I had a call with Ischke Lochner regarding the account opening for my company.
Indeed, she was very efficient and she found a solution at my problem, and my application has been accepted and my account has been opened right away!
I strongly recommend Ischke and Wamo.
Polly provided an outstanding support. Thank you so much. I would like all the support centers to work this way. All the problems and questions were resolved efficiently and quickly.
Following the December account migration, several months of historical transactions from my old GBP account had apparently decided to retire quietly from public life. This was somewhat inconvenient, as my accountant requires the complete records for the company accounts.
Polly did not simply direct me back to the statement button, which was precisely where the records were not. She stayed with the matter, identified my old account, searched the historical records and returned with exactly the statement I needed, including the missing autumn 2025 transactions.
Efficient, patient and genuinely excellent customer support. My accountant may now be reassured that October, November and December 2025 did, in fact, exist financially.
Five stars for Polly, and my compliments to whoever keeps the keys to Wamo’s archives. Apparently the great migration did not swallow everything after all.
And, should Trustpilot find five stars and a few complete sentences unusually enthusiastic, I can assure them that Polly is quite real, the missing statements were quite real, and so was my accountant’s need for them. I therefore hope no one from the verification department feels obliged to arrive at my door after midnight like Scotland Yard, requiring me to establish my identity in two languages while still dressed in my pyjamas.
The five stars are simply where they belong: with Polly, for excellent work.

Vittoria made opening my wamo business account the smoothest onboarding process I have ever been through. From the first message to the final approval, she guided me step by step, told me exactly which documents were needed, and explained why. I never had to guess what came next. What stood out most was her speed. Every question I asked got a clear, complete answer within minutes, not hours. Vittoria was patient, precise, and genuinely helpful throughout. She turned what is usually a stressful, slow process into something easy. If she represents the standard of wamo's support, I made the right choice. Thank you, Vittoria!

**Unable to fund my own company — no confidence in this business account**
I transferred €5,000 from my personal bank account to my company’s Wamo account as a share capital contribution. I am the company’s ultimate beneficial owner (UBO), and the purpose of the payment matched the documents already provided.
This was a SEPA transfer made on a Monday. My bank confirmed that the receiving bank had received the funds within minutes and provided confirmation of delivery. Yet the money never appeared in my Wamo account.
Only on Friday, after repeated follow-ups, did Wamo confirm that the funds were being held by its banking partner, Banking Circle. They then informed me that the payment was “outside of their risk appetite,” could not be credited and would be returned.
To be clear: this was my own money, sent from my own personal account to fund my own company’s declared share capital. No third-party sender. I explicitly offered to provide any supporting documents needed, but none were requested before the payment was rejected.
Frankly, I find this absurd. If a business account cannot accept its own company owner’s share capital contribution, how am I supposed to use it to run a business? What should I expect when clients start sending payments?
I asked how I could fund the company, whether future payments would face the same problems, and when my money would be returned. I received general assurances and promises of escalation, but no substantive answers to these questions.
Thankfully, the money eventually arrived back in my personal account. Wamo gave me no specific return timeframe beforehand and no confirmation or meaningful follow-up afterwards. As I write this, my questions remain unanswered.
If you are considering Wamo as your business account, think carefully: in my case, I could not even deposit the company’s share capital. That leaves me with no confidence in its reliability for everyday business payments.
Having seen other negative reviews about banking and payment issues, I am not surprised. I see that Wamo responds to negative reviews, but a public reply will not undo this experience or replace the answers I requested directly.
This is how you lose customers and their trust. Based on the service I received, I struggle to understand the high overall rating. I cannot recommend Wamo.
Update:
My second payment was ultimately released and credited to my Wamo account. I appreciate that Wamo’s Compliance team engaged with the case, provided supporting information to its banking partner, Banking Circle, and helped obtain the release of the second payment.
For clarity, the main cause of the delay was Banking Circle’s screening process. The first payment was rejected after the sender address displayed by my sending bank was flagged during sanctions screening. Those address details did not accurately reflect my current details; they were administrative data held by the sending bank. I am already updating this information with the relevant bank.
The second payment was successful, but the full process took almost two weeks. From a customer and business perspective, this is still a significant delay, especially when the funds are legitimate, the purpose of payment is clear, and supporting documents are available.
My view is now more nuanced: I have more concerns about Banking Circle’s payment-screening and escalation process than about Wamo’s own Compliance team. Wamo did make efforts to clarify the situation once it was aware of it. However, Wamo depends on Banking Circle for payment processing, and that dependency remains part of the overall Wamo customer experience.
I understand that strict compliance and sanctions controls are necessary and may also indicate that the payment infrastructure takes regulatory obligations seriously. However, where a genuine customer’s payment is flagged because of an address discrepancy, there should ideally be a prompt opportunity for Wamo and its banking partner to request clarification or supporting documents before the payment is simply returned.
Having reviewed other feedback, I noticed that similar concerns are also mentioned in relation to payment delays and account funding. For this reason, I would not rely on Wamo as my only operational business account at this stage. I believe it is sensible for a business to maintain alternative accounts with other banks or fintech providers as well.
I am updating this review to reflect the final outcome fairly: the payment issue was not caused solely by Wamo, but primarily by the screening procedures of its banking partner, Banking Circle. Nevertheless, the time required to resolve it remains an important consideration for any business considering Wamo as an operational account.
In the end, they decided not to open a business account for me, which is absolutely fine — no worries about that. Every company has its own onboarding criteria and is entitled to make that decision.
The frustrating part is the complete lack of communication. I received no proper response, explanation, or notification whatsoever. The only indication I got was when trying to log in, where I was simply greeted with the message: “Your account is suspended.” That has literally been the only communication from their side regarding the outcome.
I’m sure the standard reply to this review will be that a response was sent through “official channels” or something similar, but unfortunately, that has simply not been the case.
Declining an application is perfectly acceptable. Leaving a potential customer without any meaningful communication and letting them discover the decision through a login error message is not.
Very disappointing experience, especially in terms of customer communication.

I am extremely satisfied with the service provided by Wamo Bank. My main contacts, Celia and Ischke, are truly outstanding and consistently provide an exceptional level of support.
They are always incredibly friendly, highly competent, responsive, and professional. No matter the request, they handle everything quickly and efficiently while maintaining a very personal and solution-oriented approach.
It is rare to experience such a high level of customer service in the banking industry. Celia and Ischke are a real asset to Wamo and make working with the bank an absolute pleasure.
A huge thank you to both of them for their excellent work and continuous support. I can highly recommend Wamo Bank, especially because of the outstanding service they provide!
