Do not use Hertz. They forced me to sign for max insurance - 300 for only four days - saying my car was uninsured. This wasn’t true it turns out. After dropping off the car they said all fine but they charged me an additional £91 for no apparent reason and no email.
Light doesn’t work - £300 down the drain because we can’t contact them to fix. They don’t answer the phone, emails, nothing. Am having to resort to reporting them to Trading Standards. Awful (actually non existent).
They have replied saying they have tried to contact us 6 times. This is not true. In addition I have now since emailed via their message page, emailed via my own email, giving my order number 10281. Nothing back at all.
Beautiful website so I do not understand: are they consciously deceiving customers and ripping them off, or is this an oversight????
UPDATE 25th Nov: to be fair to the company they have now got in touch and given us a refund on the light.

Dear Ms McMillan,
We're truly sorry to hear about your experience and the issues with your light. We take customer satisfaction very seriously and have been actively trying to reach you to resolve this. So far, we have sent a total of 6 emails in response to your inquiries, but it seems there may be a technical issue preventing our replies from reaching you.
Could you please check your spam or junk folder to see if our messages are there? Alternatively, if you have a different email address we could use to reach you, please let us know. We’ve also tried reaching out from an alternate email address to ensure our support reaches you, but unfortunately, it seems we haven’t had any success.
We’re committed to finding a solution and making this right for you. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to connecting soon.
Awful. Turns out when you make a claim they make it as hard as possible for you. You cannot claim for 14 days after you've set up the insurance. That's not much help if you crack your brand new phone within that time. Doesn't seem to matter that you've actually paid the premium. Imagine if car insurance worked in the same way and that for two whole weeks after paying for insurance you weren't in fact insured at all. Far too much nonsense paperwork to fill in too. Oh, and if you've not read the small print about sending evidence that your brand new phone is, um, brand new and working within the first 7 days, they don't cover you either. Feels like a total rip off. I now face paying £275 to fix the phone on my own, which I cannot afford.

Hi G McMillan. That is correct that our gadget insurance does not offer instant cover, many providers work in exactly that way. In terms of validation this process is mentioned in the FAQ and again on the email sent to confirm the policy. However we do take onboard your comments and will look to make the validation process clearer. Many thanks, Nova Direct
