⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Birthday Weekend Gem – We visited 2 nights in a row!

We visited The Pearl & Trawl during my recent birthday long weekend away, and honestly—We ended up going back 2 days in a row, which says everything.

First off, the food across the board was consistently excellent, I am gluten-free and the menu is incredible and both meals I tried were full of flavour and beautifully presented. It made such a difference being able to relax and enjoy proper meals without worrying.

The atmosphere was warm and stylish, with that cosy-modern pub feel that makes you feel so comfortable and not at all rushed to leave.

There’s also a great social vibe in the evenings, with regular entertainment like quiz nights and bingo, which adds to the overall experience and makes it feel like a real local favourite.

A huge bonus for us: it’s incredibly dog-friendly. There’s even a thoughtful doggie station with water and treats, so our two were made to feel just as welcome as we were.

But what really stood out was the service—especially Chelsea, who was absolutely amazing. She remembered I was gluten-free when we returned the second evening and handed me the menu without me even needing to ask. That kind of attention to detail is rare and genuinely appreciated.

If you’re in Wadebridge, don’t miss this place. We’ll 100% be back again.

Great Service and Food

Great, attentive, friendly service from Stephanie and a really nice meal - good portion size, well put together and very tasty. With the current promotion of 30% off main courses, it was very good value.

A bit on the pricy side

Called in as was passing by and needed some food however would probably not bother again as it is expensive for what we had and the bar prices even worse.
We had a sober driver who was drinking tea or a soft drink while we sampled the poor quality overpriced draft beers and ciders.
Did not see a bar tariff behind the bar anywhere so had to ask for prices and hard to accept a 4.2% beer was £6 which is expensive in anyones view.
Bar staff were not knowledgable about the beers nor on the day we went (mid week) seemed to be too interested with little interraction. The impression given was that the staff were trying to earn some money but offered little customer service in return as we felt young and inexperienced only. If not reliant on EPOS they would be stuffed.
We found out a small pot of tea was £3.50 which is expensive anywhere for a single tea bag and hot water.
Food was Ok and oddly priced but we feel microwaved or steamed but certainly pre-prepared so not directly fresh. Table staff seemed over attentive and bar staff under attentive and it was a quiet evenng.
Toilets were clean and there was decent free parking on site however we will look for other places to eat which actually serve fresh food before we return.
Research showed up this is a Marstons run property which could explain the high prices and lack of atmosphere.
Travelodge available on site if needed but no ideas of prices as we went home.
