Very disappointing experience with Copart

I purchased a motorcycle through a Copart broker and was extremely disappointed with the condition of the bike compared with what was visible and reasonably expected from the listing.

There were several visible issues that were not properly described, including a loose exhaust that was held by only one bolt, missing hardware/O2 sensor connections, loose fairing components, loose passenger foot pegs, and clear signs that parts had been removed, replaced, or swapped. These are not minor cosmetic issues—they are important condition details that should have been disclosed in the auction description.

I contacted Copart to report the issues and request a resolution. Unfortunately, Copart considered the matter closed because the purchase was made through a broker. I then contacted the broker, and they told me they do not manage or inspect the lot and therefore could not do anything about the condition of the motorcycle.

So, in the end, the customer is left with the loss.

My frustration is not only with the motorcycle itself, but with the lack of accountability. If obvious visible issues and missing/swapped parts are not going to be disclosed, buyers need to be aware that they may have very little recourse afterward.

I expected better transparency and customer support from Copart. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously affected my confidence in buying from Copart again.

If I could give no stars I would. Compart of Atl. Are thieves. They stole ¾ of my cars contents. It would not have been the towing yard, they work w/police, & have cameras everywhere. Losing my car was bad enough, but to add insult to injury takes the cake. No help from management. Ive lost soo much in this ordeal. Cannot begin to express my pain. My car was meticulously cared for. 2015 Turbo Diesel Jetta, worth a lot!! 36,000 miles. She was my baby!! Get your items as quick as you can!

Absolute scam company. Take all your personal details, but never actually turn up to pick the car up. They arranged a date twice to pick the car up and never showed up, cancelling at the last minute both days. Do not trust this company.

At first dealing with Copart was fine. I did my part quickly and it all moved along fairly quickly for my totaled vehicle. I spoke to customer service on a 3 separate occasion with no issues. However, that drastically changed. Weeks went by with zero update. When they needed documents from me they were able to give me information. Once they had the car and documents they told me because my Husband was the title holder he is the only one who they would speak to. I am the insured and the one who filed the claim with insurance. I requested to speak to a manager, and they refused because I again not the title holder. Now a month without a car because they are lagging.

One hand doesn’t know what the other hand is doing. I have waited two days — two wasted days of my limited life — to have a vehicle picked up (for Powersports). When I call Copart I get someone telling me they will message someone else, annd so on, and then no one phones me or shows up. Nada. Horrible company!

Very bad experience! Most car listings dont show clear details or photos, some cars came in conditions that were not mentioned in the listing of the car, additional damage, photos taken in bad angles, videos (if exist) of the engine are placed in different angles that dont show the inside of the car, bought a car with one damage from Copart, then when the car arrived, we noticed it had hale all over! Especially the roof and the hood, this was not mentioned nor shown in the photos, when you contact them, they say this is out of our service because it has been like 3 months, we reported to them right after receiving the car! We couldnt check it in person, car had very clear photos during every part of shipping, it was clear that the hale was in the auction listing and it was not shown, they keep saying they cant help us with this issue, beware of this auction!

In meinen Augen ist das Betrug etwas schön zu reden un dim Nachhinein hatte ich eine Panne auf der Autobahn. Ich musste über 300 km noch fahren bis ich zu Hause angekommen wäre. Der Verein schildert dass das Auto fahrbereit ist. War es ABER NICHT. Ein Auto ist dann fahrbereit wenn man es auch fahrbereit ist indem man sich sicher ist dass alles technische überprüft wurde bevor es an den Kunden geht.

Hier gibt man sich überhaupt keine Mühe alles durch zu checken damit der Kunde wenn er das Auto doch abholt dass er sicher nach Hause damit fahren kann.

Daher kann ich das keinem hier empfehlen. Weil das alles sehr riskant ist.

was going to buy a car at auction in TX , I called three wrecker services and all three refused to got to copart because copart makes it to hard to pick up a car, Ive been doing business with copart for ten years and they are a very hard company to deal with.... Id give them a zero stars

Empresa nefasta, ya antes de venir a retirar el vehículo me pedían firmar un documento conforme el vehículo se entregaba sin papeles, que estaban perdidos, sin ser verdad, tengo fotos y todo de la entrega de los papeles.... 1 mes después de la retirada aún estoy peleándome para q me pasen el paper del cambio de titularidad y se pasan la pelota con cartakeback. Un desastre, no los recomiendo para nada.

First class service, she went the extra mile. It may only have been a car to most people, but this was my pride and joy, written off (not my fault).

Unfortunately, upon receiving it, I've discovered it doesn't start, run, or drive at all. I even tried using an external battery, but that didn't help either. Copart Woodhaven,Sec.of State Trenton both Michigan,you bid,accept crazy fees,get it delivered,and wait for title,months,title was right at Copart,seen it signed it,then wait,wait,wait,you get so sick looking at the mistake you bought,can't drive it,you're paying insurance on it. You paid for mail service,you sign a power of attorney. Maybe it's in the mailbox,go look,nope. Who sells cars like this?

Disappointing experience with Copart

My insurance company sent my 2015 BMW 320i xDrive to Copart after the accident. When I received my BMW, I noticed that all four factory jack points were missing/damaged. I also noticed that the license plate frame was missing.

I understand that the BMW was involved in an accident, but the factory jack points are important for safely lifting the vehicle. I was disappointed to discover these issues when I received my car.

I’m not accusing anyone of intentionally removing anything, but I believe Copart should properly document the condition of a vehicle while it is in their possession. This has caused me additional inconvenience and expense while I’m trying to repair my BMW.

⭐ 1-Star Review — Very Unfair Experience

About two years ago, I paid approximately $1,800 for a Copart membership. I later placed a bid on a 2010 SUV located in Calgary. I tried three times to cancel the bid through the system, but it would not allow me to cancel.

I immediately contacted Copart and explained the problem, but I was told that I was required to purchase the vehicle. I felt trapped by a system that allowed me to place a bid but provided no reasonable way to withdraw it, even after I contacted the company for help.

In my experience, this was an unfair and extremely disappointing business practice. Customers paying expensive membership fees deserve a transparent cancellation policy, functional controls and proper support—not a system that leaves them feeling forced to purchase a vehicle.

I strongly advise potential customers to read every condition carefully before paying for a membership or placing any bid. Copart should investigate these practices and improve its bidding and cancellation system.

Hi everyone be aware of this auction it is a big scam to the general public it has two accounts on trust pilot avoid at all cost well known scam in bidding on there vehicles.they have there own private sellers bidding on there own vehicles and will push the price up to the maximum limit . They will send you an automated message to say sorry and ask for more information. It is a big scam this auction look at how many people have lost there money in this auction so many bad reviews

0 stars, customer service is terrible. Cant cancel bids after mistakenly placing one, customer service wont help in any way, created a ticket and they told me that they cant do anything even though I bid 5min ago.

I don't recommend it. Every time on auction day, minutes before the lot closes, the system crashes, you can't place your bid, and the lot disappears.

We are making this review AFTER exhausting every reasonable avenue available to resolve this matter directly with Copart.
We purchased a watercraft through Copart's online auction from the Madison South, WI facility. The listing identified the watercraft as having "Vandalism" and "Mechanical" damage. After transporting it home and conducting a thorough inspection, we discovered that the complete jet drive assembly, driveshaft, reverse gate assembly, wiring harnesses, and other major propulsion components had been stripped off. Additionally, portions of the rear body panels had been secured with concealed zip ties that made the rear of the watercraft LOOK substantially more complete in the listing photographs than what it really was in real life.
Absolutely NONE of these material conditions were disclosed in the listing description, notes, or photographs. Had they been disclosed or reasonably apparent, we would never have placed a bid.
Since discovering these issues, we have contacted Copart Member Services, worked directly with the General Manager of the Madison South facility, submitted multiple support tickets, requested an independent Corporate review, and filed complaints with Wisconsin consumer protection and regulatory agencies and BBB. At no point has Copart directly addressed where these conditions were disclosed in the online listing. Our complaint is that Copart's online listing did NOT represent the actual condition of what was being sold to us as remote bidders.
Copart publicly represents that buyers can rely on its online listings to make informed purchasing decisions. The handling of this transaction is inconsistent with those representations and we would absolutely NOT recommend doing business with this company. BBB did their best to help us get this resolved, but Copart stands firm in their judgement of the situation. We will be sharing our story publicly everywhere we can to ensure that no one else gets taken advantage of like us.

hello everyone .. please everyone who is thinking and wants to receive the car through copart delivery please read this message so you don't suffer like me .. go and pick up the car yourself or look for a broker please .. copart delivery is crazy bad and customer service as well almost 2 months and didn't receive the car yet only lies and delay every day .. I will never ask for copart delivery again, even if it were free..
