars and love that we have a safe option to use that is fairly priced. We also use it whenever we go out of town, it's really handy for road trips! We love SniffSpot and are so thankful it exists.

I have two chihuahuas who are reactive to other dogs and people. I do walk them but that can be challenging, obviously because of their reactivity. One day o saw an ad on YouTube for Sniffspot. I went to their site and read all about it and purchased a membership. It was so easy and affordable and the experience for my dogs and for me is priceless! It makes me so happy to be able to take my dogs out to a spot that is safe and clean and let them do their thing off leash. They really enjoy it so much. Hats off to Sniffspot!!

Woke up to a notification from my bank that Sniffspot took 275$ out of my account that was NOT authorized!! I did their trial and was not impressed with the park we went to and have ZERO interest in ever booking with them again. I’m currently dealing with the bank and Sniffspot to get my money back !! Be careful with that app!!

I've been a long time supporter of sniffspot but it has gone massively downhill since they started to require memberships. I've just logged in to my long time account only to discover I now need a membership to book any spots. Reading others experience with credits, I will not be going through this system

The concept itself is great and so meaningful to me and my dog, however the user experience on your platform/app make it difficult and most of the time impossible to book a spot. Constantly crashing app, unable to log in, not receiving "forgot your password" emails, extremely unresponsive customer support center and now completing unable to book a spot at all. So kind of deserves zero stars for execution on a great idea.

This service is great for me. I watch my daughter's energetic Jack Russell every weekday. My condo and walks simply are not enough for him. Sniffspot allows me to give him inexpensive time every week in a nearby yard to run, sniff, and explore. I love the service and so does our pup.

So grateful we have this for our reactive dogs! A lifesaver and love how transparent the reviews are for spots so you lnow what you're getting with the space. We foster dogs and have loved giving those pups more space too while we learn about them and their needs. Love Sniffspot!

tldr; Don't sign up for a membership, just buy credits and use them immediately.
I was a paying member for 8 months. Everything was great, until the Sniffspot app told me that I didn't have a membership, despite me having paid for the month already. I was not able to use any credits or book any spots. I contacted Sniffspot support and didn't hear back for several weeks, by which time all the credits I had paid for, 63 to be exact, were wiped out. Even better, the agent told me that she could see I had paid for the months and my issue was completely fixed and I could use my 63 credits at any time. I have not gotten any response to any of my followup emails and support messages after that first one.
