The experience was good. We wanted a semi-tailored trip where all the hotels and transfers were scheduled. Firebird came through with that. Most of the hotels were good—definitely a few that should have been rethought and we wouldn’t go back to but overall, centrally located and very walkable to the sights. Transfers were excellent. Drivers always on time or early and always very friendly (one exception). There were 3 ferry crossings on this trip. One quick one and two that were 17 hours. One long ferry ride would have been sufficient—it was a bit too much. The biggest negative from this trip was having someone along who couldn’t keep up. She was unable to handle her luggage, couldn’t really walk stairs or cobblestones for tours. She was also running late on more than one occasion. There were not porters in some of the hotels and a guest in the group would take care of her luggage for her. It made for a more frustrating trip having to make sure she was with the group. Overall the group that travelled on this tour were wonderful people and we enjoyed all of them but there has to be a way to make sure the client is able to keep up or make separate arrangements as this put a damper on what was a great trip.

Overall, I would recommend Firebird, only one issue with a guide and one issue with a hotel brings my rating down to 4 stars.

Having the app to track and follow your journey is quite helpful. Relative ease communicating with and decent response time from customer service while on our travels. Would use this company for future planning of trips but now know to be very specific in requests and needs in order to hopefully tailor a trip that truly suits the needs of our party. Further, for must see experiences, I will triple confirm beforehand to ensure there are no disappointed faces when anticipated adventures don’t come to fruition.

With the exception of one day - everything aligned perfectly with the itinerary. Very easy to move around. The tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable. The hotels were super comfortable.

Firebird's planning for and communication during our 21-day Japan travels was exceptional. We would use them again for our travels abroad without hesitation.

I was a bit anxious having not previously used Firebird. The reviews were mostly very positive, but there were a few that seemed to indicate if there was an issue that arose it was difficult to contact anyone or get a response. With the app someone was always available within minutes. Our hotels, drivers and guides were all top notch. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. They were attentive and accommodating to my mother who needed a little extra time and assistance at times. It was very much appreciated.

the fact that we were able to customize the itinerary was what drew us to Firebird. Working with the agents was easy and their responses were timely. We only had one glitch in the planning and a Firebird agent scheduled us originally for a restaurant that was closed on the day we were to go there. In the end, we changed the itinerary so that we could enjoy the restaurant. Our drivers and guides were exceptional, except the last one in Spoleto (Guiseppe). It was not a good tour! The wineries and cheese farm chosen by Firebird were first class. We attended a cooking class near Montalcino and again, a first class experience!

This was my first trip out of the US and it was perfect! We went to Sicily to see the location where our ancestor's lived and visit the locations of their birth. The hotels were 5-star, pick up and drop offs were always on time and in a luxury van. The drivers were knowledgeable about the towns we were leaving and heading to, very friendly, with the exception of one, it wasn't that he was unfriendly, I believe he didn't speak much English. The tour guides also were knowledgeable. I like the 2-4 hour tours which we had. The restaurants at the hotels were outstanding. Staff, everywhere we went, were so accommodating and welcoming. If I ever have the chance to travel again, I will definitely use Firebird tours. When telling people about my trip I always recommend Firebird. They made the whole trip smooth as can be and was always reachable if the need arose. I hope I will have the chance in my lifetime to do it all again!! Thank you Firebird tours!!

The Firebird toure to Switzerland by. Train was good. The places they picked were good
My wife and I went on a 8 day toure to 5 places by train
All was good except the individuals in customer service do not listen when you have a concern
My wife and I are 80 yrs old
From the beginning they scheduled train transfers with 5 to 14 minutes between train transfers
I told them before we left that it was going to be hard to transfer platforms in 7 or 5 minutes. Especially with luggage to push down the ramp and up the second ramp. The first one we had 7 min to transfer the train was 3 minutes late but by the time we got of the train with our luggage we saw the train leaving without us
During the trip I told them we were concerned to do 3 stops with short transfer times and they did not listen it felt like I was I was texting or e mailing an AI computer person
They need to listen to older people that take tours
As a result I canceled the last day tour because it had 3 transfers with very short transfer times and I wasted all that money

We had a wonderful trip and the experience and adventures were all that we had asked for. Every driver and guide were on time and very friendly and knowledgable. We did appreciate the convenience of the hotels being within waking distance of all major sights. We would have liked the hotels to have been upgraded with better breakfasts. All in all we had so much fun and made memories to last forever.

Overall very good experience only one hiccup in one of the drivers being late and the instructions to the meetup spot was unclear. Hotels were great, not too expensive, & pretty close to other things. Most of the guides were great. Before the trip, they were very helpful in giving a full refund when one person had to drop out for health reasons.

The final itinerary was exactly what we wanted from this vacation. Everyone we had contact with from the hotel workers to guides were all wonderful and accommodating

We were thrilled with our almost 3 week tour that Firebird put together. They worked with us to take an existing tour format and customize it to our wants and itinerary. We loved feeling like the tour was our own, not dependent upon a group, a bus, and a guide, but facilitated enough so we weren't on our own. Many transfers and transport modes for Firebird to consider, and they were almost flawlessly executed. We will absolutely use Firebird again.

Firebird did an amazing job on this trip. My family truly enjoyed our Scotland adventure. We will definitely work with you again… thinking Italy 2027!!!!

The trip was planned perfectly. All of our transfers were right where they said they would be. The tour guides were informative. The hotels were in fabulous locations to walk to the train stations.

It was a trip of a lifetime. All the hotels, transfers, and meals that were planned were awesome and seamless, and with the amazing guides, google translate, and the firebird app we had all the support we needed. I feel like we got an amazing taste of Japan, and I want to go back sometime soon again to see more!
The one experience that were less than great was the omakase food tour in Tokyo. The guide we had that night was not great, he told us unsavory stories about the underbelly of Tokyo, he rushed through the meals and almost ran between the restaurants with little time to enjoy being out in the city, and ended the tour a whole 30 min early. We had to wait alone for our driver to take us back to the hotel. I would recommend that Firebird avoid collaborating with that event-company in the future.
Overall, a fantastic trip and I highly recommend Firebird. In particular I want to commend our guide Jonny in Tokyo. He was such a fun person and had so much information to share. We felt sad when his tour was over - he became an instant friend.

Just completed a Firebird tour in Sweden and Norway, they did not have the transfer inf correct when we went from train to hotel or ferry to hotel.They left us stranded in Sweden at a train station for 1hr and half.They were easy to get a hold of but we had to constantly call. The point of booking an expensive trip is that it's seamless. Not so.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Italy. The itinerary was well organized, and the planning made for a smooth and memorable vacation. We appreciate all of the work that went into coordinating the trip
