Review of St. James’s Place

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

1) ST.JAMES' WASTE OF SPACE.

1) Poor, uncompetitive returns on investments.
2). High overall charges.
3). Punitive and unique early encashment penalties.

SERVICE WITH A SMILE !

A great welcome from the 3 friendly ladies in the Kendal branch of a, now regrettably, rare Building Society that has the confidence and determination to remain 'mutual' and retain a presence on the nation's struggling main shopping highstreets. How refreshing to talk face-to-face with a congenial fellow human being rather than battling with the internet and all its associated viruses and glitches!

Lara was extremely professional and offered me a same day appointment to set up a cash ISA which she did in no time at all. Far less painful than a trip to the dentist....assuming you can find one!!

Thanks so much, Lara and colleagues. You're all a great advertisement for the Leeds Building Society.

Hi Jonathan, we're happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to our Kendal branch and that Lara and her colleagues where there to welcome you and make it as painless as possible in opening your cash ISA, unlike a visit to the dentist.
I will pass on your kind words to them, and I am sure they will be overjoyed that they have made a great impression on you.
Thanks Raymond

BRIGHT SPARKS !

Glow worms and electric eels in a rage
Octopus, Greg, has usurped their stage.
Some horrid, slimy maritime snitch
Spitefully spilled all those beans to 'Which':
FIXED in your ways, or FLEXIBLE as can be,
Most future kilowatts will come from the sea.
So Ofgem polluters, don't kick up a stink
Lest that 'Olly' Greg releases more ink!

IRON AGE LEGACY.

Like or loathe them, the water companies have inherited what may turn out to be more of a poison chalice than they initially realised. Corroded and leaky Victorian/Edwardian iron pipework is needing to be upgraded with a more modern and durable replacement network. I wonder how long it will be before these plastic-based pipes are found to have carcinogenic properties?

To replace such an enormous network requires extensive and major roadworks which inevitably cause long traffic jams. Disruption could be considerably reduced if the utility companies employed competent and professional Traffic Management companies instead of relying on cut-price, rogue operators who sit in their vans chatting on mobile phones, quite oblivious to the congestion being caused by defective and poorly phased temporary, 'automatic' traffic lights. At peak times, manual/visual control should be mandatory, as used to be the case.

Utility companies are frequently accused of paying excessive dividends to shareholders. Private companies NEED investors to provide vital working capital. Without realistic returns on their shares, investors would naturally look elsewhere, so attractive dividends MUST be offered when funding these colossal private engineering projects.

That is unless the Government wishes to re-nationalise our once state-owned monopoly suppliers. Until then, shareholders will need to be found and realistic dividends paid.

Review of Fiat

Shocking after-sales back-up.

Poor reliability and even worse after sales back-up. Most Fiat dealers have closed in NW England.
After just 20,000 miles my 2021 Fiorino required a new, high-pressure diesel pump. Now at 35,000 miles the aircon has packed up and needs a new pipe which can only be sourced in Italy. Anticipated repair will cost £500. I certainly won't be buying another Fiat. Like many European companies, they seem to have given up on their UK operations.

SERVICE WITH, (MORE THAN JUST), A SMILE.

Diesel leak on fuel pump of my Fiat Fiorino needed fixing before extended warranty expired. Vehicle left at Preston Motor Parks on Thursday 1st February at 0830. New pump sourced, delivered overnight and fitted next day. My sincere thanks to everyone involved, especially Nathan and also Ash,( I think that's the name of the workshop manager). What an incredible achievement in record time. Service doesn't get better than this. Should be noted in the Guinness Book of Records! Thanks so much, Gents. Your efforts were very much appreciated.

Review of Morrisons Supermarkets

MASSIVE MARKETING MISTAKE.

Such a pity Morrisons discontinued their very popular old Morrisons Card and points system. I used to spend about £250 per week on fuel/food and looked forward to my 'Morrison's Fivers' redeemable in store.
Despite massive criticism from their loyal customers, for many months Senior Management chose to ignore public opinion.......until recently, when the profits, and that proverbial 'penny', must have dropped and the previous reward system has been sensibly resurrected in its entirety.
Too late, I'm afraid, for many of their customers, myself included, who have discovered the much more modern, spacious and competitive Sainsbury's store nearby. I certainly will not be returning to Morrisons and its deaf Management, so impervious to constructive criticism.

PICTURE PERFECT !

I am pretty useless with the Internet, but found it very straightforward to submit some pictures I took of my recently-sold house.
I wanted them made into an album and could not have been more delighted when I received it only a few days later. The presentation, and quality of the printing is outstanding and I shall certainly be keeping you busy with more of my treasured photographs!
Thanks for a great, and highly professional, service.

POINTLESS......AND PEEVED.

Lost over 4,500 hard-gained points, (almost £5 worth), when points were scrapped earlier this year. Now at 76, I am struggling to make any sense of Morrison's grossly over-complicated new Smartphone App.
Went to do my weekly shop on 10-09-21, (yesterday), and was told I had no offers to redeem. I bought £50 worth of groceries, including a large tub of ice-cream. Imagine my amazement, when returning home later that same day, I discovered an e-mail from Morrisons informing me that I am entitled to 15% off guess what........ICE CREAM!
How incredibly generous, especially as the voucher expires on 12-09-21, (tomorrow) !
No advantage in buying fuel there any longer either, according to staff at kiosk: fuel purchases are not linked to those nebulous offers for goods in store... the type of goods that we neither use nor eat anyway.
What a sham/shame! Are Morrisons hell-bent on commercial suicide? Ken Morrison must be turning in his grave. Did he spend enough in his lifetime to be eligible for some Mogadon/Valium offers or vouchers, I wonder?
Now where's my nearest TESCO.....

HOMECARE COVER AND SERVICE

I have had a HomeCare contract for eleven years now and very affable BG engineers call in every year without fail to ensure that the boiler is on peak performance!
Recently it needed a new motorised valve for the hot water supply and within 2 days of my call, despite the present difficult logistical problems caused by this dreadful virus, a super-efficient engineer from Ulverston by the name of Neil, (Employee No. 7181), called in, bang on time, and fixed the problem immediately without any domestic mess or disruption. Yet another great guy from BG!
I cannot recommend this service highly enough: HomeCare has never let me down and has always exceeded my expectations.
Thanks very much to you all, especially Neil!

'IT' PHOBIA !

I have a mental block where computers, and IT in general, are concerned. They terrify me!!
What a relief, therefore, when I learnt from a friend about the expert assistance offered by bOnline for Nitwits such as myself!
Not only did your Cape Town staff devise a website for me, but they also keep it updated with some of the nicer reviews that people are kind enough to write about my small campsite in the UK's Lake District.
And goodness knows how she's done it, but one of your excellent Cape town staff called Sinovuyo Pearl Tom has just transferred my customer reviews from Pitchup.com across to the Testimonials section of my own website. What a charming, polite and patient lady. No wonder bOnline is such a good company, with staff like Ebraheem and Sinovuyo working for them! I remain eternally grateful to you all. Many thanks.

WEB OF CONFUSION !

In my dotage at 75, I am too set in my ways to attempt fathoming the mysteries and confusion of the Internet! It is, therefore, a huge relief to be able to rely on the clever and most helpful staff at bOnline to assist me with any changes I occasionally need to make to my business website.
True to form, my most recent request to add additional text and photographs was swiftly and efficiently dealt with by one of the lucky people who are based in your Cape Town offices and goes by the name of Ebraheem Williams. What a nice chap! Great to know that such fantastic service is only a phone call away, albeit some 6,000 miles across the oceans! The wonders of telecommunication!! Thanks so much, Ebraheem.
Pop in for a pint and a sandwich should you ever venture to the Lake District in the UK.

I am terrified of technology and never…

I am terrified of technology and never had any dealings with the internet until I opened a small B&B/Campsite. I was advised by my friends that I would need a website, e-mail address and free wifi for my guests if the venture was to succeed! I nearly abandoned the whole project!
Fortunately another business acquaintance then recommended that I get in touch with bOnline and their amazing website designers came to my rescue and produced my first website a few years ago. Recently it was suggested that a 'facelift' is due to make things 'mobile-friendly' and Julie Els in bOnline's Capetown offices has come up trumps again with a superb new presentation. Her skill and patience knows no bounds and nothing was too much trouble for her. She rang me at pre-determined times, (much more punctual than British Railways!), and, once again, I was talked through the whole procedure which was such a relief. The end result is fantastic.
I cannot thank the courteous and friendly staff in your UK office enough, especially Emile and Ruku, and also those magicians in your Capetown offices, namely Jess and, most especially, Julie.
Excellent staff working for a first-class company which I, unreservedly, recommend.

EXPERT ASSISTANCE.

Sorry to hear that Olivia no longer works with your company, but I got the same friendly and helpful response from another of your great employees called Jetto Kalavadakken, the SEO Team Leader. I am not good with computer technology and am always so grateful to receive such a helping hand when I need to make small adjustments to the website originally designed for me by Olivia and her colleagues. It still gets me very good publicity and many visitors, who write me kind reviews. It's amazing what an alcoholic bribe in our nearby pub can achieve!!
Please would you pass on my thanks to Jetto and may I wish you all a most pleasant 2018?
Best wishes,
Jonathan Ward.
