We had an amazing week! While we signed up for sea turtles, we also helped clean beaches, and we had fun adventures like surfing, and bike rides. We loved the food and the accommodations.
We shared the experience with another family we didn’t know at the onset and left with friends in another country!
We would volunteer with GoEco again!
I really enjoyed my volunteering program . Got to live the boat life , meet new people and have new experiences. I am very grateful that I had this adventure and met all the amazing people
The GoEco team made organizing the trip a very smooth experience. I had many questions and needed to change the dates a couple of times, and the team handled every request quickly and helpfully.
I also appreciated the gentle reminders when I was late submitting the required documents—never pushy, just polite and helpful.
I would highly recommend GoEco and will definitely use them again for my next volunteer trip.

My time in Costa rica was incredible and I enjoyed every minute of it. I stayed there for three weeks and met so many amaizing people. The nature is something I’ve never seen before and I miss it so much right now. I was scared about the food, becouse I was told mamy people get sick, but I honestly loved every food that we had there and I never felt sick from it. Overall I definitely recommend.

The program was really great about making sure we had everything we needed, proper transportation, and they were in communication with us the whole trip. Our guide, Alejandra, made sure we were all safe and having a good time. The country was beautiful, and everyone in my group got along really well, and I made some good friends. The work during our stay at CIRENAS felt impactful and the staff were super welcoming. Overall this trip was an amazing experience, and I would definitely travel with GoEco again.

I have been to Japan over 30 times and 5 times have been with my granddaughter. She was 12 this year and I wanted her to delve a little deeper into Japan, and so did I. I found the World Unite project through GoEco and I am so glad I did. Although it was highlighted as a family trip, there were no other children there, but it didn't matter at all. Our hosts, Jeanne and Rosie, made my granddaughter so comfortable and treated her with comraderie and respect. So did all the other guests, who were all wonderful. Within a day we were all sharing so much--our stories, our laughter, and our deep appreciation for Sado.
I have always loved Japanese temples, but the chance to live on the grounds of one, and come to know it deeply, was incredibly precious to me. I wandered the grounds daily. We loved all the projects we were involved with and the people we met were so kind and appreciative of our small contribution. Our accommodations were very comfortable and exceeded our expectations. The meals provides were ample, locally sourced, and delicious.Thank you Rosie, Jeanne, World Unite, and GoEco for giving us such a poitive, productive, and socially and historically rich experiece!

I had a wonderful experience volunteering in Bali, and I’m very grateful to GoEco for connecting me with The Green Lion and making this opportunity possible.
The experience itself was incredibly meaningful. I had the opportunity to volunteer with the turtle conservation program while also experiencing Balinese culture in a way I never would have as a typical tourist. From visiting temples and learning about local traditions to witnessing important cultural and spiritual celebrations, there were so many moments that made the trip special. The local staff were welcoming, and I came home feeling that I had experienced something truly unique.
The one thing I wish I had understood better beforehand was the age demographic of the volunteer group. Most of the other volunteers were quite young, and at times the atmosphere and level of maturity reflected that. As a mature adult volunteer, I occasionally felt a little out of place. I think it would be helpful for GoEco to give prospective volunteers a clearer idea of the typical age range at a particular program, especially for older travelers who may be looking for a different social dynamic.
That said, I would absolutely not trade the experience. I went to Bali wanting to do something meaningful, immerse myself in another culture, and come home renewed—and I did. GoEco helped make an experience possible that I will remember for a very long time, and I would definitely consider volunteering through them again.

We had such an amazing experience with GoEco. In advance, they communicated what to expect, including a brief phone call with our contact here in Costa Rica. When we arrived, we were picked up and given a brief tour and told about local hot spots. The stay with a family for immersion was amazing, with absolutely delicious food, excellent conversation, and fabulous supports. We spent 5 hours per day studying Spanish with semi-private lessons for our kids and group lessons for us. Getting to the volunteer project was easy and perfect. Amazing opportunity to have the children learn about animals and feel they are making a difference. Our children are 7 & 9 and they loved it. The very last day my oldest was feeling a bit worn out and the project was very accommodating of her needing to leave to rest a bit early. Every single person we interacted with along the way was absolutely amazing, kind, and we've even made some lifelong friends.

We volunteered in Costa Rica at the animal sanctuary. As a family with a child with autism, it was a beautiful experience and created a structure to help our days go well. We were able to help as much or little as we could each day. The center worked with us through it all and provided a memorable experience. We learned so much on our trip.

The experience was full of useful work, fun experiences and meaningful bonding with teens from around the world. As a parent, we were given daily communication during travel, while in country, and whenever requested. I was never worried about my daughter during the trip.

No matter how—email, WhatsApp, and/or calling—they provide excellent support.
I had already visited Chipangali 34 years ago, and after all those years, the Wilson family gives more than 100%. Everything for the animals.
The warm welcome and the guidance from the family and staff were top-notch.
I am certain that I will visit this family again within 5 years.
And as for GoEco, I have already found a new destination for next year.

I had the trip of a lifetime in Africa...and GOECO was the driving force. They anwered any questions I had, (and there were many) quickly and very thoroughly. When it was time for my trip I was well informed and felt very confident in the information provided.
GOECO helped in every stage of the trip and I would highly recommend using their services if you are going volunteering anywhere!

My experience was amazing, I got to see animals I had never seen before and get up close to them, working to help and care for them. Not only that, but the people I worked with were incredibly friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend GoEco’s Wildlife Walkabout Sanctuary program to anyone who may be interested in working with Australia’s wildlife

I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical at first because it almost sounded too good to be true, but they completely blew my expectations out of the water! My 9-year-old son and I had an incredible time visiting the Rescue Center in Costa Rica. It was the perfect mix of fun and hands-on learning, and we both came away with unforgettable memories.

This volunteer program was a truly amazing experience that I will always remember. It gave me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and build genuine connections with them. The friendships and memories you make during a trip like this are truly special and impossible to replace.
One of my favorite parts of the experience was disconnecting from technology and enjoying real-life moments while spending so much time in nature. It allowed me to be more present, appreciate my surroundings, and enjoy every day in a different way.
Although I was not there during the hatching season, I had the incredible opportunity to witness sea turtles laying their eggs. It was something I had never experienced before, and being able to observe them so closely while learning about the nesting process was unforgettable. I learned so much about sea turtles, their behavior, and the importance of protecting them. Seeing them in their natural habitat was one of the most memorable parts of the entire program.
Another activity that I really enjoyed was helping clean the beach. We collected plastic and many other types of trash that had washed up on the shore. It was surprising to see some of the things we found because they were items you would never expect to see on a beach. Afterward, we sorted the waste we had collected, which helped me better understand the impact of pollution on marine ecosystems and why every small action can make a difference.
We also participated in a tree-planting activity, during which we planted around 160 trees. It was very rewarding to know that our work will have a positive and lasting impact on the environment in Sirena. Being able to contribute to the restoration of the area made me feel like I was leaving something meaningful behind.
During the program, we also participated in several permaculture activities, such as digging the soil and making compost. To be honest, those tasks were not my favorite part of the experience, and I was not expecting them because they had not been mentioned beforehand. However, I understand that they are an important part of maintaining the project and supporting environmental conservation.
One of the highlights of the program was that we were able to go to the beach almost every day and swim in the ocean. Those moments made the experience even more enjoyable and created some of my favorite memories.
I would also like to thank the staff. Alejandra was an amazing coordinator who was always responsible, supportive, and attentive to everyone. She made sure everything ran smoothly while also creating a fun and welcoming environment where we could enjoy ourselves.
I also want to give a special thank you to the staff at Sirena, especially Rony. He was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming from the very beginning. He has such a warm personality and always made everyone feel comfortable. His positive attitude really helped make the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, I truly enjoyed this volunteer experience, and I am very grateful for everything I learned, the people I met, and the memories I made. I would absolutely love to participate in another GoEco volunteer program in the future, especially once I turn 18, because I believe it would allow me to have an even more enriching and different experience. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful project.

Volunteering abroad with GoEco was one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. From the moment we arrived, every detail was thoughtfully organized, and the support, kindness, and professionalism of the entire team made us feel welcome and cared for.
Working alongside the local community and helping people was incredibly meaningful. We also loved being immersed in the beautiful culture of the Azores, Portugal. It was a unique opportunity to connect with the local way of life, meet wonderful people, and create unforgettable memories.
This program exceeded all of our expectations. We are deeply grateful for everything GoEco did to make this experience so special, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful volunteer abroad program. It truly makes a positive impact on both the community and the volunteers.
