Hi everyone! we’re so happy that we got the chance to take part in this workshop and make our own wedding rings ❤️

Both my partner and I are quite creative people, just in very different ways. I’m more on the soft and artistic side and usually work with drawing and digital stuff, while he’s more hands-on, loves fixing and building things and has more of an engineering mind. But we have one very important thing in common: we both love things that are imperfect, handmade and unique.
So when we found this workshop, we immediately felt like it was a perfect match for us and our personalities! We also really loved Anna’s style a lot, and I can say that it was exactly what we were looking for, because I was really frustrated of everything that I could see in jewelry stores with wedding rings.

The workshop itself was very interesting experience. The atmosphere was amazing and Anna explained everything really well, including how the whole process would work, what we would be doing and what we could expect in the end. We talked a lot about how we imagined our rings and how we could bring those ideas to life, chose the material and went through all the little details of the process.

Making the rings was actually quite intense and fun. Anna was there the whole time, guiding us and helping whenever we needed it. especially during the most stressful part when we had to pour the metal into the mould 😂 that was definitely exciting!

And of course, the best part was seeing the finished rings and realizing that we had actually made them ourselves, with our own hands. It was such an amazing feeling! We’re incredibly grateful for this experience and for Anna for making it so special! ❤️❤️❤️

Anna is a delight and her jewelry workshops are so fun and informative! She’s very knowledgeable about her craft and is an excellent designer in her own right. The workshops are the cherry on top of the sundae!

Anna is a unique artist and craftswoman. An excellent mix of old world techniques with new world design sensibilities. Truly unique jewelry that you won’t find anywhere else.

I have bought several pieces from Metal Atelier and will keep doing so! The designer Anna Butwell's aesthetic is edgy yet soft and emotive. Her jewelry is sand casted, bringing earth and hand together into the beautiful "made by hand" objects we so crave in our modern digital times... And each of her pieces is truly a work of worn art. Also customer service is extremely responsive, with regular communications about order status and prompt shipping!

Anna is an amazing teacher! She thought me how to sandcastle a ring I designed and now wearing everyday.

I’ve purchased several pieces from Metalatelier as gifts for my wife, and they’ve all been a huge hit. I don’t know how to put my finger on it exactly, but every so often I’ll come across a piece on her site and it just clicks. It’s so uniquely her that I know my wife is going to love it, and she always does.

The designs are distinctive, artistic, and unlike anything else I’ve come across. Every piece feels special and personal rather than mass-produced.

I also love being able to treat my wife to something truly unique while supporting a talented independent artist. On top of that, the service has always been excellent. Orders ship quickly, arrive reliably, and the whole experience is seamless.

I learned silversmithing from Anna at Metal Atelier over the course of 2 years, and it completely changed my life creatively. She helped me go from making my very first silver pieces to building my home studio to continue creating on my own. Her teaching style is warm, supportive, and incredibly motivating. I couldn’t recommend her classes more.

Just like her creations, Anna's workshops are one of a kind. Whether you're looking to dip your finger (pun intended) in jewelry making or repurpose treasured heirlooms, Metalatelier definitely counts among the best of Berlin. Can't recommend enough!

I've done two sand-casting workshops at Metal Atelier, about a year apart, and they rank among the most rewarding creative experiences I've had. Each ran over several Tuesday evenings across a month, ending with a ring I'd made entirely myself: carving the wax, packing the sand mold, melting and pouring the metal, then filing and polishing the finished piece.
Both designs came from my tattoos, a star and a lightning bolt, and Anna, the owner and instructor, was brilliant at helping me translate those ideas into something actually castable. She never just said "that won't work." She explained why something was tricky and then helped me make it work anyway. That patience and creative problem-solving made all the difference.
The studio is welcoming, fun, and has a genuinely cool vibe. I wear both rings constantly and get complimented on them regularly, which feels extra special knowing I made them myself.
If you're intimidated by the idea of working with metal and fire: don't be. Zero experience needed. Anna makes it feel safe, accessible, and genuinely fun. Highly recommend.

I may be Metal Atelier’s biggest collector! Pieces with attitude, chains, and gems sprinkled all over them? Sold, every time. If you’ve ever wished for a punk rock metalsmith, look no further.

I’ve attended several workshops with Anna, and every single one was a fantastic experience. I love all the jewellery pieces I made, and the workshops are always fun, inspiring, and welcoming. I can recommend them 100%!
