I would give Epson printers 0* if I could.

If I could give Epson printers 0 stars I would. Their customer service consists of an AI bot (AI stands for automatic idiot in their case) and if you get transferred to someone they just introduce themselves and then ignore your query. I have bought two very expensive printers from Epson - Epson A2 photo printers direct from Epson SCP800 and earlier Pro 3880. BOTH DIED AFTER LIMITED USE. The inks cost a small fortune and are not transferrable to the later models, even though the cartridges are the same design. Total waste of money.

Absolute rubbish printer

Absolute rubbish printer! Be sure to not need an urgent print job AT ANY TIME, because there WILL ALWAYS be some or other issue with the printer - its incredibly slow to send the document to the printer, then it takes millennia for the thing to simply start printing as well. The things that has me at my wits end is the fact that YOU NEED ALL CARTRIDGES TO BE FILLED TO PRINT IN BLACK AND WHITE!! WHAT AN ASSBOLUTE SCAMM THIS COMANY HAS BECOME! Returning mine asap!

I’ve had an ongoing problem for four…

. I’ve had four Epson Eco tank printers in four years the latest one we bought in January 2025 ecotank 5170. We had to change it three or four times until eventually the year warranty ran out and Epson refused to change machine. It does not connect to the Internet. It keeps on reset and I have to keep on resetting the machine machine to the Internet. I also have to keep having to push the paper into the feeder constantly because it will not pick up the paper despite using Epsom paper despite all the settings being correct. Listen to the reviews. I believe I was given a returned machine that was old and was refurbished. in that first year we couldn’t use any of the machines and it was not because of the technology we had everything correct and we had it checked out by a technician independently.

Unable deliver con while sitting on my cash for a month.

I ordered some printer paper since it was on offer. It never arrived. Apparently UPS was unable to deliver, the block I live in has someone at reception 24/7 who takes the mail. I never received a tracking number or email to tell me that item was shipped in the first place. Apparently it then went to a UPS dropping point to be picked up. But since I was never told this was the case I never got a chance to pick it up. Eventually it went back to epson. So for over a month they had my £40 in their bank account alongside a million other peoples money to then return it. How much interest does this generate I wonder. I expected more from Epson. This just seems a con operation.
On top of that no one responds to your complains.

I cancelled my Readyprint contract…

I cancelled my Readyprint contract because it just wasn't good value. I then discovered that I could no longer create any prints with the cartridges I had paid for via my subscription. To get my printer working again I have to buy a new set of branded cartridges, not supplied by Readyprint!!

Extortionate and wasteful

Very good printer, but firmware updates have forced use of branded ink, which is extortionate. However, I can't join the scheme that automatically sends ink when running low, because my printer is ineligible for some reason. They do offer a printer that uses refillable ink, but it's much larger and doesn't do automatic double-sided printing. So, Epson is poor environmentally as well as expensive.

Epson printers are useless junk, verging on fraud

To answer the question of what went wrong, the answer would be everything.
This brand new product XP-2205 basically won't print anything. I've spent hours doing everything the manual says, in detail and correctly, and it just has endless error messages, like the printer is busy.
It has one job, to print a document.
That's it.
Epson printers are useless junk.

Do not purchase from Epson

Can only say 2though the girls that assisted me were excellent. Shout out to Katma and Noor great job.
Otherwise I bought an Epson printer from the local DID ELECRTRICAL branch. Took it home and it printed 5 sheets of black before the starter ink (black) ran out. Inserted the new Epson black ink and it flashed out of black ink. Went to download the app and you can't get it without subscribing to an ink subscription!?! 😲Went to their website talked to an AI bot before I could chat to a human. Noor patiently and with humor went through an hour of things to try. Turns out the unused starter ink is incompatible with 'REAL' Epson Ink and I could only return the printer if I shelled out €65 for a 5 pact.😲So after a another trip to the store I replaced all the ink, turned it on and same ink error light. Went back online for "customer service" and after more fiddling was offered a code to exchange the dodgy printer or refund ( thanks Katma)....I asked about the ink I had to buy to get this code and she said Epson policy is full refund on online orders only 😲. I of course was quite done with them but the code provided would only cover the printer and if I wanted to recoup that I had to take my chances with this horrible company's product...I was basically robbed because of their misguided rules...

Printer ordered on 15th June 2026. On 23rd June and still waiting

Ordered a printer on 15th June 2026 at 9:30. Informed delivery would be within 2 to 5 business days. on 7th waited for delivery after checking the tracking system on UPS 6:45 P.M. Delivery will be delayed by one business day. Croydon, United Kingdom. Again waited on 18th saying out for delivery, waited the whole day and 8:22 P.M. Delivery will be delayed by one business day. Croydon, United Kingdom same thing on Friday so I telephoned UPS who assured me it would be delivered that day. No delivery. According to information given by UPS I decided it was not worth waiting on 20th a Saturday. They said they tried to deliver. No card left, no message - burden of proof lies with the claimant. 22nd waited the whole day and tracking message changed at 8:51 p.m. changed to delayed. Today 23rd still waiting for the printer to arrive. Wrote to two MD and they did not have the curtesy to respond or have an automated message to say they had received the letter. Wrote to CS yesterday - no response. Rang Epson spoke to an agent in Egypt who said he will check and get back to me. Epson the worst people to deal with. I wish I had now gone for a Brother printer or purchased the same printer from Amazon Prime delivered next day. I would not even give one star.

Don't buy Epson!

Bought a 2205 home printer in January, it went faulty in April.
Epson aren't interested, customer service just keep fobbing me off with 'switch it off, switch it on again' and 'reload the driver' about half a dozen times, when I said enough was enough they said they'd replace it, asked for a load of details they already had, then changed their mind! Still waiting for a resolution!
DON'T BUY EPSON!

TERRIBLE SERVICE

TERRIBLE SERVICE

I received a printer that was faulty and it has been an absolute nightmare ever since. I keep getting multiple replies to my emails from different people and nobody is actually reading any prior emails in the chain, just all recommending different things and giving me entirely different information and instructions on each email but none are actually answering my questions.

The spelling and grammar on the emails are possibly the worst I've ever seen from a company too.

Absolutely shocking service and causing so much unnecessary stress.

Constant issues with printer not printing - XP4205

After previously owning an Epson printer for many years without issues, I decided to buy an Epson product again when my old printer needed renewing. I wish I had read these reviews before I went ahead. I have had nothing but problems with the new printer since the start. The main issue being that it frequently will not print and there is no pop-up to explain why this is happening so that the customer can take steps to remedy the situation. I consequently end up spending a considerable length of time trying to work out what is causing the issue. This is very frustrating, particularly when the printed document is required urgently. Based on my experience of this latest printer, I will never buy another Epson product again. The company should spend more time on fixing the issues with their products rather than pushing their overpriced inks.

Don't be an Epson sucker

This company runs a series of cash-back advertising promotions for its Epson printers, promoted through reputable shops like John Lewis. I am reasonably competent on a computer, but when I tried to redeem the £40 cashback, it was like going through a computerised assault course, most definitely designed to confuse and deter anyone thinking of attempting to get the cashback. I personally spent three hours going through the maze of material, only to be told too late that there was an error in my application, and by which time the promotion had expired. In my opinion, this should be classified as fraudulent trading.

Don't buy Epson products

So far, actual Eco-Tank printer is working well BUT don't expect Epson to honour the "cash-back" scheme. This has been running (across the board) for years and I can only conclude that either they want you to give up/won't accept your claim. pushing up the price, OR it's an attempt to get your bank details for nefarious purposes. As it was a well/known company I didn't do my usual Trustpilot check - that was my mistake! Had I known, I'd have bought the Canon.
Wherever you buy your product, your contract is with the RETAILER, not the wholesaler. In my case, John Lewis compensated me; after some discussions. Then it took DAYS, on multiple email sources, to get the claim stopped at Epson and my data deleted. No confidence in that!
