I Thought They Understood What They Teach. Instead, They Broke My Career and My Hope.
I enrolled in the RTT London Live program excited to learn from a teacher with 30 years of experience. However, Marisa Peer only gave group masterclasses. She no longer works closely with students — which is her choice, but the event should be promoted honestly. The close, personal training was done by a young trainer. I was charged for VIP services — but that is not what I got.
The promise was to start earning within 6 months. Instead, I lost £5,895, over a year of my life, and the career momentum I had built.
On the first day of the London live event, the trainer gave instructions that were not what we expected. She asked us to think of a real problem and share it, instead of pretending one. I opened up fully, in good faith. Then she pulled me out of the room and questioned whether I was there to be treated or to be a therapist.
After that, the trainer disappeared as a trainer. My team was dissolved. The five of us were split into other groups. I was moved repeatedly, until I finally refused. I never received an explanation.
I paid the six installments as agreed, with the understanding that after graduation I would make the remaining eight payments of £975 — once I was working and earning as a therapist. But when I was ready to graduate, they blocked my access and changed the rules. They still demanded the higher payments, even though they had prevented me from graduating and earning.
From 102 students, I was the only one whose certificate was taken back after the graduation photo on the Live Event— with reasons that seemed to change over time. They even said it had already been sent to me.
After I withdrew my consent, they continued using my image in online advertisements. I had to ask them to remove it.
After more than a year, they offered to waive the remaining debt and give me a £1,000 credit — but only if I agreed never to use any of the skills I learned and never to speak about my experience (skills I had been developing long before this course). I could not accept those terms.
The agreement restricted my rights while giving them control — and it asked me to give up my ability to work and speak, while they faced no similar obligation.
Since I refused, they have sent repeated threats about collections and legal action.
I felt grief and loss — which left me with emotional distress, lost career momentum, and broken trust.
They never gave me my certificate like the other 101 students. They never delivered the services as agreed. And they never returned my £5,895.
The content itself is useful, but for me, the value did not match the £5,895 I paid — especially given the obstacles I faced and the time I lost.
I know RTT is good. But this school did not make it right for me.
I enrolled in February 2025. This review is written in July 2026, after over a year of trying to resolve this.

Not for me
I don’t like the recordings at all and will be cancelling. The recordings are rushed and frantic. They instruct you to take a deep breath, then another, before you’ve even had time to inhale once. I also hate that weird fake inflection - it sounds very inauthentic and performative, which isn’t necessary in hypnotherapy. So yeah, it’s not for me. I tried so many different ones thinking maybe not all of them are that annoying but they all are. So I just stopped wasting my time.

From negative to positive self talk
This mini course really allowed me to change my internal self talk into positive and loving affirmations. I listened to the hypnosis programs daily and have used the lessons to change my outlook and emotional states about my personal life and my work.
