- the lower face 320 of the distal part 32 of the support bar optionally has a recess 325 (see also ) reducing its contact surface with part 20b of the screen, so as not to exert excessive stress on it.
- This recess 325 creates an additional residual volume, but one that is itself small enough not to be conducive to the encapsulation of air bubbles.

- the beveled face 320 of its distal part 32 comes into contact with the part 20b of the screen along a transverse contact line seen in cross-section on the and materialized by a point CL.
- This line of contact forms the tangent between the plane of the rear face 320 of the distal part and a hypothetical cylinder in which part 16b of the rear wall 16 would be inscribed.
- the display 21 has a thickness of approximately 0.16 mm and the touch module 22 has a thickness of approximately 0.15 mm. A layer of adhesive between these two elements is approximately 0.025 mm thick.
- the protective sheet 23 has a thickness of approximately 0.07 to 0.08 mm, and a layer of adhesive between the touch module 22 and the protective sheet 23 is approximately 0.05 mm thick.

- the display 21 comprises an active area 211 (display area) and a frame 212, and is made on a flexible substrate 213.
- the flexible substrate 213 extends beyond the active area 211 and receives a row and column multiplexer 214, as well as the aforementioned connector 215, enabling it to be connected to the printed circuit board.
- the touch module 22 comprises a cover surface 220 and a frame 221, the assembly being mounted on a flexible support 222.
- the cover surface 220 includes a touch area 220a and a non-touch area 220b.

- the retaining bar 30' is positioned above the housing 5 so that its mounting tabs 34', 35' fit into the shoulders 130, 140 of the housing.
- the retaining bar 30' is then secured by inserting the screws 50, 51 into the tapped holes 131, 141.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a portable electronic device comprising a housing having a front wall, a rear wall, a rounded edge connecting the front wall and the rear wall, and a screen extending over the front wall and over the rounded edge, the screen comprising a termination extending over the rear wall.
The HW device offers the ergonomic advantage of being able to display information both on its front face 15 and on the rounded edge 11. However, its industrial-scale production can present challenges. Unlike some mobile phones that have a screen with a rounded edge at an angle of only a few degrees, the rounded edge 11 here has a 180° angle. This necessitates that the screen 20 have a termination that extends onto the rear face 16 of the housing in order to connect it to a printed circuit board (PCB), for example, using a CR connector. The portion 16b of the wall 16, inclined towards the inside of the housing, is designed to facilitate the penetration of the screen termination into the housing. However, the screen may occasionally detach from part 16b, or components of the screen may detach from each other in the area where the screen passes over part 16b. This increases the number of defective devices produced and therefore affects manufacturing yields. Furthermore, a void, or volume 200, extending between the rear face of the housing and part 16b typically needs to be filled with adhesive. Air bubbles can become trapped in the adhesive, and these bubbles, expanding under the influence of heat, can damage the device, which also affects manufacturing yields.
It might therefore be desirable to improve the structure of such a portable electronic device and its manufacturing process, in order to reduce the risks of manufacturing defects and improve manufacturing yields.

The manufacturing process of an electronic device which has just been described, involving the support bar 30 or 30’, makes it possible to prevent the part 20b of the screen 20 from detaching from the inclined part 16b of the rear wall 16 or to prevent the touch module 22 from detaching from the display 21 in this same region, which can occur when the touch module is more rigid than the display.
This process also avoids the formation of air bubbles in the glue by occupying the volume 200 (figures 4, 8, 9) with the distal part 32, 32’ of the retaining bar 30, 30’, especially if the embodiment 30’ of the retaining bar is retained.
Also, and incidentally but advantageously, the upper face of the proximal part 31 or 31’ of the retaining bar 30 or 30’ can serve as a support for an edge of the hood 17. In this case, a wall 330, 330’ of the intermediate part 33, 33’ of the retaining bar 30, 30’ can also serve as a lateral stop for the hood 17, as seen in figures 4 and 8.
It will be clear to the person skilled in the art that the retaining bar 30, 30’ and the housing which receives it are susceptible to various other variants and embodiments, particularly with regard to the shape of the retaining bar, its means of attachment to the housing, as well as the profile of the rear face of the housing on which its distal part 32, 32’ rests to keep the screen pressed against the housing.
Although the previously described embodiments relate to a touchscreen comprising a display and a touch module, the manufacturing process just described also applies to the fabrication of a device comprising only a display without a touch module. In one embodiment, the HW1 portable electronic device fabricated according to this process is a hardware crypto-asset wallet as described in international application WO 2024/056964, the main processor of which is a secure element configured to perform cryptographic calculations and, in particular, to sign transactions intended to be recorded on a blockchain.
