88 days without my bike, zero support, deductions enforced despite major bike quality issue!!
I leased a Bulls EVO AM4 e-bike (UVP €7,000) at approximately €3,200 through this company. A serious gearshift defect appeared within the first 10 days of ownership. What followed was 88 days of no bike, no support, and no accountability — while my salary continued to be deducted every single month.
The bike shop (Zweirad Stadler Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin) failed to identify the problem across multiple visits, replaced parts that had nothing to do with the issue, and ultimately blamed me for "improper gear use" on a brand new bike. Deutsche Dienstrad backed the shop at every turn without any independent investigation, simply rubber-stamping whatever the shop told them.
When I escalated, they hid behind contract small print and told me lease payments are not suspended during workshop downtime. When I offered to pay under protest just to get the bike back, still nothing was done to expedite the process or show any goodwill. Locked into the contract with no viable exit, I was left writing emails into a void hoping for basic customer support. None was ever offered.
This company presents itself as a customer-friendly employer benefit. In reality, when something goes wrong, you are completely on your own. They will take your money every month regardless of whether you have a functioning bike or not.
Do not make the same mistake I did.
