We're sorry this ended the way it did. We tried to work through it directly, and we're glad a resolution was reached.

Clarifications for prospective and current customers:

In our Bitcoin Mining as a Service model, customers own real mining rigs that run in our facilities. While Amira's rig was delayed in transit to its data center, Sazmining covered virtual hashrate out of pocket so she could start earning Bitcoin during that time. The deduction from the refund above covers fees for services rendered during that period.

Since no individual or entity controls the Bitcoin network, it should be noted that mining profitability also moves with network difficulty and Bitcoin's price. We're transparent that any figures on our website are real-time estimates based on the best information available, not guarantees.

Last, and perhaps the most important, support records document that every ticket was answered the same day it came in.

Brennan, thanks for sharing your experience publicly. I want to address each point directly.

On our fee model:

"We only make money when you do" is a factually accurate statement. Our revenue share only generates income for us when clients successfully mine Bitcoin. The distinction worth clarifying is that "make money" is not the same as "profit." At the Wisconsin data center, our 5% came to 0.021 BTC over nearly two years, worth roughly $1,400 at today's price, or about $65/month. Hosting fees are separate and cover real operational costs: power, staffing, and infrastructure. Those costs exist regardless of BTC price, and this structure was disclosed upfront.

On returns:

I know you joined us in early 2024, just before the halving cut block rewards in half for every miner on the network. Combined with rising difficulty and a prolonged price correction, margins across the industry compressed. These are global network forces that no one controls. The breakeven on your mined bitcoin is approximately $132k per bitcoin, which is highly likely to occur within the next two years and would complete the traditional recommended four-year hold period.

On the facility closure and rig liquidation:

This was our first data center closure, and you are right that we could have handled it better. We offered to sell clients rigs as a convenient service, offering indicative pricing until a buyer was found. The used ASIC market softened during the process, and liquidation prices came in lower than expected. Sazmining did not profit from the liquidation. We have since built a new process based on what we learned: let clients know that liquidation pricing is subject to market demand, and they must take personal possession to sell rigs on their terms if they’d like to avoid price volatility. That is a real lesson, and we have taken it.
