Where am I?
I am based in Northumberland, close to Hadrian’s Wall. You can find upcoming conference travel on Notist.
Current focus
My role at Google as content lead for Chrome Web Developer Relations, working on web.dev and developer.chrome.com.
Running up massive hills and avoiding cows.
Creating a garden from the blank canvas of my new house, and doing various ill-advised DIY tasks.
Being generally annoying to my three cats.
On the Atmosphere

This is a lovely post. I'm quite often asked if people from different browsers argue with each other in CSS meetings. I usually say it's a lot more "huh... yeah that's not good ... how do we fix it?" That's especially true when it comes to the sort of situations described here.

Two of my cats have food bowls that only open when the bowl registers their microchip, to stop Pixel stealing food. Pixel has now developed the skill of sensing a cat approaching their bowl then sprinting over to jam his head in as it opens to snatch food.
I've been reading about the Border Reivers all weekend, and my shed (in the heart of Reiver country) feels a little hill fort-like too.

Here's Issue 345 of CSS Layout News. Lots of great how-to tutorials included this time.
A big reason for me speaking is that then people come and talk to me about interesting stuff, because I will hide in a corner if left to my own devices. I don't think this is uncommon among tech speakers.
Macromedia also had a content site, the first piece I had published somewhere other than my blog was a Dreamweaver article posted to the Macromedia site.
