Good content and instructor but inflexible course

The course has good content and nice that there are many locations. The midwife Maisie who is leading the in person session is knowledgeable and awesome as well.

Downside is that they are totally inflexible given the amount of money we paid - whilst parallel in person sessions are running in venues close by on different days they don’t allow a single session swap…. this means that couples tend to miss at least one session if they had prior commitments without compensation.

Organisation wise, our experience wasn’t amazing - HPHB stuffed up their venue for one session via a double booking and the so called solution was poor - adding an extra ‘social’ without free drinks at the end of the course, and swapping round sessions meaning the “free online content session” would always take place ahead of the practical session & lead us scrambling to do pre-reading over the span of 2 days (instead of having a full weekend to prepare for the week ahead).

All in all a poorly organised and inflexible course, however good content and the people we met on the course were nice.

Really poor experience with HPHB. Recommend avoiding, to be on the safe side.

Really poor experience with HPHB, and I would recommend avoiding them to be on the safe side. They cancelled our classes last minute, and then completely refused to work with us to try to achieve a compromise where we could still try to make local connections, which was the whole point of the course as we are new to the area. Sam and Harriet refused to share our contact details with others, or ask others for permission to share their details with us, so we could still try to make local connections. They offered the online course instead, which doesn’t have any opportunity for meeting people. Incredibly poor treatment of people who placed their trust in them during an incredibly important time.

If you want to make connections (as is the main reason for people who sign up to ante-natal classes), I would strongly recommend going with another provider - Bump and Baby or NCT are good.

An Excellent Course for First-Time Parents

We attended the Happy Parents Happy Baby course in June, and it was such a worthwhile experience. We learned so much and came away feeling much more prepared and confident about becoming parents.

The practical sessions were excellent and really helped bring everything to life, while the group discussions were informative, engaging and gave everyone the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.

One of the biggest highlights was meeting so many lovely local people who are at the same stage of life as us. It’s been a fantastic way to start building a support network before our baby arrives.

Unwelcoming space for non traditional set ups

If you’re queer or a solo parent this is not the group for you!

It’s been years since I’ve been in such an unwelcoming environment. I really advise anyone in a non traditional set up to think again.

10/10, no notes

My husband and I signed up to the Happy Parents Happy Baby classes ahead of our first born. It was a great opportunity to build confidence between us, as well as to meet local parents on the same journey and timeline as us, who have already become an amazing support network.

Our classes were led by Megan, a midwife in Weybridge who was engaging, personable, non-judgemental and reassuring.

I couldn’t recommend this course enough, it is one of the best things we’ve invested in as new parents.

We had a great experience with HPHB (Bethnal Green). We found the materials provided very clear and informative and the in-person sessions with Ali were great and really fun. I think being in a pub made it more informal and relaxing for people to mingle before class. Would highly recommend !

The antenatal classes with Happy Parents Happy Baby were excellent. They really helped me feel more prepared for labour and for when baby arrives. Each session was informative but not overwhelming and was explained in a way that I understood.

It was also really nice to meet other parents to be and connect with a new community.

I highly recommend attending the antenatal classes. Well worth every penny :)

Excellent Antenatal Classes!

My wife and I went to the Happy Parents Happy Baby antenatal classes as The Village Hotel in Maidstone. The course was ran by Lacey. She was exceptionally insightful, friendly and warm. She made it very easy for all of us nervous new-to-be parents to relax and enjoy each other’s company whilst learning some very valuable and important lessons.

I can’t recommend this company and their products highly enough! It and Lacey especially has given my wife and I a real sense of calm and knowledge that things will be just fine! That feeling is priceless!

Thanks again for everything.

No diversity

No diversity, all teachers are Caucasian, lessons are in pub premisess - so not attracting diversity or multicultural parents of different backgrounds and ethnicities.

I had a brilliant experience with HPHB

I had a brilliant experience with HPHB, my birth was not exactly the birth preferences I had in mind, but thanks to HPHB I felt prepared and ready to do what was needed to deliver my baby safely. I have also loved the community of parents it has provided us with. Hypnobirthing and first aid were really useful courses and not offered on all antenatal course providers. The midwives we met who ran the sessions were kind, open minded, position and knowledgeable.

Thank you HPHP!!

Relaxed and informative

We really enjoyed HPHB! The atmosphere was relaxed and open, and the instructor had loads of personal experience as a midwife which really showed when they were talking through difficult topics. There was a lot of really useful information and lots of chances to have a go a practical things. The online Q&As we're then perfect after going away and thinking about the things we'd learned. I'd recommend this to any first time parents-to-be!

I would recommend these antenatal classes to anyone

Ante natal classes were interesting. I appreciated the opportunity to practice things like preparing formula, swaddling, changing nappies or even cardiac massage on babies with other parents and with a midwife guiding us through all of the activities. I would recommend this classes as it can also be an opportunity to ask questions to an expert or benefit from question other people ask. It's good that you have the online portal were you can watch all the topic discussed during the class. The online Q&A is a good plus as you get more chances to ask other questions to experts in case you have or expand more on the topics discussed during the class.

My partner and I went to a course in Brighton, and the best part was all the practical advice on looking after a baby, helping them and feeding them. It was really interesting to watch the theory videos before class and then practice that in person with dolls and special items and if I had any questions after I could just join the online Q&A. Plus, meeting other parents-to-be like us made everything even better, as I don’t have many friends with children, so having this community feels really reassuring.

Comforting, informative and engaging

We signed up to the May antenatal courses and are due at the end of June. We chose this course due to the location being central Newcastle and the sessions were spread out rather than a full Saturday here and there which would not have suited us. The other couples on the course were all due around June/July time so straight away it was lovely being in a room full of other people in exactly the same position as us.
The sessions all took place in a central location in Newcastle on a weekday evening. The timings were 7pm-9pm which was a little awkward/late but we used it as an excuse to go out for tea and enjoy some time together before baby is here (which we are likely to have less time to do then!!)
Each week there were online materials to read, print out or watch. We found these really helped to cement the knowledge given by Bryony in the sessions.
The weekly sessions were great, personally we found the first session about types of labour very comforting and helped us both to feel relaxed going forward as we are educated on every eventuality so can make informed decisions. Bryony was able to use professional and personal experience throughout all the sessions which I loved and felt comforted by.
The practical sessions about baby care and first aid were great - lots of fun but also so useful for first time parents. There was no pressure. Each practical session was done on a carousel so you got a chance to meet the other couples and help each other along the way.
The social was an added bonus that we thoroughly enjoyed and cannot wait to get together again with the other couples for our baby reunion.
The preparation materials have also helped us to prepare practically for baby with regards to shopping lists, birth plans and hospital bag lists.
All in all I would recommend this to anyone having their first baby - it was relaxed but informative and meeting other parents to be who feel the same as you just helped put our mind at ease. Our parents have just signed up to the grandparent course too!

A Brilliant Course That Gave Us Confidence for Parenthood

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience with Happy Parents Happy Baby and would highly recommend their sessions to any expectant parents.

The classes were incredibly beneficial, informative, and reassuring throughout our pregnancy journey. Every session was well organised, engaging, and packed with useful information that helped us feel more confident and prepared for welcoming our baby girl in July.

A special mention has to go to Lucy Clark, our course instructor, who was absolutely fantastic. She was so friendly, approachable, and supportive throughout the course. Lucy ran each session brilliantly, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable asking questions. Her knowledge and expertise were exceptional, and she always took the time to explain things clearly and thoroughly, helping to put our minds at ease.

The support, advice, and practical guidance we received were invaluable, and it was also lovely to meet other parents-to-be who were sharing the same experience. The sessions covered everything we needed to know in a friendly and approachable way, making what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming time much more enjoyable and manageable.

We are so grateful for everything we learned and would not hesitate to recommend Happy Parents Happy Baby to any friends or family who are expecting. It was one of the best investments we made during our pregnancy, and we came away feeling informed, empowered, and excited for parenthood. Thank you, Lucy, and the whole Happy Parents Happy Baby team for such a positive and memorable experience ☺️

Thoroughly recommend HPHB to anyone having a baby!

The course was brilliant - the classes were very informative and helpful, and the online material is very in depth and covers a lot of additional things the class didn’t have time for. Our course leader Lauren was brilliant, super helpful, inclusive and friendly. Overall the course made us feel a lot more positive and relaxed about the birth, and dealing with actually having a baby!

Is been very helpful for a first time mum

Is been very helpful for a first time mum like me that wants to feel fully prepared before my baby girl comes. Every topic that we’ve gone through in every class has made me more comfortable and ready to be best I can.
On top of that, is been a great opportunity to meet lovely people that are on the same situation as you and is lovely to share experiences and potentially find new mum friends. Definitely recommend it! Thank you
