What a wonderful day in Gerez national Parc! The peace and quiet of the river (loved the kajaking so much!), the beautiful scenery and breathtaking pool in the woods the stops at local cafes (best ever pastel de nata!), the cool music during the ride ;) and all the local information: totally energized and so happy to have booked this tour. Our guide Mikas was the best, so friendly, welcoming and supportive: thanx so much, it was great meeting you! Book this trip, you will be amazed!

Great experience, very worthwhile and highly enjoyable. We did happen to have a really friendly group of people. The host, Miguel was particularly helpful, fun, entertaining, accommodating and communicative and made the trip even better. I would highly recommend booking through this tour company as it was an excellent experience

I booked this tour thinking it would be an easy walk because the itinerary said “easy,” but as a London city girl who only knows flat national parks, this turned out to be a proper hike for me. I was honestly scared at first and didn’t think I could do it.

I struggled with the steep parts, and this is where Miguel Ribeiro made all the difference. He guided me down the difficult sections and helped me keep my balance in a very patient and reassuring way. Without his support, I would have given up.

And I’m so glad I didn’t, because the waterfalls were incredible and the views were absolutely spectacular. The “no pain, no gain” was worth it in the end.

The restaurant at lunch also catered well for vegan/vegetarian options, which was perfect for me.

Overall, an amazing trip and well worth it, but truly, it was Miguel who made it possible. Thank you for showing me the beauty of Gerês and for being so supportive throughout the trip 😀

This wild jeep safari with Miguel as our tour guide was fantastic!!! We hiked to beautiful waterfalls, and Miguel safely led us through the national park, sharing many interesting stories about the region and nature. Thank you so much for this wonderful day, and the shared playlist in the car was extra cool!

19 April 2026 Porto, Portugal - We joined a small-group (6 pax) tour organised by OPORTO ADVENTURE TOURS to Peneda-Gerês National Park from Porto, and it was the highlight of our amazing travel at Porto.

Our guide, Miguel, was excellent—friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and very engaging. He gave clear explanations about the park, local traditions, and history, while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable throughout the day.

Special mention to our driver, Isidro. He was extremely skilled, confidently handling the rugged terrain in a vintage 4x4 Land Rover 110. The bumpy off-road driving added to the adventure, and we really appreciated the smooth and safe long journey from Porto to Peneda-Geres and back.

The itinerary was well thought and planned out from the walk through beautiful forest trails, planting an oak tree, visited a traditional olive oil mill, and explored a fascinating “wolf village” (Fafiao) where we learned about the “Fojo do Lobo”, a very well-preserved ancestral trap used for luring and killing Iberian wolves to protect the villagers livestock.

The unforgettable would be the swimming at waterfall and the hidden waterfall—the water was very cold, but super refreshing and a lot of fun. It felt like a secret spot away from the crowds.

Lunch in a local village was also excellent—simple, authentic, and delicious.

Overall, this tour offers a perfect mix of nature, culture, and adventure. With a small group, a great guide and a highly skilled driver, the whole experience felt personal and well-paced. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Porto and looking to explore the real beauty of Peneda-Gerês. Ciao.

An amazing experience, discovering Gêres National Park. You will be doing things like kayaking, standup paddle, visiting and swimming in lagoons near beautiful waterfalls. All of this is shared on a tour with people from all over the world, giving us the fantastic opportunity to talk to them and learn their stories too. Our guide Nuno was absolutely welcoming, friendly, and kind, chatting with everyone and providing a memorable experience.

I've done a number of tours over the years in different countries, but my tour to Geres National Park stood out from the rest. Kata was exceptional! She was personable, very informed about the area, and all around a genuinely friendly person, who really enjoys her job! I highly recommend this company!

Die Tour in den Peneda-Gerês Nationalpark war für meine Tochter und mich ein absolutes Highlight unserer Reise nach Porto. Einfach alles war fantastisch. Lena war eine herausragende Tourguide, die sichergestellt hat, dass es allen aus der Gruppe zu jeder Zeit gut ging und wir alle eine gute Zeit haben konnten. Sie hat uns soviel über die Region erzählt, wir haben viel gelernt, haben köstliches Essen im Dorf Fafiao gegessen, waren wandern und beim Wasserfall baden. Wir waren eine Gruppe aus ganz unterschiedlichen Leuten und schon nach sehr kurzer Zeit fühlte es sich an, als ob eine Gruppe von guten Freunden unterwegs ist, auch dank Lena! Es war wirklich ein Erlebnis, dass wir immer in Erinnerung behalten werden und das ich jeden von Herzen empfehlen kann!

Mika is the best, Music was on Point ! Wonderful Day in the national Park! We make a offroad Tour and Kajak Drive and hike to the waterfalls. Lunch was very good.
It was Amazing.
