PLEASE DO NOT SELL YOUR CAR THROUGH THIS COMPANY!
Avoid at all costs! I was cold called in response to my private ad on Auto Trader and was told they could get me more money for my car- they advertise the car and take £1000 commission upon selling. There is a lot of detail behind this, but essentially THIS IS A LIE! They ended up taking £3500 including costs such as a £400 sourcing fee, a £250 warranty fee for the person buying the car! and delivery/collection fees, amongst many other undisclosed costs, some of which are hidden in the incredibly long terms and conditions that they conveniently don't give you long enough to read before driving your car away. I ended up with £2500 LESS than if i had sold my car through a company such as Car Wow or Motorway. Price of car dropped several times during the 2 months it was for sale, never with any consultation or agreement to the final sale. All communication is either ignored or rebuffed with people being unavailable or off sick or there being techinical issues. I am currently pursuing reclaiming money through the formal complaints procedure and small claims court. Please don't fall for it like i did.
James has been incredibly helpful
I didn't end up buying a car
I didn't end up buying a car, although, I have to say, THE BEST experience ive had at any motor dealer! I test drove 4 cars and never felt under pressure because of this i had to give them 5 stars this is how sales should bne
My auntie sold her car with rockstar…
My auntie sold her car with rockstar took a little while but she got 1800 more than we buy all cars
Bought a bentley pleased with it
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service, I used their sale or return service for selling my daughters Mini, very happy with the whole process they arranged collection from my house and collected the car on a transporter by Mitch the driver who i must say was fantastic, they sold the car within 1 week and I got back £700 more than what i had it advertised for, I would like to thank all the team at Rockstar for all their help and for taking away all the hassle of me selling the car myself.
Nine months, no sale, and thousands of pounds in fees
I entrusted my car to Rockstar Motors under a sale-or-return agreement in October 2025. They kept the car for approximately nine months but failed to sell it.
When I asked for my car back, the situation developed into a prolonged and extremely stressful dispute. I had to instruct a solicitor and ultimately paid several thousand pounds in fees before I could collect my own vehicle. Those fees were described as covering selling, storage, advertising, cleaning and other services.
The final outcome speaks for itself: Rockstar Motors had my car for around nine months, did not sell it, and I still ended up several thousand pounds out of pocket simply to bring the matter to an end and get my car back.
In my opinion, this was an appalling and completely unacceptable customer experience. I would never entrust another vehicle to Rockstar Motors or Essex Motor Brokers Ltd, and I cannot recommend their sale-or-return service.
Anyone considering dealing with this company should be extremely cautious. Read every clause, have the agreement independently checked and obtain a precise written explanation of every charge that could become payable if they fail to sell your vehicle and you subsequently ask for it back.
Not even worth for zero rating
Stressful experience from start to finish. I would never recommend this company. They appear to exploit every possible legal loophole to maximise the amount they can take from customers, leaving you feeling unfairly treated and out of pocket.
I recently purchased a car from…
I recently purchased a car from Rockstar Motors after seeing one of their vehicles online. The team was welcoming, professional, and took the time to answer all of my questions without any pressure. They explained everything clearly, making the whole process simple and stress-free. I had a great experience and would definitely recommend them.
I would NOT recommend this company
I would NOT recommend this company aka Rockstar Motors - in fact I suggest you avoid them!! Although they did sell our car, they were difficult to get hold of, and when we did speak to them - quite arrogant. Their premises isn't not prestige as you might think from online pictures, it's an old farmyard and the office is a shed, so check it out before you hand over your expensive car to them!
They promised we'd get more by selling the car through them, but even though they apparently sold it for £3k more than the part-ex price (we're not sure, we've never had anything in writing), by the time they deducted their 'fees', we ended up with less than if we'd sold through CarWow or part exchange. So I regret going with them and really wouldn't recommend.
The contract (which we only got to see when they came to pick up the car) means they expect you to hand over the V5 with the car, then they hold onto your money for a month after they sell the car, and they deduct whatever fee they want with absolutely no supporting information / statement or invoice. We were worried that they'd have spent our money or gone bust before they paid us anything!
They never passed on the spare key to the new owner of the car - we've still got it, we had no chance to hand it over as they never told us anything about the buyer, including the final selling price! Absolutely no transparency - and they claim to be a broker acting in your best interests!?
It looks like Danny Nevill is no longer a director, we dealt with Dan Hugo and so our experiences are based on interactions with him - totally NOT impressed. He also has loads of companies listed at Companies House, which doesn't bode well! I feel a fool for reacting to a 'cold call' from 'Peter' (whoever he is, never seen or heard of since) off the back of our Auto-Trader ad, its been a very stressful experience - don't make the same mistake!
I strongly suspect the 5 star reviews on here are fake because I'm aware of lots of unhappy customers. And it seems odd how the reviews are either 5 star or 1 star and nothing in between!!
AKA Rockstar Motors Absolute joke…
AKA Rockstar Motors Absolute joke of a company, Danny the head man is the genuine Arthur Daily but on steroids....... I bought the car from them listed on car guru's. The car listing was for a different model so wrong spec meant to be a 4X4 when it arrived it was Front wheel drive. He ignored emails, monitored calls and would not answer, so used a different phone and he did and then changed number.. The fight continues.
Good job Danny is so incompetent or untrustworthy? Make your own decision, I am stating neither.
After getting an independent search I have now found the car has had a loan taken out on it after I paid for. The car is also has a history including stolen/recovered
The Motor ombudsman, Trading standards, Police and CAB have all been notified and as things take so long in this day and age and this all happened back in Feb / March time things should be coming up soon.
I recommend you contact police ASAP if your getting problems with them as They are known to them !!!!
AND GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!
!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!
!!!DO NOT USE!!!
If you only read one review from this website please make it this one. I recently put my car on auto trader to sell privately, I was contacted by Peter at Rockstar Motors who told me he could sell it for me for me as companies like this can offer finance options for the buyer. He asked to come and collect the car as they were going to detail it and get it photographed. I explained that I had an MOT booked for it so they'd need to wait until after the weekend, they told me they would carry out the MOT and they needed to collect it before the weekend as they'd be able to sell it sooner.
Peter told me that the ONLY fee that they take is £1000 UPON SUCCESSFUL SALE OF THE VEHICLE, no other fees were explained to me. Peter told me on WhatsApp that I would be sent an automated link to the sales agreement to sign. I received an email with a link to the sales agreement but NO T&Cs. I signed the sales agreement which again stated there would be a fee of £1000 UPON SUCCESSFUL SALE OF THE VEHICLE. They had the car for over a month and failed to sell it, I had messaged 3 times to ask them to drop the price so that I could clear down the finance I owed, and they could make the £1000. They kept putting off dropping it and in the end only dropped it by £1000 instead of the £4000 I had requested. At this point I needed to hand the car back to my finance company as my PCP agreement was coming to an end so I was on a deadline (which they were aware of). Peter had gone MIA so I was put in contact with a guy called James, I messaged on Monday explaining I will need to come and collect my car by Saturday. He ignored me for a while and then messaged me with a fake internally generated invoice in excess of £2600. The invoice listed a £1000 cancellation fee, plus 2 pages of other extras (including things like: air freshener, causal labour, booklet, pen, fuel (the car had 9 miles in) screen wash, forecourt, floor mats etc.) none of which I had ever been made aware of and none of which have actually been done on my car. I disputed the invoice and Peter told me that Danny (his boss who I will come to later) has put a possession lien on my car, meaning that until I paid the outstanding amount they claimed had accumulated, I am not able to collect my car. Peter told me that I had signed the terms and conditions which authorised them to do this, what I then realised was that AFTER they had sent me the sales agreement, they sent a follow up email, asking me to sign the agreement. In the bottom of that separate email signature is all the info about Rockstar motors, and right at the very bottom, the T&Cs. I phoned the police and took legal advice who told me I was essentially bound to the T&Cs.
The owner of this company is Danny Dean Nevill, he has over 25 businesses listed on companies house all scamming people of their money, one of which is Universal Web Designs, if you look them up you will see the same reviews. He uses fake identities (Patrick Collins) and has multiple court cases open against him along with being investigated by HMRC. I ended up having to barter with them and they charged me £1750 which I paid UNDER PROTEST, when I collected my car it was filthy, their site is a field and their office is a shed, it had also not been MOTd as they said it had. Since collecting my car they have now marked it as SOLD on their website which is yet another lie.
Please avoid this company and any of Danny Nevill's other companies, he is a professional con-man and fraudster and you will be left out of pocket and feeling humiliated, he does this so much that he knows all the loop holes and you will be banged to rights. PLEASE AVOID!!!!!
Recently purchased a vehicle from…
Recently purchased a vehicle from Rockstar Motors and couldn't be happier with the experience. The team was welcoming, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly while answering all my questions. I appreciated being able to inspect the car thoroughly before buying, and the whole process was straightforward from beginning to end. I would definitely consider purchasing from them again.
100% Fraud and Scammers!
100% Fraud and Scammers!
PLEASE DO NOT carry out any business with this company, whether buying or selling your car. Danny is the biggest scammer, his staff is fully trained to scam and lie to people. They don't sell your car, they rip off the car owners by sending them false invoices of 1000s of pounds.

I'm extremely pleased with the service I received from Rockstar Motors. The car was in excellent condition and matched the online listing perfectly. The staff were courteous, professional, and made the entire experience simple and stress-free. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I strongly advise anyone looking to do business with this company to do their research. Known scammer who has done people out of a lot of money.
I had a great experience with Rockstar…
I had a great experience with Rockstar Motors from start to finish. The team was friendly, informative, and never made me feel under any pressure. The vehicle was exactly as advertised, and the whole process was handled efficiently and professionally. I'd definitely recommend them.
Well where do i begin....
Well where do i begin. Danny Nevill is a lying, scamming cheat of a person. He suckers people in to all his businesses and then screws people out of their hard earned money. He brings anyone around him down.
I had the mis-pleasure of working as a Director with Danny Nevill for Rockstar Motors for a period of time (so take it from someone that knows). At first all seemed well and I didnt see the hidden under belly of what Danny was doing to people. Once I had realised I promptly left the company but not before he stole several thousand from me.
I would advice anyone to take caution if seriously considering using his services or working with/for him.
I have been in contact with a few of his victims who tell me the same horror stories (previous business partners, colleagues and clients). We all currently have an active legal case being made against Danny Nevill.
He has been reported to fraud department, police and companies house by myself and many others.
Do not engage with him on any account as you will get burned as we all have.
Nothing but a bunch of fraudsters and…
Nothing but a bunch of fraudsters and con men that only care about scamming innocent people out of hard earned money!
We have received threatening emails from Danny Nevill, demanding that we pay over £2k for a service they did not provide, and based on hidden terms that we were never shown, told or advised about. A quick google search of his name and you will see that he is a renowned con man in colchester who is currently being taken to court by multiple victims over fraud and scamming innocent people out of thousands, even taking their cars hostage until he is paid. We cannot also forget his little slimy sidekick Dan Hugo who likes to cosplay as a successful businessman by wearing a 3 piece suit to work in the shed they call an office, all whilst lying to peoples face until they sign.
The 5* reviews are clearly all fake as well and written by Rockstar themselves, do not believe them. What made me laugh was seeing Seb Debrawski also sharing a 5* experience, when he is one of the scammers that work there!
I honestly do not know how these people sleep at night, shameful and disgusting company.
IGNORE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS - THEY ARE LIES
We have had an awful experience with Rockstar Motors or whatever they call themselves. Quite clearly a cowboy outfit made up of fraudsters who get their kicks out of scamming people.
My partner left a 1 star review recently and we have since seen that his name has been used by a Rockstar employee at a later date to leave a 5 star review, refuting everything he had said previously! Having a look through it is quite clear they do this with all the bad reviews that are left as all of the fake “positive” reviews read EXACTLY the same.
