NewOrg was the only platform we found that met both our budget and our "wish list" features. If we could do it all again, we would choose NewOrg. Cons: We initially sought a more customizable reporting platform. However, it's easy to submit a support ticket to build a new customized report, and the support team is very responsive. The reports feature has great options to help us present our data to the public and stakeholders in a user-friendly way. Overall: We were very satisfied with our choice to go with NewOrg. We are not their "typical" client, but they were able to customize their platform to accommodate all the quirks of our non-profit's programs, including building 3 custom portals for our stakeholders; building out custom, calculated fields that help us with our reporting; creating a variety of reports to answer the questions we need to be able to manage our programs and show our impact; and created custom solutions to help our team process client applications more accurately and more quickly. Additionally, most of those items (except the portals) were created in hours to days - not weeks to months like the other systems we have used. When we submit tickets, they are usually resolved in less than a day, and if not possible, they let us know when it will be complete. Implementation couldn't have been more collaborative, thought-provoking, focused, fun (yes actually fun!), and productive. It was truly a joy to implement this system and that's something I've never said before. Cons: We had a few items that we'd like to customize but can't, but none are dealbreakers. I love the reports and dashboards, they're a huge upgrade over our prior system, but a few more customization options, summation options, and visualization updates would go a long way. We were implementing new forms into the system, which we weren't sure we would be able to do exactly as we hoped, but the support went above and beyond to ensure we were able to carry out our exact vision. It has been a game changer for us. Cons: Because the system wasn't originally designed for the way we use it, we have to get a bit creative at times, but we are able to do this, which is great! We were able to work with the support team to be educated on how to use the system for our organizational needs and within each of the roles we play. Cons: Some of the ways in which to get things accomplished are heavy in the steps and how to accomplish them, or there can be one thing that is marked and messes up the way it communicates with other areas. Overall: I enjoyed working with Mr. Nicholas Rowan. He listened to our staff, he worked with our organization and was able to work through any issues that we had. It was great to work with him and his team, we appreciate that they worked so diligently with our team to deliver the product that we were seeking to enhance the productivity of our team.  You can build any number of reports your own way, changing the column names, ordering, sorting. And for things that are more complex you can drop in a SQL snippet to get exactly the data and format you want.
 Lets you construct "Print Forms" which can be used for letters, fancier reports, signable PDFs, and more if you know javascript.
 Has a customer facing portal. Customers have their own set of uploaded files, and can make payments online (PayPal).
 Roll your own API for pulling data out.
 Full auditability of who edited which record, what they did, and when.Cons: Some advanced features require a lot of familiarity with how the site works, up to and including knowing database table and field names. 
 Not much documentation so you'll rely on support or curiosity to fill gaps in your knowledge. Takes a while to understand all the moving parts.
 Some administrative menus aren't very intuitive.
 The great ability to customize things means you'll need to spend a fair amount of time customizing.Overall: A very interesting platform that gives you more access to your data and pages than many modern sites. There are multiple spots that enable you to write raw SQL so you can grab exactly the data you're looking for. And if you want you can make all sorts of patches on pages with a bit of javascript. Chances are that you'll need to spend a good amount of time up front thinking through the design for your workflow - which custom fields go with which types of records. But since you can configure it all on the fly you will only need to reach out to support when you don't know how to accomplish your thing. And their support has always been friendly to me.
