Abstract

The present invention discloses a technical sock for use thereof by sportspeople, mainly football players, with a structure that optimises transpiration. The main structure is made from recycled taslanised continuous six-channel polyester, antibacterial polyamide-coated elastane yarn and polyamide-coated elastane yarn having a density between 100 and 300 deniers and it facilitates the egress/expulsion of moisture to the outside. The sock further includes recycled taslanised continuous six-channel polyester, antibacterial polyamide-coated elastane yarn and two-strand twisted polyamide in the toe cap section and the rear section. Lastly, the sock includes an annular section in the shinbone area with recycled taslanised continuous six-channel polyester, antibacterial polyamide-coated elastane yarn and polyamide-coated elastane yarn having a density between 400 and 600 deniers.

Technical sock for athletes.

TECHNICAL SECTOR

The present invention relates to a technical sock that has been specially designed for use by athletes, mainly soccer players.

The object of the invention is to provide a technical sock in which sectors with different structures are defined, providing different functionalities, in order to optimize the performance of the soccer player, functionalities such as breathability and expulsion of moisture to the outside, anti-bacterial properties, maximum adaptability, localized muscle compression, localized padding for greater comfort, as well as sectors with anti-slip properties.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

When practicing sports, such as soccer or other sports, it is essential to have the appropriate equipment that allows the activity to be performed with optimal performance and maximum comfort. In this sense, it is important that socks, garments in direct contact with the human body, offer adequate breathability, comfort, and hygiene to minimize the risk of skin injuries. Furthermore, to optimize sports practice and minimize the risk of injuries, it is desirable that the sock additionally offer the required degree of compression for each area of the foot, as well as anti-slip properties, since known sports socks often cause the foot to slip inside the footwear itself due to the presence of sweat and/or the material comprising the inner sole of the shoe. Within the scope of practical application of the invention, although socks are known that have different sections to define reinforced areas or greater padding that improve the comfort of the sock, the existence of socks that combine all the described functionalities in a single device, guaranteeing comfort, hygiene, adaptability, and localized compression appropriate for sports practice, is unknown. EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION

The technical sock for footballers proposed by the invention fills the technical gap described above, offering optimal performance in use, by virtue of the following properties/functionalities:

- Transpiration and expulsion of moisture to the outside.

- Anti-bacterial properties.

- Maximum adaptability,

- Localized muscle compression capacity.

- Localized padding for greater comfort and garment reinforcement.

- Sectors with anti-slip properties.

To this end, and based on the conventional structure of a sock, it has been planned to define sectors of different nature, depending on the anticipated needs of each area of the user's foot.

More specifically, the following materials are used in the sock of the invention, in different combinations depending on the areas or sectors with different technical functionality that are defined in the sock:

- Recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester.

- Elastane thread coated with antibacterial polyamide.

- Medium density elastane thread coated with polyamide.

- High-density elastane thread coated with polyamide.

- Twisted two-strand polyamide for the formation of a padded area as reinforcement.

- Non-slip thread (Optional).

The sock features a base construction made entirely of recycled, continuous six-channel taslanized polyester and elastane yarn coated with antibacterial polyamide. These materials are combined with the rest of the yarns and materials mentioned in the different sectors defined in the sock, to provide them with the desired functionalities. Regarding recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, it should be noted that taslanized polyester is obtained by using a jet of pressurized air directed at a certain angle and level of turbulence onto the continuous fibers, creating small loops in the filaments on the surface of the fibers, which causes them to become tightly entangled with each other.

This improves the appearance of the yarns and makes their weaving process easier. At the same time, they resemble conventional staple fibers, giving them a natural fiber appearance.

The multi-channel structure facilitates the escape/expulsion of moisture from the outside, so the sock does not absorb moisture, but instead transports it to the outside, helping to keep the skin dry. Advantageously, this translates into a cotton-like feel, improving the sensation compared to other conventional textures where the foot slips or is wet, since the fibers are not tangled as in the taslanized polyester used in the invention.

Regarding the elastane yarn coated with antibacterial polyamide, which preferably includes ionic silver salt, this provides antibacterial properties to the sock, preventing the growth of bacteria. This yarn will be distributed over the most sweaty areas of the foot, such as the sole.

For its part, medium-density elastane yarn coated with polyamide is one of the main materials used to make the body of the sock, due to the great adaptability offered by this type of fabric.

The density chosen for the medium-density elastane yarn coated with polyamide will preferably be between 100 and 300 deniers.

As for the high-density elastane thread coated with polyamide, it aims to define muscle compression zones. It is specifically designed to be implanted in the tibial region, in the form of a tubular or annular portion that exerts compression in said area in a manner similar to that of a compression garment. The density of this fabric will preferably be between 400 and 600 deniers.

In parallel, the use of reinforcing thread, based on twisted two-strand polyamide, has been planned to form a padded area as reinforcement.

These reinforcements can be distributed over the heel and toe area, as well as the pre-heel area that affects the ankle and Achilles tendon.

This material could also affect the sole area of the foot, so that it covers your step without being present in the arch area to improve freedom of movement.

According to the essence of the invention, the sock of the invention has:

- a main section, which extends across the instep of the sock and part of the shaft;

- a plantar sector coinciding with the region of the plantar arch of the sole of the sock;

- a section covering the upper end of the sock shaft;

- a toe section to accommodate the toes and which extends internally through the metatarsal area;

- a rear section extending superiorly from the plantar surface of the heel of the sock to cover at least the Achilles heel area; and finally,

- an annular sector in the tibia area.

Thus, taking into account the different functionalities described for the recommended sock, the different sectors present the following composition:

- the main sector, the plantar sector and the extreme sector comprise recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, elastane yarn coated with antibacterial polyamide and medium-density elastane yarn, i.e. a density between 100 and 300 deniers, coated with polyamide, which provides optimal adaptability of the sock to the morphology of the foot, ensuring breathability and hygiene;

- The toe and rear sections are made of recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, polyamide coated elastane yarn antibacterial and twisted two-ply polyamide as a reinforcement thread, a configuration that provides the necessary protection to the toe, heel (even reaching the ankle) and the areas of the sole of the sock where these sectors extend, additionally providing an anti-slip effect;

- The annular section comprises recycled, continuous six-channel taslanized polyester, elastane yarn coated with antibacterial polyamide, and high-density elastane yarn, i.e. a density between 400 and 600 deniers, coated with polyamide, which provides the compression required in that area.

As for the sock's configuration, it will be different for the left and right feet, specifically symmetrical, since morphologically, the ankle is positioned more forward on its inner side than on the outer side of the foot. Thus, the rear section that extends superiorly from the plantar surface of the heel of the sock, covering the heel and extending to at least the Achilles tendon, also partially extends on both sides of the sock. This extension on the side of the sock's rear section is greater on the inner side of the foot than on the outer side, in order to also cover the inner side of the ankle. This contributes to its protection thanks to the presence of the double-strand twisted polyamide reinforcement thread, which prevents the foot from slipping or turning outwards during sports.

Finally, it should be noted that the sock optionally incorporates threads of anti-slip material in various sections in addition to those described above. Specifically, the sock optionally features two lateral sections adjacent to the toe area, two posterior lateral sections adjacent to the rear area, and/or a minimum of two quadrants located in the forefoot and rearfoot areas of the plantar fascia.

These lateral sections and plantar quadrants are made of recycled, continuous six-channel taslanized polyester, elastane yarn coated with antibacterial polyamide, medium-density elastane yarn, and anti-slip yarn. Their function is to prevent the foot from slipping inside the boot. When worn barefoot, the anti-slip yarn prevents slipping.

The anti-slip thread is preferably a non-slip polyester thread coated with polyamide.

This creates an ideal sock for sports such as soccer, optimizing its performance in terms of comfort, adaptability, breathability, moisture wicking, antibacterial properties, durability, muscle compression, and anti-slip properties.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

In view of the figures shown, it can be observed how in an exemplary embodiment the sock of the invention is constituted from a textile body, in which a main sector (1) and a larger one are defined, a plantar sector (2), an upper end sector (3) of the sock shaft, a toe sector (4), two front lateral sectors [(5), (5')] adjacent to the toe sector (4), a rear sector (7) that extends from the central part of the sole of the sock in the heel area to the rear area thereof, covering the Achilles heel area and an annular sector (8) that is arranged in the tibia area, protecting it. Based on this structure, it is anticipated that different types of textile materials will be used in the different sectors described, depending on the intended functionalities for each sector:

More specifically, the materials used in each sector are the following:

Main sector (1), plantar (2) and upper end (3):

- Recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester.

- Elastane thread coated with antibacterial polyamide.

- Medium-density elastane thread coated with polyamide, which offers great adaptability in these sectors, presenting a preferred density of 235 deniers.

Toe sector (4) and rear sector (7):

- Recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester.

- Elastane thread coated with antibacterial polyamide.

- Twisted two-strand polyamide for the formation of a padded area as reinforcement.

Lateral sectors [(5), (5’)] adjacent to the toe sector (4), rear lateral sectors [(6), (6’)] and quadrants (9):

- Recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester.

- Elastane thread coated with antibacterial polyamide.

- Medium density elastane thread coated with polyamide.

- Non-slip thread. Annular sector (8) in the tibia area:

- Recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester.

- Elastane thread coated with antibacterial polyamide.

- High-density elastane yarn coated with polyamide, used as a compression fabric, with a preferred density of 500 deniers.

As previously mentioned, recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester improves the appearance of the yarns and facilitates their weaving process, offering a highly resistant natural fiber appearance that facilitates the escape/expulsion of external moisture.

The elastane yarn coated with antibacterial polyamide includes ionic silver salt, providing antibacterial properties to the sock.

Finally, regarding the anti-slip thread, this will preferably be a non-slip polyester thread coated with polyamide, consisting of 75% polyester and 25% polyamide.

Claims

1 ^a.- Technical sock for sportsmen, characterized in that it comprises a main sector (1), a plantar sector (2), an upper extreme sector (3) of the sock shaft, a toe sector (4) that extends partially and internally through the metatarsal area, a rear sector (7) that extends superiorly from the plantar surface of the heel of the sock to cover, at least, the Achilles heel area, and an annular sector (8) in the tibia area, where: - the main sector (1), the plantar sector (2) and the upper extreme sector (3) comprise recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, elastane yarn coated with anti-bacterial polyamide and elastane yarn with a density of between 100 and 300 deniers which is coated with polyamide, - the toe sector (4) and the rear sector (7) comprise recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, elastane yarn coated with anti-bacterial polyamide and twisted two-strand polyamide, and - the annular sector (8) comprises recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, elastane yarn coated with anti-bacterial polyamide and elastane yarn with a density between 400 and 600 deniers coated with polyamide. 2 ^a.- Technical sock for athletes, according to claim 1 ^a , characterized in that it has two front side sectors [(5), (5')] adjacent to the toe sector (4), where said side sectors [(5), (5')] comprise recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, elastane thread coated with antibacterial polyamide, medium-density elastane thread and anti-slip thread. 3 ^a.- Technical sock for athletes, according to claim 1 ^a , characterized in that it has two rear side sectors [(6), (6')] adjacent to the rear sector (7), where said rear side sectors [(6), (6')] comprise recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, elastane thread coated with anti-bactehana polyamide, medium-density elastane thread and anti-slip thread. 4 ^a.- Technical sock for athletes, according to claim 1 ^a , characterized in that it has at least two quadrants (9) on the sole of the sock, where said quadrants (9) comprise recycled taslanized continuous six-channel polyester, elastane yarn coated with antibacterial polyamide, medium density elastane yarn and anti-slip yarn. 5 ^a.- Technical sock for athletes, according to claims 2 ^a to 4 ^a , characterized in that the anti-slip yarn is a polyester yarn coated with polyamide. 6 ^a.- Technical sock for athletes, according to claim 5 ^a , characterized in that the non-slip polyester thread coated with polyamide contains 75% polyester and 25% polyamide.
