I ordered a gift from Buds Fitness for my husband, and asked if it could be sent in plain packaging just in case. Liam was so kind and not only sent it in a plain outer box, but also wrapped the product inside in tissue paper. It was unexpected and so thoughtful.

I ordered a photo frame from Park Cameras. It was a similar price to other websites but the P & P was far cheaper. It arrived quickly and was incredibly, incredibly well packaged. The frame was also of a high quality. I don't often leave reviews but it was a fantastic experience.

I ordered some mugs from Nucasa, they arrived incredibly well-packaged but one had manufacturing damage. Nucasa sorted this out very quickly, efficiently and helpfully.

I posted a job on ratedpeople, didn't pay for premium listing, and got an interested tradesperson. What disturbed me, however, was finding that my contact details had then been passed to this person without me explicitly agreeing so, unlike a similar website which allows you to decide whether you're happy to share your details with each interested tradesperson.

I felt that control was taken away from me, and had no idea if and when this person would call, and looking at the profile I wasn't going to be inviting the person to quote. I was very unhappy and unsettled. More so when, not long ago, I received an email from RatedPeople telling me that the tradesperson had been removed from their website due to not meeting standards or their terms and conditions.

I expect that there are many transactions on RatedPeople which are successful and safe, but without having control of my own contact details I am not going to use the site again.

My experience with MyBuilder was positive - I found builders I trusted and was in control of my contact details. The reviews were very useful. The only downside is trying to work out which type of tradesperson I needed for my job as it didn't fit into a category neatly.

The items I ordered were good value, arrived quickly and were as described.

The items I ordered arrived safely but I don't feel it was made clear on the website that I would need to pay extra customs charges which hefted up the price. The items were also bigger than the description which has affected the usability and aesthetics.

I ordered a security light and camera from TLC. It arrived well packaged, as described and very quickly. Very impressed!
