I have an empty property that is on the market for sale and just needed to set up an account to make payment whilst it is empty. Couldn’t ring anyone and had to go through chat feature. Whilst the advisor was pleasant enough it was clear they were just working from a script and asking questions that were not relevant to my query. Nowhere is there a facility to complete a task that’s a bit different to the usual moving home scenario. On a number of occasions a question was posed asking whether I’d be charging an electric car, or was anyone living there vulnerable etc. I had to keep reiterating that the property is empty. Also there’s no concessions on the standing charges either.

I'm sorry you feel this way Karen and it's shame you were left unsatisfied after that experience, though it is true our advisors do follow a script when processing these requests just know it's done to ensure all circumstances are covered from a health and safety stand point.
