They sold me a vauxhall zafira tourer in excellent condition, full service history, and were polite and courteous throughout the transaction. Special shout out to Abdul who let me take the car for an extensive test drive and also was a gentleman. I waited two months to write the review so it would be an accurate review. No trouble with the car at all, i took it for a service after purchase and no problems. One small criticism: it would be nice to have given me half a tank of petrol for the return journey, instead the tank was v low. Apart from that, excellent service and friendly too. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Qumer was really good with settling the car, we went through the specs and financial side of the motor. Extremely pleasant and concise when examining the car, and informative with the documentation during handover.

The team seem to care a lot for their range of motor vehicles.

Purchased a Renault Clio for our son, communication was easy viewed and delivered same day. I was a little dubious over other people's bad reviews but we have had a positive experience. There is a 14 day cooling off period and 3 months warranty hopefully won't need either.

I recently bought a Toyota GT86 (A childhood dream car of mine). From the first interaction with the Carvender team, Abdull specifically, I was hooked. Abdull ensured the buying and part exchange experience was very smooth and efficient. Part ex was very fair and the whole experience was surreal. It's not always easy when you buy a car online and a bit daunting when you hand over your money and hope you're not going to be ripped off. But, my car arrived on time as arranged and in the exact condition as described.
The guys at Carvender were friendly and most importantly, honest.
I would happily recommend them and use them again.

As with a review further down in April, my experience with the after sales is terrible. I purchased a car for £9800 25th April. It came with service history and 2 inspection reports from December 25 and February 26. Whilst test driving the air con wasn’t working. I pointed this out and they said it needed gas, which they did.

They refused to accept a lower offer because they said their cars have been fully checked and leave in perfect condition.

By 28th May the cars aircon had stopped working completely. I emailed and they said to go to a local garage for a report and quote. Whilst waiting for this appointment the car started making a knocking noise and the brakes started grinding. Then an oil light came on. The garage have found issues with the car. The brake discs and engine mount have corroded. The reverse light wiring is mangled.

I’ve been quoted £1091 for the air con and light work. A further £500-£800 for the brakes and engine mount.

You cannot complain to the after sales on the phone. Only by email - huge red flag. To date I’m getting nowhere with them covering the cost of the repair.

Legally if things brake within 6 months they have an obligation to repair them. The law assumes the faults are pre-existing. Clearly they hadn’t checked the air con compressor and brake discs and engine mounts don’t corrode in 5 weeks. I’d had the car 5 weeks when I first contracted them about faults.

I received an email yesterday telling me to take the car back to my garage again for a report (I’ve already done this) and to ask them to clarify why they think the faults are pre-existing. I have refused to do this - as legally the onus is on them to prove the faults could not have been pre-existing. They have said they’ll inspect my car but cannot tell me how long they’ll have it and have refused to provide a temporary replacement car, courtesy car, or cover the cost of a hire car. Every suggestion they’ve made involves me paying additional costs on top of the £9,800 I paid outright for a car they claimed to be perfect.

I was hoping to resolve this amicably with them and they’d provide an apology and cover the repairs, but clearly not. I now have my car booked in for the work in 2 weeks time. I cannot drive it currently due to the issues it has. And I cannot wait days on end to receive emails from them without resolution. I will pay for the work myself, the work will be filmed, they will ensure the parts they remove are kept and photographed, then pursue this through the small claims court. I will also be reporting this to the Motor Ombudsman and AutoTrader.

Your legal rights when buying a car that has faults within the first 6 months are good. And having taken advice I’ll eventually get my money back. It’s just unbelievable to me people could sit and allow you to transfer almost £10,000 on a car they know has faults, claiming it’s in good condition.

Edit: I’ve had no reply to my emails from Carvender since the day of this review - asking me to take it down. They referred my situation to an online legal team who have not responded to emails for 2 weeks. I’ve now had to pay for repairs myself as I could not continue with an unsafe car. Luckily my garage photographed all the faults for me, but despite sending all this to Carvender, they’ve ignored all communication and the opportunity to resolve this amicably. Be aware the warranty only overs engine or gear box failure - nothing else so offers no protection at all for any other undisclosed issues.

Qumer and his colleague were very professional. They were able to answer any questions I had and I felt supported whilst buying my lovely car! If you are looking to buy a new car, then I can highly recommend you buying it from Carvender!
