Review of Bella Barista - For Coffee Lovers

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Warning - complete lack of post sale customer service

This was my second order from Bella . . and fortunately for me, a small item. For anyone considering a major purchase (like a £2k espresso machine . . I'd recommend you think again).
As the other 1 star reviews make clear, Bella clearly does not consider post-sale customer service of any importance.
On Aug 7, ordered a Porta Filter Handle and spout. (Order #108808)
Items received on Aug 12th.
The order had a number of failures -
* The packaging used was too thin for the heavy portafilter. The package arrived with a Royal Mail sticker staying the package had been damaged in transit and resealed. I had to wash grass clippings off both items in the package, as clearly they had fallen out.
* The items together are defective by design - if you actually use the spout with the portafilter, they do not fit together.
* To add injury to insult, the portafilter did not fit my espresso machine.
On Aug 13, requested a RMA number - which was issued (RMA BCCD802977290)
On Aug 14, item was returned via RoyalMail (tracking number VU437064138GB)
Item was returned by Royal Mail on Aug 17.
On Aug 25th, I emailed customer support asking for an update and refund.
As of Sept 3, I have received no reply and no refund.
I will now wait one additional week and if I do not have see a refund issued to my credit card, I will contact my bank for a chargeback.

Way early to be asking for a review

Way early to be asking for a review

I would leave zero stars, as the product I ordered HAS NOT YET BEEN DELIVERED. Free tip: add a step in your work flow to not send a request for review UNTIL the product has been marked as "delivered".

Does Laings understand the Consumer Rights Act applies to them??

I purchased a TAG Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph watch from Laings (order no. 8289) in May 2025. Within five weeks it broke. The Laings Edinburgh shop sent it back to TAG Heuer for repairs, which took longer than I had even owned the watch.

When the watch was finally returned, it broke again almost immediately. At this point I informed their customer service department that I was exercising my final right to reject under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Section 24(5).

Despite this, Laings’ only offer was to send it back to TAG Heuer for another round of repairs (or return it to me). In my experience, the watch has repeatedly failed and appears to have an intermittent fault, meaning it is not of satisfactory quality.

As of today, I have spent more time without the watch than with it, despite paying over £2,700 for what should have been a reliable luxury timepiece. In my view, this is not the standard of service or product quality one should expect from a high-end retailer that promotes itself on a 5-star level of service. I have now filed a Section 75 claim with my credit card provider and will be sending a Letter Before Action.

I will not be ordering again from a company that refuses to honour consumer rights.

No hassle returns? HA - AVOID THESE GUYS

Ordered a small item for a PV install. From their website, it appeared to be in-stock. The item was not shipped for 5 weeks. To their credit, they did ring after five weeks to report there was a "problem" and the item would be shipped out again.

An additional week later (6 weeks from the original order), I emailed to say it still had not arrived therefore cancel the order. Of course it showed up via DPD the next day.

Their website promises a "no hassles" return policy. HA! A second email asking for an RMA was never returned and their phone number today does not answer.

AVOID THIS COMPANY.
