I am disappointed with the customer service I received from Boataround. I rented a boat through their platform for over €3,000, and when a dispute arose with the charter company (Seadrive) regarding damage claims, I reached out to Boataround to help facilitate the issue, as Seadrive stopped replying to me.
It took two weeks for Boataround to respond, only for them to say there was nothing they could do. As a booking platform, I expected them to provide better support and act as a mediator in such disputes, especially given the significant amount I spent through their service. Instead, I felt left completely on my own to resolve the issue.
For anyone booking through Boataround, be aware that their customer service is limited when it comes to post-rental disputes. This is not the level of support I would expect from a company handling high-value bookings.

It is true that Boataround is limited in our scope of support when it comes to disputes over security deposits.. They are handled exclusively by the charter companies, as well as the boat damage assessments. We do our best to advocate for our customers with the information provided, but we may not prescribe dispute resolutions to our charter partners. And of course, if we can help further, we remain at your disposal.

I had a very disappointing experience with Seadrive and cannot recommend them based on how they handled the rental process and post-rental damage claims.
When we picked up the boat, no issues or damages were mentioned by Seadrive, despite their terms stating that the boats are delivered in "perfect" condition. I documented the boat thoroughly with photos and videos, which turned out to be critical later.
After we returned the boat, Seadrive claimed that a significant damage was caused by us. However, within 30 minutes, I was able to show them a video clearly proving that this specific damage was already there when we received the boat. Instead of acknowledging this, they quickly shifted their focus to another supposed damage. This feels highly unprofessional, and I firmly believe we did not touch anything or cause any damage to the boat.
Additionally, we experienced issues during the trip, including a non-functional dinghy engine and rainwater leaking into the boat. These problems were not addressed upfront, nor was the condition of the boat properly explained during check-in.
The handling of the situation was unprofessional, and the communication around the damage claims lacked transparency. I advise future renters to thoroughly document everything during check-in and to be extremely cautious, as my experience has shown that Seadrive’s inspection and claims process leaves much to be desired.
