My tasked cancelled 4 hours before the scheduled time, but it was in the morning so I was unable to see it on time. I don't understand why Taskrabbit didn't assign me with a new tasked since they automatically assigned the first one (this was booking with IKEA). Since I saw it too late, taskrabbit cancelled my scheduled time and decided to not allow me to reschedule for today. I am extremely annoyed as I have no time this week and I don't want to make anyone work on Labor Day. Incredibly disappointed with this system and IKEA.

If I could give zero stars I would. Went with my pregnant wife to be and spent a load of money only to be threatened by physical violence and threats from a trolley assistant. The management pulled the surveillance footage, saw the incident and admitted to the violent behaviour but did absolutely nothing about it. Disgusting management in IKEA Estonia and that had put me off of IKEA after being a customer all my life.

Appalling lying staff and an appalling company overall
Negative 5 stars
I would have awarded -5 stars if I could have. Through no fault of mine (IKEA did not send the promised email), nor is their map location correct. I have a screen shot of the alleged design planning location in Galway which according to Apple is 6km out! I eventually got through to IKEA's Dublin number and they were no help, they only said they would pass on I was on my way. When I eventually found the store after the nightmare that is Galway traffic, no one at the store knew anything, and basically said the time slot was gone and tough luck! I did try IKEA's online planning tool, but its useless. The whole point of making an appointment. Great if you live locally but a 250km round trip wasted is not what I hoped to achieve today. I guess this is going to be a tilt at a windmill as I can see from the other reviews of IKEA they are inundated with complaints. They're making loads of dosh and they don't care.
IKEA WON'T REIMBURSE ME
I had to canceled a gift card (that was the only choice they offered me because couldn't fix the issue). Since then they told me
1) you will get a reimbursement in 24hs - never happened
2) after two weeks: on the chat they told me to contact the geschenkarte team via email - they never replied
3) after three emails they never replied I reached out again the chat. They told me they "escalated the issue to a specialized team and I'd get a reply in 24-48hs" - never happened
4) reached out again on the chat. They told me they will do my reimbursement in 5-7 days - It never happened
5) they told me to go to the nearest store to get it fixed

Had three replacements of draws delivered and yet again the draws are damaged. This is total rubbish. Aside from time consuming and having to keep rearranging the deliveries. I would recommend you NEVER get Ikea to deliver your goods . The couriers have no interest in the damage either.
The Norwich store is like a tip
The Norwich store is like a secondhand store/junk shop. In the area where the beds were displayed it looked as though people had been dossing down on them: duvets all akimbo, cushions/pillows on the floor etc.The rest of the store had stuff piled up all over the place. In the Checkout Area they only have supermarket style small self checkout tills - not much use for large items (we had a big rolled up rug). I've been shopping in Ikea for 30 years in Poland, Spain and the UK and never seen a store like this. Have they forgotten to employ a manager?
Customer service is a joke and products are shoddy
I don't know why I do it to myself. The customer service is horrific, and the quality of products is poor. It's fine for smaller things like cushion covers and glasses, but anything more substantial just seems to be awful quality. My IKEA sofa turned up with missing pieces and it took more than six months to resolve, by which time some elements had failed and they refused to replace. I also bought a parasol which has a tiny screw fail after three months of use, but they wouldn't give me a new screw, tell me the dimensions so I could buy a new one, or replace the item. Three months of use of something they call "durable" and designed for outside use is a joke. Customer service was very unhelpful on both counts and we ended up doing charge backs for both items. However the time and effort it required for simple things just wasn't worth it.
I'd actively discourage anyone from buying from them for large items.
I had the most fantastic experience…
I had the most fantastic experience shopping at IKEA of Tampa. The best part was when I was checking out. I had purchased numerous things (furniture), and the check out was difícil due to the amount of boxes and that they only have self-check-out. Emma went beyond the call of duty and helped me. She was exceptional helpful and kind!
Horrid experience.
I revived partial delivery today
I revived partial delivery today. It was to be delivered to my apartment. To start the delivery person argued with me he wouldn’t deliver to my second floor apartment but wanted to leave it in the entrance hallways. Then I offered to help carry the product. We carried one large box to the second floor while his colleague sat in the van
He told me his colleagues will help with the rest.
I continued to work on my laptop then they drove off!
Some boxes were left in the entrance hall to the block. I carried those to my apartment myself. I did not receive 2 kallex products (which I noticed immediately) just realised there is no arm for my jattebo sofa and then I had to build the wardrobe before I knew if anything was missing because no one could tell me how many boxes I was supposed to have.
I’m left with bruises on my arm from carrying boxes out of a public space that state they need 2 persons to lift. I had no other option.
Never had a more terrible experience
Exceptional service
UPDATE – Still no solution from IKEA, and now no follow-up from their transport partner either
I am updating my review because unfortunately, IKEA still has not resolved my issue or taken any meaningful responsibility.
To recap: I placed an IKEA order in France worth approximately €3,400. The first delivery consisted of 47 packages. I signed the delivery document in good faith, believing the delivery was complete.
When the IKEA assembly team came approximately one week later, they discovered that two large wardrobe doors were missing, worth approximately €260.
Instead of investigating the situation with their transport partner, TRUSK, IKEA France told me that because I had signed the delivery document, I should go to the police and file a complaint.
This response was already extremely disappointing.
I then escalated the matter to IKEA Sweden, hoping that someone would finally take ownership of the situation. Unfortunately, IKEA has still not provided a real solution.
TRUSK subsequently told me that they would check with their warehouse regarding the missing doors. That was 5 days ago.
And since then? Nothing. No update. No explanation. No solution.
This is becoming completely unacceptable.
I am not asking IKEA for something for free. I paid approximately €3,400 for my furniture, and I am simply asking for two essential wardrobe doors that were never delivered.
What is particularly frustrating is the complete lack of ownership between IKEA and its transport partner. IKEA refers to the signed delivery document, while TRUSK is supposedly investigating the warehouse — and the customer is left in the middle with no solution and no meaningful communication.
A customer receiving 47 packages cannot reasonably be expected to identify immediately that two large components hidden within a large furniture delivery are missing, especially when the transporter does not provide a detailed item-by-item document allowing the customer to verify every component at the time of delivery.
Mistakes in logistics can happen. The real problem is how IKEA handles the mistake afterwards.
After spending €3,400 with IKEA, I expected the company to investigate the matter properly, communicate with its logistics partner and find a solution.
Instead, I have had to repeatedly chase both IKEA and TRUSK myself.
IKEA France: no real ownership.
IKEA Sweden: no effective resolution.
TRUSK: now 5 days without an update.
This is simply not the level of customer service I expected from IKEA.
I am still waiting for IKEA and TRUSK to resolve this matter and provide the two missing wardrobe doors that I have already paid for.
IKEA, please take responsibility for your customer and resolve this.
Inconsiderate & incompetent from start to finish
I bought a very simple kitchen cabinet with Ikea in NY, the customer service was terrible, rude and basically didn't seem to know what they were doing. The person who came to measure my kitchen was also rude, mono syllabic and offended by any questions I had. They also did not measure correctly! When install day finally arrived, there were pieces missing and the installer did not have the information he needed (this after 3.5hrs of me waiting for him to figure out what needed to be done). The install person, very kind, said it was his first time also. All in all, an expensive and awful experience, highly unprofessional. The tone has been, from beginning to end, that Ikea does not know what they're doing, are relying on me knowing what they're doing and are happy to be paid for it. Oh, the person who handed me parts, in the Ikea store also got it wrong and was rude.
Delivery
I paid IKEA to deliver my furniture to my room, but on the scheduled delivery day the driver arrived, saw the narrow staircase and immediately refused to deliver the order. He did not seem genuinely willing to look for a solution or even make a proper attempt.
I was never clearly informed during the ordering process that I would need to arrange an external lift myself. I am new to Amsterdam and had no idea that this could be required.
Now, because of this failed delivery, IKEA has told me that the next available delivery is only on 9 September. I have just moved into the apartment with three other people and currently have clothes and belongings everywhere because I don’t have the furniture I paid for.
This is an extremely frustrating situation. I paid for a delivery service and expected IKEA to provide a properly organised delivery solution. Instead, I am now being told to wait more than a week.
I hope IKEA takes responsibility for this situation and provides an urgent solution instead of simply telling me to wait until 9 September.
poor delivery, left mud up the stairs, refused to take mattress up!
We had a bed delivered and one of the reasons we chose IKEA was they delivered to the room. When the really scruffy delivery men arrived they took the bed base to the bedroom, and then refused to take he mattress up due to "health and Safety" they let mud all up the stairs as well.
IKEA bad bad bad
Yesterday I bought an item from IKEA. I paid in advance (click and collect) to reserve the item. The item was in stock when I ordered it. I was due to pick it up this morning. I waited for an email to tell me it was ready to collect. Instead I received an email telling me the order has been cancelled. No reason was given. I called customer services and after waiting on hold for 20 minutes I eventually managed to pry out of the agent that they didn't have the item in stock. I have now been informed that my money will be refunded within 14 days. When I pointed out that their system told me they had the item in stock and they should have reserved it, I was told some BS about their terms and conditions. I am shocked that such a large company has such poor stock control. What's even more shocking is the sheer volume of bad reviews on trustpilot. I have completely lost faith in IKEA and will never buy from them again.
Disaster from start to finish
Upon delivery of our wardrobes on 18th August, two male delivery drivers told us that the Taskrabbit joiner (which we had booked in for the 20th August to put the wardrobe together) would not want all of the pieces in the bedroom, as he would need space to fit everything together. They therefore instructed us to put the wardrobe doors in the bedroom (where the wardrobe was going to be fitted) and the remaining pieces in the garage. We were told that the joiner would be happy to bring the pieces upstairs as and when they were needed.
The following day, we received a text message from the Taskrabbit joiner informing us that he needed all of the wardrobe pieces in the bedroom and that the delivery drivers had given us incorrect information, apparently to make their own job easier. He said that he could move the pieces from the garage to the bedroom, but that we would be personally charged extra for this.
We’d already paid £250 for this fitting service!!! As I needed help to move them, I had to ask my 70 year old father, who has a heart condition, to help me maneuver the remaining extremely heavy pieces from the garage to the bedroom.
We also received a confirmation text on the 19th August, stating that the joiner would arrive at 8am. Based on this, I informed my workplace that I would be returning to the office in the afternoon. However, the joiner did not arrive until 1:20pm, over five hours later than the scheduled time. Very frustrating!!
Further issues included a drawer that was delivered snapped, and we discovered that two hanging rails and four storage boxes were missing.
After we complained, replacement items were sent a few days later. However, only three storage boxes were sent instead of the four that were missing.
We then had another Taskrabbit joiner booked for Thursday 27th August to fit the replacement drawer and hanging rails. However, we received a message from him stating that he “couldn’t fit us in today”, with no further communication or attempt to rearrange the appointment. This has meant that, despite paying £250 for a full fitting service, we have been left having to fit the final pieces ourselves.
To make matters worse, we were also told that we would receive a phone call to discuss our complaint, but we have heard nothing.
The service we have received has been completely unacceptable from start to finish. We paid over £1500 for the wardrobe and delivery plus £250 for a full fitting service, yet we were given incorrect instructions by the delivery team, had to move extremely heavy furniture ourselves, lost a full day's annual leave due to the fitter arriving over five hours late, received damaged and missing items, were sent an incomplete replacement order, and have ultimately been left to complete part of the fitting ourselves.
We’ve sent an email to the complaints department- have not even received an acknowledgment of receipt , so lord knows how long it will take for a response!
I’m giving a two star because the first task rabbit joiner did a great job of putting the wardrobes together and they do look good!
Pre-paid €1,191.30 for a kitchen installation. IKEA ghosted me, left me without a kitchen, and locked me in a German-only customer service loop.
I am writing this review out of sheer frustration with IKEA Germany’s catastrophic logistics and non-existent customer support for expats.
I pre-paid a massive fee of €1,191.30 for a full kitchen installation scheduled for Saturday, August 29th. IKEA assigned a ridiculous 14-hour waiting slot between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. At 10:30 AM, I received a phone call from IKEA confirming my address and ensuring I was home because the team was on their way. I stayed trapped in my apartment all day. No one ever arrived. No one called to explain. IKEA completely ghosted me.
On Monday morning, having heard nothing, I tried to resolve this. Because I moved to Germany for work and do not speak fluent German yet, I faced a bureaucratic wall. The phone helpline flatly refused to speak English and told me to use the online chat.
When I finally got through to the online chat, the agent casually informed me that my installation failed due to an "unexpected issue." Their only solution? Reschedule for September 21st—forcing me to live another 3 weeks in a brand-new apartment with absolutely no kitchen. When I asked if IKEA would compensate for my takeout expenses, I was denied.
To make this completely absurd, the chat agent then told me they lacked the authority to expedite my case, could not request an English-speaking callback, and told me to call the exact same German-only phone hotline that had already rejected me. The final suggestion was for me to visit a physical store to "try my luck," completely ignoring that I work full-time and do not own a car to haul myself to an IKEA warehouse.
IKEA has taken my €1,191.30, failed to deliver the service, trapped me in a language barrier loop, and expects me to live for almost 2 months without a functioning kitchen. I demand that a senior manager from IKEA Germany's kitchen team contacts me immediately in English to fast-track my installation this week.

IKEA’s own designer & fitter failed us—costing £570 extra and total stonewalling
Do not use IKEA’s kitchen service. We paid for IKEA's official home measurement service, had an in-person design consultation in-store, and booked IKEA’s official installation service to manage the project from start to finish.
Despite this, IKEA delivered a deeply flawed, unsafe layout. They placed our built-in microwave unit 5 feet off the ground with the controls sitting at 5ft 11in—when I am only 5ft 3in. Pulling boiling-hot food out above eye level is a severe safety hazard that the designer completely ignored and failed to disclose. The top units were also placed out of ergonomic reach, making even the bottom shelves difficult to use comfortably.
Now, IKEA’s own official fitter has had to quote an extra £570 in remedial labor and modifications just to lower the height by 3 inches to make their design somewhat workable.
Instead of taking responsibility for their designer’s failure, IKEA customer service has stonewalled us. I have spent 4.5 hours on the phone across 3 separate attempts. They failed to escalate or call back three times, and on the first attempt, they didn't even bother raising a formal case number.
We are currently living out of a makeshift setup with two young children, facing build delays, and absorbing extra costs caused entirely by IKEA's negligence.
A Section 75 claim is now being submitted through our credit provider. Save yourself the stress—disgraceful service from start to finish.
