This is an unusually designed modern property, with the bedroom downstairs and the lounge/kitchen/diner upstairs. It is reached down a series of narrow bumpy lanes. Access to the beach by foot involves a long walk climbing over a mass of dangerous rocks.
One’s first impressions are favourable and certainly the bedroom is excellent, the bathroom and shower are too, with plenty of hot water. The bathroom could do with shelf to put your items on.
However, the upstairs is designed without any thought for visitors.
I ought to begin with the Arrival Details and Local Directions. Towards the end of your journey, they are wrong.
“Follow this road to the last gate which will be locked”. If it was locked, which it wasn’t – it was wide open into the hedge and you might not see it, - how do you open it?
And how do you know it is the last gate until you have driven past it and not found another one? Actually, there is another one after the tarmac runs out and that is locked, but by then you have missed the property.
The key safe is not located on the ground floor of the property. That is where the old disused one still is, by the abandoned water butt and spare lengths of artificial grass in the weed border. The new key safe is behind the pillar on the gate to the property.
The front door bottom seal is split with the rubber hanging out.
It is true that it has sea view, but only if you stand at one end of the small patio balcony. If you sit in the sofa which faces the double patio doors you will either see the television or overgrown bushes. The bushes need cutting down to make a 2ft hedge and television needs fixing to the wall and the sofa turning through 90 degrees.
Even from the balcony, the view is unnecessarily restricted by overgrown trees and bushes.
There is a wasps’ nest in the wooden gladding by the balcony, which I temporarily blocked with a stone and killed three wasps.
The artificial grass lawn has weeds growing up the edge, as well as weeds prolifically growing in the gravelled areas.
In the lounge, the DVD remote does not work and the TV remote would only change one channel up or down at a time, so it probably needed new batteries. Wait five seconds and it worked again.
The dining table wobbles 2” from side to side.
There is no cupboard space to store your own food. In fact, the cupboards and drawers are overstocked for an apartment for two. There are seven oven trays, for example plus a greasy grill shelf which we left out of for cleaner.
The cupboard with the plates in won’t close because the plates are wider that the shelf. The self -opening mechanism does not stay open.
On the hob, only one of the two lights worked and setting 3 on the extractor fan didn’t work.
The microwave is in a cupboard, above head height, impossible for my wife to use.
The folder of instruction manuals is jaded and some leaves are falling out. Same for the other folder with local information. The there is also a large box file of similar information, in a cupboard. It all needs new 4-ring folders, new plastic sleeves and a thorough sort out and update.
Recycling instructions are complex, with five separate receptacles in the kitchen area and directions that threaten you with fine if you recycle incorrectly. We took all our rubbish home and sorted the recycling out there.
One of the general storage cupboard/room had an abandoned DVD player in it.
The overall theme is one a lack of appreciation of the simple needs of someone staying in this property and, because if this, I would not recommend it.

No quibble replacement for a faulty cartridge. Really honest and straightforward.
