Reviewing the s22i bike
**Update 4/30/2024. Latest saga with this bike, again the crank arm fell off, I reattached it, then a week later the whole bike just stopped working. No power, no lights - nothing. Thankfully I extended my warranty before it expired last November. 3/19/24 I opened a ticket, took a month and a half to get a technician out. Nordic Track sent all kinds of new parts, including a new monitor. Technician came out and and replacement everything they sent then told me it still wasn't working. Apparently it needs the circuit board replaced, he says he is placing the order for me and he will be back to install it after Nordic Track sends it to me. So likely at least another month and a half. He also told me never to go with out a warranty on these bikes because this is pretty much what he works on all day, they constantly break down. I really wish I had never purchased one. I really hope people read my reviews and take note, if you want the bike be prepared for it to only work about 6-7 months out of the year before it will fail again and again and KEEP IT UNDER WARRANTY (another expense you wouldn't expect).
**Update, well exactly 1 year from the purchase date the crank arm fell off the bike. I reattached it myself only for it to fall off again within 2 minutes of riding. The bike is essential worthless at this point. I purchased the extended warranty, in which they sent out a new crank arm but I've been waiting almost a month now for the maintenance team to call me to set an appointment to fix it. Iconfitness who sold the warranty gave me the number to call but all I get is voicemail and no one returns my calls. I reached back out to Iconfitness and am now not getting any response from them either. For as much money as I paid for this machine (+extended warranty), I would have 1) expected better quality and 2) at least have gotten prompt attention for the repairs. I absolutely cannot recommend anyone to purchase this bike from Nordictrack. Lowering my review to 1 star.
I've now had the bike for 10 months. The bike is nice, it rides very smooth. For me personally, I do not think the iFit subscription is worth it. So then do I really need the expensive bike? Probably not. I should have just gotten a nice spin bike instead. One positive that I give it credit for is the ability to adjust the incline and resistance with the push of a button, better than having to turn a knob. I replaced the peddles with clipless, easy to do. One thing that I don't like, is if you don't get the seat tightened extremely tight it will drop on you during your ride. This is a pain when you share the bike with other members in your household and constantly have to ensure it is very tight. It has also developed a "clicking sound" when I stand to ride, which is annoying. Overall, I rate it as average due to the price and couple mechanical issues.
