In a recent conversation with Tradebyte, Francesca Padula, Senior Director of Digital Commerce at Metyis, shared her perspective on the factors shaping success in one of the world's most dynamic fashion markets. Francesca explores the continued strength of US consumer demand, the opportunities emerging for premium and luxury brands, the role of marketplaces in driving brand discovery, and why diversification remains critical to reducing commercial risk. She also highlights the growing need for operational flexibility and agility as customer behaviours, content consumption, and commerce channels continue to evolve. Ultimately, the discussion reinforces the importance of balancing strong partnerships with a diversified approach that enables brands to adapt, scale, and grow sustainably. Claudia Andrade heeft dit gedeeldA great read from Akshat Srivastava and Rebecca Serruya, two of our Digital Commerce leads at Metyis, on why CRM has become a critical growth lever for D2C businesses. As someone working in Performance Marketing, it really resonates. We spend so much time ( and money ) optimizing acquisition, but some of the biggest growth opportunities often sit within our existing customer base. The brands that will win are not choosing between CRM and Paid Media. They are connecting both to create better customer experiences, stronger retention, and higher lifetime value. Definitely worth a read if you're thinking about how growth strategies need to evolve in today's digital landscape. #CRM #PerformanceMarketing #Retention #LifeTimeValueClaudia Andrade heeft dit gedeeldWhy has CRM become such a critical growth lever for direct-to-consumer businesses? The reality is that the most commercially resilient direct-to-consumer (D2C) businesses are responding to rising ad rates, more expensive customer acquisition, and less predictable growth by unlocking the value in their existing customer base. Our team explores why and what it actually takes to build a CRM capability that delivers. #wearemetyis #partnersforimpact #WITPortoSummit #womenintechpt #porto --- What a joy it was to be part of the second Women in Tech® Portugal Porto Summit, in the company of so many talented and amazing people. Claudia Andrade heeft hierop gereageerdClaudia Andrade heeft hierop gereageerdThe US fashion landscape is evolving fast and relying on a single channel is no longer enough. In part two of our series “In talks with Metyis”, Alessia Gaspodini wraps up her conversation with Francesca Padula, Sr. Director of Digital Commerce at Metyis, to explore where US fashion is heading and how brands can stay agile. While giant platforms like Amazon and TikTok Shop dominate consumer attention, internal US demand for fashion and premium luxury remains remarkably strong. To capture this growth, brands need more than just a presence on a major marketplace, they need a flexible setup, a reliable multi-3PL network to meet delivery expectations, and strong human connections across wholesale, marketplace, and drop-ship. 🤝 Thank you, Francesca, for sharing your insights with us and cheers to our collaboration with Metyis! 🚀 Looking to expand into the US? Claudia Andrade heeft hierop gereageerdClaudia Andrade heeft hierop gereageerdWhat happens when AI doesn’t just assist customers, but acts on their behalf? That’s one of the questions Teresa Azevedo, Strategic Projects Lead at B-Parts, will explore as she joins fellow industry experts at the AI Commerce Summit, hosted by Metyis in collaboration with Google, on September 24. Under the theme “Reinventing Commerce: The Rise of Agentic Customer Experiences”, Teresa will discuss how AI agents are reshaping the customer journey, from discovering the right product to making decisions, completing purchases and building long-term relationships with brands. The way people shop is changing. And so is the role of technology in every step of that journey. We’re looking forward to being part of the conversation. 🚀

Unpopular opinion: "Scale what’s working" is terrible advice for 7-figure DTC brands. When a guru tells you to double down on your winning ads, they are missing a massive blind spot. Without unified data, you don’t actually know what’s working. Here is what is usually happening under the hood: Meta claims the conversion. Google takes the credit. Shopify shows a completely different payout. You aren't scaling a winning strategy. You are just feeding platform algorithms that grade their own homework. When you unify fragmented Shopify, Operations, Meta, and Google Ads data, the illusion disappears. You finally see what is actually making you money and what is just draining your cash flow. Stop scaling blind. Fix your attribution first. 📊 Founders: How often do your Meta/Google dashboards actually match your real Shopify payouts? Let’s talk in the comments. P.S. Tired of guessing which ads are actually driving profit? DM me "AUDIT" and let’s uncover where your data is lying to you.

For 3 years, the biggest complaint about PMax was the same: "I can't see what search terms are triggering my ads." Google heard it. And they actually delivered. Here's what changed: → Asset-level reporting now shows impressions, clicks, AND cost — not just conversions → Negative keywords expanded from 100 to 10,000 per campaign → Search theme limit doubled to 50 → Demographic targeting beta rolling out: age, gender, device → Text guidelines expanding to all advertisers Q1 2026 This is a fundamentally different product than what launched in 2022. You now have the same search term granularity you had in standard Search campaigns — inside PMax. With 10,000 negative keywords, you can sculpt traffic with surgical precision. With 50 search themes, you can direct Google's AI with real strategic intent. PMax in 2026 is a precision instrument. Treat it like one.

5 most common Black Friday ad mistakes (and how to avoid them) Every year, brands spend weeks polishing creatives, testing offers, and prepping budgets – only to lose money on the simplest mistakes. Here’s what we see most often during Black Friday (and what top-performing brands do differently). 1. Launching too late Most brands turn on ads mid-November. By then, CPMs skyrocket. 💡 What to do instead: Start testing in late October. Run soft “teaser” campaigns to build audiences and collect data. When the sale starts, Meta already knows who’s ready to buy. 2. One-size-fits-all offers “20% off everything” sounds simple, but it kills urgency. 💡 What to do instead: Segment your offer. Reward VIPs with early access or extra perks. For example, one of our D2C clients gave loyal customers a 1-hour head start – CTR grew by 32%. 3. Poor landing page experience Fast ad, slow site – you’ve just burned your budget. 💡 What to do instead: Optimize speed, simplify checkout, and match the ad promise. If your ad says “Shop the bestsellers,” don’t send traffic to a generic homepage. 4. Neglecting post-purchase flows Black Friday is a goldmine for retention – if you use it right. 💡 What to do instead: Automate follow-up emails with bundle offers or loyalty invites. A brand we work with turned 18% of BFCM buyers into repeat customers within 60 days. 5. No plan for ad fatigue Everyone’s feed is flooded with black backgrounds and red tags. 💡 What to do instead: Prepare 3–4 creative versions per audience. Rotate daily. Test lifestyle shots or UGC instead of traditional “sale” graphics – they often cut CPMs by 20–30%. This year, competition will be brutal, but small tactical shifts can double your return. How early did you start prepping your BFCM campaigns?

New in GA4: hostname filters, only a few years late 🥲 No more staging and spam traffic polluting your reports. 👇 #GA4 finally added a clean way to exclude traffic by hostname. The UA-style filter was gone for years, so most people built a workaround in #GTM or just lived with messy numbers. Now they built it in. You filter by hostname directly in the admin settings. A few things you can finally clean up: → Staging and dev sites inflating sessions and conversions → Ghost spam hitting your Measurement ID from hostnames that aren't yours → Or use it to separate subdomain traffic per property How to set it up: 1. Go to Admin > Data Settings > Data Filters 2. Click Create Filter and pick "Traffic from the specified hostname" 3. Choose Include only and add your valid domains 4. Leave it on Testing first, then switch to Active Two things worth knowing: - It's not retroactive. It only filters data going forward - Run it in Testing before activating. A mistake drop real traffic. One catch: if you run an App + Web setup, #Firebase data has no hostname, so this won't help there. Happy analysing ✌️

CRO & CTA: “Stop asking people to click” What if your CTA is the reason they’re not converting? Not your offer. Not your UX. Just... your button. We don’t talk enough about how most ecommerce CTAs are vague, passive, and desperate. “Learn more.” “Shop now.” “See collection.” (Just to name a few...) That’s not a call to action. That’s a call to nowhere. Why it matters: Conversion doesn’t die because your site is broken. It dies because your CTA doesn’t do what it says: move people to act. When someone’s on your PDP, they’re not “browsing”. They’re deciding. You either give them a reason to move forward, or you lose them to friction, doubt, or distraction. 🧠 “Your CTA is not a button. It’s the final line of your argument.” Good CTAs don’t just tell you what to do. They remind you why. Which works better: => “See all colors” => Or: “Pick your favorite shade — ships in 48h”? Same button. Different result. Because one triggers emotion, urgency, and clarity. The other blends into the noise. My take (from 60+ split-tests these last 3 years): ✔️ The best CTAs are specific, time-sensitive, and user-centric. ✔️ They don’t ask for clicks. ✔️ They reward action. What’s the worst (or best) CTA you’ve seen this month? Do you test your button copy, or just the color? #CRO #UXWriting #eCommerceTips #CTADesign #ConversionStrategy #ABTesting #MicroCopy #DirectToConsumer #GrowthDesign #PerformanceMarketing ______________________________________________________________ Leading eCommerce for omnichannel brands. Personal PPC experiments that gave us a lot of insights, that we later implemented on our client's websites Short story: We were sending good traffic to the wrong page. Long Story: For months I blamed the ads. Wrong keywords, wrong bids. Then I read the numbers. 2,816 clicks, 39 leads. The page converted at 1.38%. But those leads closed at 30.77%, better than any other channel we run. So the targeting worked. We were losing people that ads had already won. Most landing pages are just the homepage with a different headline. I see it in almost every ad account we audit: • search ad answering one question, pointed at a homepage that lists ten services • landing page nobody has edited since launch day • team that can't change the page without a dev ticket, so they change the ad instead Two questions decide where traffic should land. What did the ad promise? Whatever they searched for belongs at the top of the page. A homepage can't do that, it's written for everyone at once. !!!Brand searches are the exception. __ If an edit needs a ticket or a review cycle, you don't have a landing page. You have a brochure with a form on it. > So default to a dedicated page, built around the one promise the ad made. > Homepage only when someone typed your name. We spent months optimizing the half of the funnel we were allowed to edit. Open your highest-spending ad group and click it like a stranger. Does the page answer what the ad promised? Share in the comments, your experience with PPC and is it still working?

The PPC Salary Survey 2026 is out. Agency vs. in-house (EU): The gap is interesting. At the 3–5 year mark, in-house clearly pays better (€46k vs. €30k median). But the picture flips at 6–9 years as agency comes in higher (€56k vs. €51k), and again at 10–15 years (€55k vs. €65k average, though medians are closer). The sample sizes get small at the extremes, so take with a grain of salt, but the pattern suggests agency can reward you more once you're senior. 5-year trend (EU overall): The 3–5 year band has actually dropped this year from €42k in 2025 back down to €37.2k. The mid-senior band (6–9 yrs) has slowly recovered from a dip in 2023 and is now at €56k. The 10–15 year band is the clearest growth story, up from €50k in 2024 to €65.6k now. Germany vs. Netherlands: Germany has notably stronger medians at the 10–15 year level (€84k vs. €57.6k), but the Netherlands overtakes at 6–9 years (€77.9k vs. €65k). For your own positioning at 10–15 years in Berlin, the German benchmark is encouraging, the Berlin data shows a €73k median at that level specifically. UK: In-house pays significantly more once you're mid-senior (£80k median at 10–15 yrs vs. £49.8k agency). The London premium is real — £60k median at 6–9 years vs. £48k outside London. Most attribution debates miss the point entirely. The tool doesn't matter if your 1st-party data infrastructure can't capture the signal. Someone sees your Meta ad. Doesn't click. Then later searches your brand name and clicks a Google ad. Your attribution tool gives Google 100% credit. Meta gets nothing. But the real problem isn't the attribution methodology. It's that your infrastructure is missing valuable signals that are actually happening. Ad blockers, ITP, cookie restrictions. They're blocking the signal before your attribution tool even sees it. You're not just missing top-of-funnel impressions. You're missing bottom-of-funnel conversions too. Recently, I saw this play out in a debate between an agency owner and an attribution tool rep. The agency owner's attribution showed a 5x gap. Meta reported 68 customers. Shopify showed 353 total. The attribution tool's point: "𝘞𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦." The agency owner's counter: "𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬." That exchange captures the core problem: 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲. The solution isn't another attribution tool. It's fixing the foundation they all rely on. • Edge-based tracking sits before browser restrictions hit. It captures clicks and conversions that third-party tools miss because of ad blockers, browser privacy settings, and cookie restrictions. • Server-side imports feed that clean first-party data directly into ad platforms through CAPI. No third-party containers. No UTM lag. No ad blocker gaps. When you combine that with MMM using spend ratios, you get a real picture of what's driving growth. MMM measures top-line impact across all channels. Optimized first-party data infrastructure ensures platforms have the signal they need to optimize toward actual conversions, not just the ones they can see. You capture more of the customer journey. Platforms optimize on cleaner data. MMM shows you the real impact of top-of-funnel spend that broken infrastructure hides. Your attribution tool can't work if your infrastructure isn't capturing the signal. Fix infrastructure first. Then attribution tools can actually help you make better decisions. You start scaling what actually drives growth instead of optimizing on incomplete data.
