Why come to How to Web gathering 6-8 Octomber? Simple - it is the most important event of the year in Romania venture capital - in size of participants, lineup of speakers, expo area, founders enthusiasm, investors real engagement. In two days you see everybody in VC there, and the international presence is quite impressive. Great news! A fantastic startup raised a significant ticket from our group of angels, and that company builds in medical innovation - a software for radiologists to better diagnose cancer. What a remarkable journey for Rayscape in the last weeks, announcing research and development grants, a new board member expert in the field and now raising a private round from new angels, who trust and believe in the team and the importance of the problem they are solving. Cristi Tudorescu lead our Bravva group through the process - the deep dive sessions, the group discussions, to make sure all interested angels have clarity to be able to make an informed decision. Congrats to Stefan Iarca (CEO and co-founder) for grit, intensity, ambition, vision and ability to build a business in such a regulated and rigid sector, as the medical one. The Pitch Perfect session nr 36 took place yesterday and our angels analyzed three opportunities for investing. Well prepared founders joined to pitch and the diversity was exciting: RepsMate - analysis software for call centers and intelligence. VENT D'EST FILMS - international commercial film production ELVO - software for ev charging stations The discussions were about traction and validation, markets and potential expansion, team and building a company, not just a product. All three startups will have a deep dive as a follow up with an interested group of angels, and if that meeting is convincing, they start due diligence and prepare contracts for signing a co-investment. Many thanks to Oana Cosman for making our recent event in August happen, and to our member Adrian Stefanescu for recommending we invite Dan Lupu - Venture Partner at Early Bird as a speaker for the August Ginger Night — which turned into a "Ginger Morning" over good coffee at DODA5. 🙏🏼 It was entertaining and educational (in the words of Laura Enache 😇, a recent members who joined the community) and packed with concrete takeaways. It was great to see so many founders from the portfolio—as well as aspiring ones—attend: Alin from RepsMate, Diana and Alin from Vestinda, Alex from CatHealth, Alex from Solmag, Bogdan from Bright Spaces, Larisa from Redwood Genetics, Mihai and Adrian from ELVO, and Stefan from Rayscape. Lesson from Dan were specific and relevant for tech founders and angel investing in modern technology. 💰 Key is not the product, but the go to market. 🌍 Markets are different and US is the one worth it. 🚲 Speed to iterate is essential. 🫅 There is one founder who takes the decisions mainly - find him/her. 🗣️ Let the founder do what they want and be available for help.
