Let `Legacy` be left behind
We have been renting the Travessa São João apartment since August 2024, paying rent as agreed. Over time, especially before the summer and winter tourist seasons, the behaviour of the management changed and pressure increased.
At the start of the tenancy, we were explicitly allowed to move some belongings into the apartment one week early, without living there. Despite following this agreement exactly, we were accused of already occupying the apartment, which set an early pattern of unfounded accusations.
There was a designated place for a washing machine, and we were explicitly promised one, but it was never provided. The apartment was also marketed to us as having a sauna; however, the sauna was never working at any point during the tenancy.
In July 2025, we began receiving late-night WhatsApp and email messages from several people, with pressure and ultimatums to leave immediately or remove our dog. We were accused of a condominium issue allegedly involving our dog, even though keeping a dog was not prohibited by the contract. The accusation did not match our dog’s description, no proof was provided, and no apology or any response followed.
There were also attempts to arrange visits without proper notice, including a request on behalf of an unknown person (“Denys”), who is not named in the contract. A later visit was justified by a CTT letter that tracking showed had not yet been delivered at the time.
The contract itself contains sloppy drafting and internal inconsistencies, as well as clauses that function as self-eviction pressure tools in practice (for example, wording about immediate termination and vacating by letter, deposit forfeiture tied to early termination, broad visit rights, and service-cancellation clauses). This matched how issues were handled and created a pattern that felt like self-eviction tactics rather than professional property management. Our main contact was Antonio P. We would not recommend this management based on our experience.
