Tool Command Language (Tcl) is an interpreted language and very portable interpreter for that language. GraphicsMagick provides a set of commandline tools and programming APIs for manipulating, editing, and converting raster and vector images. It is derived from ImageMagick, with the objective of providing better stability and performance than ImageMagick while retaining the original MIT/X11 license.

Maxima is a computer algebra system comparable to commercial systems like Mathematica and Maple. It emphasizes symbolic mathematical computation: algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and much more. For example, Maxima solves x^2-r*x-s^2-r*s=0, giving the symbolic results [x=r+s, x=-s]. It can also calculate with exact integers and fractions, native floating-point, and high-precision big floats. Maxima has user-friendly front-ends, an online manual, plotting commands, and numerical libraries. It features its own programming language, and many users have contributed useful packages in various areas over the decades. It is GPL-licensed and largely written in Common Lisp. Executables can be downloaded for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android; source code is also available. An active community maintains and extends the system. Scid is a chess database application (cross-platform, for Unix/Linux and Windows) with many search and database maintenance features.

"Shane's Chess Information Database" is a huge chess toolkit with extensive database, analysis and chess-playing features. Scid vs. PC is a usability and bug-fix fork of Scid. It has many interface fixes and improvements, and is fully compatible with Scid's .si4 databases. New features include a rewritten Gamelist, Computer Tournament, and FICS, Tree, Book and Graph improvements.

It runs on Windows, Linux, and other UNIX operating systems. Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks out of the box: AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, MXit, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MySpaceIM, and Zephyr. It is written in C and makes heavy use of GLib and GTK+. Finch is a command line instant messaging program. It also lets you log in to accounts on multiple chat network simultaneously, and it is compatible with the same chat networks as Pidgin. It is written in C and makes heavy use of GLib and ncurses.

tcllib is a Tcl-only library of standard routines for Tcl (no compiling required). This project also houses the CVS modules for BWidgets, tclbench, mclistbox, tclapps, and tklib. All of these are deprecated in favor of the fossil repositories found at the sites listed below. The Hamlib project's purpose is to develop flexible and portable shared libraries that offer a standardized API to control any radio oriented equipment through a computer interface.

SSVNC adds encryption security to VNC. It provides a GUI for Windows, MacOSX, and Unix that automatically starts up an SSL or SSH tunnel for connections to any VNC server. It also supports VeNCrypt encryption. The Unix viewer has many new features.

PLplot is a cross-platform, scientific graphics plotting library that supports math symbols and human languages (via UTF-8 user input strings); plot capabilities for multiple non-interactive plot file formats and in multiple interactive environments; and bindings for multiple computer languages.

TkDND is an extension that adds native drag & drop capabilities to the Tk toolkit. It can be used with any Tk version equal or greater to 8.3.3 and currently only the UNIX (X-Windows), Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7) and OS X (Leopard) operating systems. The freeWrap program turns TCL/TK scripts into single-file binary executable programs. freeWrap can wrap TCL/TK applications that consist of multiple script and binary files. freeWrap combines all the files together into a single executable file.
