We visited the showroom/workshop with the need to assess the suite and chose the upholstery. We were made very welcome and given lots of help deciding on the quality of leather and cushion construction. It has just been delivered and does not disappoint. Quality and workmanship are excellent. Even the delivery team were special, they unpacked all items let us inspect and took away the packaging. A credit to English workmanship and service.

I liked the Newbury Modular sofa enough to recommend the exact same model to my mother. Unfortunately, the hard wooden edges can be felt through the middle join of my sofa during normal use, while this issue is not present on my mother’s identical sofa.

The company arranged an inspection, but the technician did not compare the two sofas and concluded there was no manufacturing fault. They then declined a further inspection and advised me that I would need to fund my own independent report if I wanted the complaint reconsidered.

What has been most upsetting is the lack of support after purchase. Several of my follow-up questions were not answered, and I do not feel that the specific issue I raised was properly investigated.

The sofa is attractive and I genuinely wanted to be happy with it, but based on how this complaint has been handled, I would not recommend this company.

The English Sofa Co were very helpful in providing information and color swatches whilst we were choosing our sofa. The level of detail on their website was very good, but they also provided phone support during the process. Having purchased a sofa, it arrived on time and the contractor making the delivery was excellent - moving the sofa into our first floor lounge and removing the old one.
The quality of our new sofa is excellent.

We're renovating a 1930's house and wanted retro sofas to match the overall look of the property.
The Waldorf is perfect for this with it's beautiful curved arms.
We visited the Salford showroom/workshop and Nathan looked after us so well. Answered our questions, explaining everything and giving recommendations without any pressure. We could take our time until we were sure.
The whole process from ordering to receiving was very easy and went like clockwork, the delivery men were excellent. Nothing phased them and they worked so well as a team.
The quality of workmanship on the 2 sofas we bought is superb. The leather is gorgeous and they are extremely comfortable.
We had a small issue on one cushion recently and I contacted Nathan who sorted it out without any problems at all.
I was able to drop the cushion off in Salford and it was returned to me quickly by parcel force. Really well wrapped for protection during transit.
We will have these sofas for many years I'm sure as they are so good. If I do ever need new ones , I would not hesitate to use this company again.

We are absolutely delighted with our two handmade sofas from The English Sofa Company. Being able to choose our own fabric was a huge bonus, as it meant we could create sofas that perfectly suit our room and personal style.

We were also very impressed with the delivery service. The two gentlemen who delivered our sofas were incredibly careful and considerate. As we asked for the sofas to be brought in through the window to make access easier, they thoughtfully covered our window sill to protect it, and they also removed their shoes before coming inside the house.

We had been looking for a high-quality sofa for a while, and it turns out The English Sofa Company was the way to go! Their sofas are made from solid wood, manufactured in the UK, and they even send out free fabric swatches.

We needed something durable that would last a long time, and we had very precise width requirements. We ended up choosing the Columbus Fabric Chaise Sofa in the 2.5-seater size (2.4m width) in the "Lovely Cypress" fabric.

While we had to wait a few weeks for delivery, it was well worth it—the sofa fits our space perfectly and is super comfy. Customer service was also fantastic; when we changed our minds about the leg color, a quick phone call was all it took to get our order updated.

The delivery service was equally great. The team was fast, polite, and very knowledgeable about how to assemble the pieces. We also visited the showroom to see the sofas and extra swatches in person, which was incredibly useful. Highly recommend!

From a swatch sample to ordering went brilliantly until my sofa was delivered where upon I noticed snagging in the stitching and the lining underneath wasn’t stuck down. Apart from that I can honestly say this is the most uncomfortable sofa I have ever purchased. So so disappointing!
PS. I did mention it to the delivery men and reported all but no one came back to me.

The sofa/bed arrived just in time for my son who was visiting at the time to try it out. He rates it excellent. The operation to convert it into a bed couldn't be easier, one swift pull of the bar and it's unfolded and the same to return it to sofa use again which is very comfortable and stylish; however, on the administration side the performance was not so good which is the reason for only four stars. The girl who dealt with the purchase, Jodie I think her name was, informed us we would have conformation of the sale within three days plus updates along through production. None of this happened which left us very concerned especially when it seems like every day now we are constantly being told to be wary of internet scams. After five weeks had passed I did email you for confirmation and an update report to which I received an apology and order of acknowledgement.
On the other hand your courier, Empire Delivery, were completely the opposite sending us notification as soon as they had the item in their care and constantly updating us on delivery date and times.
Would I use THE ENGLISH SOFA COMPANY again? Yes I would we are delighted with the product which looks great and at home in the room.

Very pleased with my sofa. It is good quality and I was impressed with the delivery team. I was a little disappointed with the order process, I did not receive an email confirming my order despite paying in full up front. I was only emailed once with an update during the process and despite expecting it to be delivered within 6 to 8 weeks it was actually 12 weeks from date of order to delivery.

Great customer service from ordering to delivery, communication was excellent too. It did take a long time from ordering to delivery, but its hand made in the UK, not in China and finished in the UK. From what I gathered the frame is made in Liverpool, and the upholstering and leather is finished in Wiltshire. Then a distributor collects it and delivers in and places it in the home. All in all pretty seamless, its a big thing in our home, but its what Mum ordered, so we have to like it.

From ordering to delivery was so easy. Any queries were dealt with immediately and the staff were very helpful and polite. The delivery went very smoothly and we received a call to tell us it would arrive early. We are so pleased with the sofa bed. It’s extremely well made and looks great. Five star service all round.
