Trash

Trash. Deleted my sites, wouldn’t explain why,and permanently close the tickets. I’ve been up for days and all my work is just done like that. Rot in hell.

Complete scam

Complete scam. Suspended my account because of irregular activity (using my CI/CD monthly quota is apparently irregular)... and continued to charge me for my Enterprise account. A complete disgrace. Their customer service is non-responsive and it's almost like they don't quite realise that developers depend on being able to access their remote repos.

Account shadow-banned, three weeks of automated replies only

In August 2026 my GitHub account was silently flagged. All my public repositories now return 404 for everyone except me, GitHub Actions is disabled, and forking is blocked. I opened support ticket #4654269 on August 11, answered every question the bot asked, and asked for a human review. Three weeks later the only replies are automated messages. On September 1 I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get any attention. I only want a human to review my account and tell me in writing what violation was found, or reinstate it.

GitHub Billing Support - Human unreachable

This review is specifically about GitHub's Billing Support response. I'd give it a zero if it was possible. I started getting charges to my Azure subscription out of the blue. I had disconnected the link from the GitHub side and deleted the organisation, and yet the charges persist, daily! A billing support ticket (as per their process) has gone unnoticed. This has soured my experience, and I honestly don't see me buying any product from them again given that it's impossible to reach a human. A while ago I previously submitted a technical support ticket and after 3 weeks I just closed it due to no response at all other than a ticket number.

Students Beware

I spent two hours trying to verify my student status. It does not allow you to upload documents to prove your student status; you can only take a photo of them. I did that seven times, and every time it either said the text was too small or that my Financial Aid and Enrollment letters were not my Financial Aid and Enrollment letters, but a different document that their platform does not accept. I do not have a single document from my college that is under ten pages, so I can't take a picture of all the information at once either. I then spent an hour talking to Copilot just trying to convince it to let me talk to a human being. Instead, every time I submitted a support ticket, Copilot took over. When it decided it resolved the issue (it never did), it deleted the support tickets without ever submitting them. Finally, Copilot told me to put two photos side by side, one that shows my name and the school and another that shows I am enrolled, as that would get me approved, and it didn't! Again, it said the text was too small, but the whole point of using two documents (according to Copilot) was so the text would be big enough to recognize. The best part about this whole situation is that I signed up with my college email address, and every time it requests verification, it asks ME if I would like to use my student email already on file. Make it make sense. I deleted my GitHub account within 6 hours of having it, and I have no intention of ever using it again. Copilot is also the least intelligent AI product on the market right now; I would highly suggest investing elsewhere and using a different platform.

I was using GitHub regularly for my personal projects and at first everything worked fine. One morning I logged in and noticed that access to some important features was restricted. I spent a lot of time trying to understand what happened, but the information provided was not very clear.

What frustrated me most was not the issue itself, but the difficulty of getting a quick explanation. When you work on projects for many weeks, any unexpected interruption can create a lot of stress and delays.

I still think GitHub is a useful platform with many good tools, but in my experience the communication and support process could be much better. I hope they improve this in the future.

Flagged as a bot, cut off from my repos.

I had 60+ repos on GitHub, personal projects. They enforced 2FA, automatic build "Actions" stopped working until 2FA enabled. I enabled 2FA successfully, Actions were not immediately restored, so I set a loop to ping every 20min to retry. Apparently that triggered a "oh no bot attack!" and now I've been flagged as a bot and all my 40+ public pages are 404 errors. it's really disruptive to my regular dev workflows. I'm looking at mass migrating to Gitlab or Forgejo. It's been 3 days since I received a request to explain myself and answered; nothing, nada, zilch. worst customer support. your code at the mercy of arbitrary systems.

No way of contacting. No answer for over a year

My account was falsely flagged. Thus I cannot authorize any Third Party Applications. I can´t even connect nor push from Git, which renders GitHub useless for me.

I have tried multiple times contacting them. The first time was a year ago, without any answer. The second time was three months ago.

There isn´t any E-Mail at all to contact them, and they dont answer to the integrated chat (via tickets).

At this point, this is just straight up embarrasing for a platform of their size

I was a paid github.com copilot pro member now I can't continue my membership

I was a paid github.com copilot pro member for 3 months, and now I can't continue my membership or make payments. there's a statement saying that new memberships are suspended, existing members can continue, etc., but there's no payment option, no support, no matter if you're pay customer. my projects that I started with github copilot pro are half-finished.. i also mistakenly paid $4 for github confusingly and i wrote them saying i did it mistakenly since i can't find an option to renew my copilot pro member 3 hours ago and still no reply..
