Extremely Disappointed With Nikon…
Extremely Disappointed With Nikon Lenses and Nikon Customer Service
I purchased Nikon progressive lenses in Canada and paid approximately $650 CAD for the lenses alone, specifically because I trusted the Nikon name and expected premium quality, durability, and customer service.
Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
After an issue with my original prescription, the lenses were eventually replaced with Nikon progressive lenses made according to my updated prescription. However, in less than one year, the replacement Nikon lenses became cloudy/hazy and began causing significant glare and light scattering at night, which is particularly disturbing while driving.
For premium lenses at this price, I did not expect this kind of deterioration in such a short period.
When the optical store refused to take responsibility, I contacted Nikon Lenswear Canada directly through their contact channels and explained the situation in detail. I received no meaningful response. I then contacted Nikon customer service by phone, hoping that Nikon would at least investigate the quality of its product.
Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed by the response. I did not feel that my concern was taken seriously, and I was offered no meaningful assistance or reasonable solution.
I understand that Nikon may not be responsible for an optometrist's prescription. However, my complaint to Nikon concerns the quality and premature deterioration of Nikon-branded lenses and Nikon's response when a customer reports a potential quality problem.
I paid a premium price because I believed I was purchasing a premium product backed by a reputable international brand. Based on my experience, neither the durability of the lenses nor the customer support met those expectations.
I have lost confidence in Nikon Lenswear. If this is the level of support provided when expensive Nikon lenses develop a problem in less than a year, I cannot recommend Nikon lenses to others.
