It was a blast! During the day we went through a few exercises starting from emergency braking and finished with the moose test.

This wasn't my first extreme driving course so I know the ropes somewhat, but I wasn't too comfortable with throwing my new car around due to very different weight distribution. Ilya was happy to help and explain as much theory as necessary and as clearly as possible.

Things to note:

First, expect high tire wear. Not joking, this is serious stuff, especially if you always wanted to play with weight transfer and try to skid/drift.

Second, you'll be hitting traffic cones a lot, expect at least some light scratches. Still hilarious as hell when a cone flies from under your car at Mach 1 after a 10th failed moose evasion maneuver.

You get Really useful driving skills, and of course hope that they will never be necessary irl :)

The basic course contain 3 exercises all of which are focused on getting to know your car and it’s borderlines.
It was really helpful to find out how does ABS work and when does ESP engage on my car. Now I won’t be surprised!

Ilya is a really good and kind teacher with a lot of driving experience. The only disadvantage may be location? But of you live nearby Coimbra then it would be a huge advantage :)

I took the defensive driving course twice — last year and again this year (because I changed my car). Both times I was very happy with it. Ilya explains everything clearly, shows each exercise in practice, and makes sure I can do it myself. I have a issue — I turn the steering wheel too slowly — and after the lessons I feel much more confident, understand my car better, and react faster on the road.

I also want to highlight the atmosphere. Each time I was the only woman in the group, and didn't feel any disrespect, toxicity, or discomfort. On the contrary — it was fun, comfortable, engaging, and very useful.

Highly recommend!

Got a safety driving course twice. It was a great experience to get to know your car and how to handle it in extreme conditions. The course was greatly organized and was as fun as it was useful. Ilya is a great mentor, very supportive, and kind.
I'll definitely return again.
