Abstract

The present invention relates to a pad for a fingernail, comprising: a protective area (A) placed under the fingernail (L) in the concave area of the fingernail when it extends beyond the length of the tip (F) of the finger (E); and fastening means for fastening the protective area (A) to the fingernail (L) and/or to the finger (E). The protective area (A) preferably covers at least the distal area (C) of the fingernail. The means for fastening to the fingernail can be varied, employing elasticity or one or more points for fastening to the nail. The fastening means for fastening the protective area (A) to the fingernail (E) preferably comprises one or more fastening points to the distal phalanx of the finger, either covering the entire phalanx or leaving the fingertip exposed.

DESCRIPTION

NAIL PAD

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The invention, as expressed in the title of this specification, relates to a nail pad that provides advantages and features, which are described in detail below.

The object of the present invention is a pad consisting of a sheath or other support and a protective area under the nail. This pad may be made of a padded material or other material. This pad is designed to facilitate working with long nails, for example, when using a computer keyboard or touchscreen, or playing an instrument, or for other actions. The pad may also incorporate metal or electrical mechanisms. This pad adapts to all types of nails, whether in width or length.

FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION

The field of application of the present invention falls within the sector of the industry dedicated to the manufacture of articles of daily use.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The shape of the long nail and its contact surface make it difficult to perform certain tasks, such as typing on a computer keyboard or touch screen. The main purpose of the present invention is to provide comfort when performing certain tasks with long nails.

On the other hand, and as a reference to the current state of the art, after carrying out a study, at least by the applicant, the existence of any other nail pad, or any other similar invention or application tool, has not been found, nor that it presents equal or similar technical, structural or constitutive characteristics. to those claimed here.

EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION

The nail pad proposed by the invention is configured as an optimal solution to the aforementioned objective, the characterizing details that make it possible and distinguish it being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description.

Specifically, the pad proposed by the invention, as noted above, has a sheath or other attachment and a protective area located under the nail, which may be a cushioned material. This helps to relieve the tension created by having to place the fingers in uncomfortable positions and achieve the sensation of lengthening the fingertips, making it impossible to forget that one has long nails. This means that the padding under the nail acts as a fingertip or even performs other actions, depending on the material used. Thus, for example, if metal is included in the protective area under the nail, the pad of the invention may allow for cutting or piercing actions. If an electronic device is incorporated into the protective area, the pad may vibrate or heat up. If an internal cooling liquid is included in the material of the protective area, the pad may be used to cool whatever is being touched.

The material in this area under the nail can protect even the sharpest, distal and front part of the nail.

The nail pad of the invention is adaptable to the width and length of the nail, and different versions have been provided, in terms of size, so that the user can decide which best fits their nail. In addition, there is a version of the pad of the invention that can be trimmed by the user to fit their nail.

The pad of the invention is classified according to:

- the measurements of the protective area located under the nail:

- nail width, - nail length,

- thickness of the protective material under the nails or protective area;

- and the level of grip of the pad on the finger:

- a basic and simpler model, in which the support only strictly covers the nail area and adheres to it by the elasticity of the material or by one or several points of support to the nail,

- a medium-support model, where the support incorporates support to the distal phalanx of the finger, by one or more support points, either covering the entire phalanx or leaving the fingertip exposed,

- a model where the holding material has one or several points of attachment to the distal phalanx or the middle phalanx of the finger or to both at the same time.

The main advantages of the invention are summarized as follows:

• The invention provides comfort in performing actions that are performed with long nails.

• The ergonomics of the invention facilitate its use.

• Nails are protected.

• Tension in the fingers caused by posture is relaxed.

Features of the invention:

• The invention is completely ergonomic, comfortable, easy to put on and take off.

• The invention does not fall from its position or move during use.

• The invention is made of skin-friendly materials that do not react with nail coating products.

• The invention does not impede blood circulation during use.

• The invention, although described in the singular for a single fingernail, is logically designed to be used with ten pads, one for each finger. Furthermore, although it is called a pad, the material of the protective area may or may not be padded, depending on its function.

• The protective area that remains under the nail, that is, in contact with the concave area of the nail, can be made of different materials that will be chosen depending on depending on the intended function of the invention. The material used in the protective area can be TPU, silicone, foam, a cushioning material, a material with a certain flexibility, or a conductive material.

• The protective area may be padded or may be solid or may be hollow or may contain an electronic device or a liquid product (e.g., a cosmetic or a medical or other material).

• The protective zone is connected to the fastening depending on the model.

• The attachment to the finger or nail can be made of elastic, textile, silicone, plastic, metal or other suitable material.

• The invention may offer versions decorated with stones, feathers, hair, metals or other types of decorations.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

In view of the aforementioned figures, different non-limiting embodiments of the nail pad of the invention can be observed, which comprises what is described in detail below, with each of the different elements being indicated in said figures according to the following list of references:

A - Protective area of the pad.

B - Upper part holding the pad that covers the nail, made of flexible, thin material that adapts to the nail.

C - Distal part of the protective zone, which covers the distal area of the nail.

D- Dotted line, to cut the pad material.

E- Finger.

F- Fingertip

G - Holding part of the pad that covers the fingertip, the material has minimal thickness, it is very thin, it can be made of conductive material.

H - Holding part of the pad made of elastic, thin, and ergonomic material.

Thus, as can be seen in said figures, the nail pad object of the invention is essentially formed by:

- a protective area (A) with a material that is placed under the nail (L), in the concave area of said nail, when it exceeds the length of the tip (F) of the finger (E), and

- a holding area that holds the pad to the nail (L) or the finger (E) or both.

The material of the protective zone (A) is a material:

- which can be padded,

- who can be a driver,

- which can be light,

- which must be harmless to the skin,

- which can be adapted to the width and length of the nail, and

- which can be self-trimmed so that the user can adapt the pad to the size of their nail.

For its part, the area where the pad is held to the nail (L) can be held:

- to the upper area of the nail by one or several points, or

- to the distal phalanx of the finger by one or several points, or

- to the middle phalanx of the finger by one or several points, or

- both phalanges at the same time, or

- to the upper area of the nail and to one or both phalanges.

The pad has different functions depending on the material of the protective area (A) placed under the nail, and can perform the following functions:

- cushioning;

- protection;

- stuffed;

- support for other materials, for example, metals, which will have different functions such as: cutting, drilling, nailing, filing; - container for different materials such as: medicines, cosmetics, cooling liquid, electronic device: that vibrates, that heats or that transmits signals.

In Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4 you can see a basic elastic model of the pad of the invention drawn, which is held by the simple elasticity of the material to the nail (L), where the upper holding part (B) will be thinner, and the lower part is the protective area (A), in this case padded.

We see a dotted line (D) that gives the user the option to cut the material to achieve the desired measurement.

Figure 1 is for rounder nails and offers a different width than the model in figure 2 for square-tipped nails.

In these models the protective area (A) manages to cover the distal (C) and anterior part of the nail.

In figures 16 and 17, another example can be seen that corresponds to a model in which the holding area covers the nail (I), covers the fingertip (F) as well, and covers the entire distal phalanx of the finger (E).

The example in figure 16 is for a rounded nail and the one in figure 17 is for a square nail.

In the example of figures 16a and 16b, the user is offered a different length of protective zone (A) for a rounded nail, and in the example of figures 17a and 17b, a different length of protective zone (A) for a square nail.

In the example in figure 5 and figure 6, the pad, in addition to the protective area (A), has as a support area a support to the distal phalanx (P) of the finger, for example, a ring, which leaves the area of the fingertip (F) exposed, for example to scroll with the mouse having 100% touch of the fingertip.

In the example in figure 5 the protective zone (A) of the pad gives the option of being cuttable (D) so that the user can decide the length of the padded protective area (A) required for the length of their nail.

In the example in Figure 7 and Figure 8, there are two areas of support for the pad that leave the fingertip (F) exposed: one for support to the distal phalanx (P) and one for support to the middle phalanx (Q) of the finger. Figure 9 shows a model with this double support, also in the form of a ring and with the fingertip (F) exposed, when using the mouse.

In any case, the pad also includes lateral fasteners (O) between the protective area (A) and the distal phalanx fasteners (P).

In addition, the pad may include decorative elements.

Figures 10 and 11 are examples of a model of the pad with decorative stones (I).

Figures 12 and 13 are examples of a model of the pad with decorative hairs (J).

Figures 14 and 15 are examples of a model of the pad with decorative feathers (K).

Figures 18 and 19 are an example of a pad model where a metal ring (N) is used as the fastening material.

In figure 20 and figure 21, an arrow shows the direction from which the finger enters through the clamping ring to the distal phalanx (P) or metal (N), to place the nail on the protective area (A), although in other models the placement method may be different.

In figure 22 and figure 22-A another example can be seen where the pad has, as a fastening area, two fastening points to the nail (L), which can be made of one piece (figure 22) or can be made of two pieces that are joined together (figure 22-A).

In the example in figure 23, the pad has two attachment points to the nail (L), by means of two strips with Velcro. In addition, the pad can have different designs.

Figure 24, figure 25 and figure 26 are the same model of the pad taken from different points of view, which has metal chains as decoration.

Figure 27 is a model of the invention taken from the dorsal viewpoint of the finger with a “shirt and tie” design.

Figure 28 is a model of the “shirt and tie” invention taken from the palmar point of view, showing the uncovered fingertip (F).

Figure 29 is a model of the pad of the invention with a sharp metal (V) in the form of a sharp blade that is adhered to the protective area (A) of the pad under the nail.

Figure 30 is a model of the invention with a sharp metal (U) in the protective area (A) that can be used to pierce or nail another material.

And figure 31 is a model of the invention with a product container material (T) inside the protective area under the nail (L), in this case cooling liquid which, if frozen, allows cooling what is touched with that pad, having provided an insulating material (S) of separation with the tip (F) of the finger.

In a preferred embodiment of the pad of the invention, a flexible, relatively light, soft, and spongy material is chosen, which is also harmless in contact with the skin and a conductive material for typing on touch screens. This material is used to create the protective area (A) of the pad, which is placed under the inner area of the nail (L).

This padded protective area (A) will be connected to the sides of the nail (L), by means of lateral fasteners (O), with a material that will go up both sides of the nail (L) towards the upper area of the nail, and may be of the same material that was used to make the padded protective area (A), but of a lesser thickness. This connection to the upper area of the nail connects, in turn, with a ring that embraces and surrounds the distal phalanx (p) of the finger, and which is of the same material that was used for the protective area (A) and the side fasteners (O).

The entire pad's grip is ergonomic, comfortable, and should not squeeze the finger or impede blood circulation, but it should not be so loose that the pad moves when used.

Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to explain it further so that any expert in the field can understand its scope and the advantages derived from it.

Claims

1.- Nail pad characterized by comprising: - a protective zone (A) placed under the nail (L), in the concave area of said nail when it exceeds the length of the tip (F) of the finger (E); and - means for fastening the protective area (A) to the nail (L) and/or the finger (E). 2.- Nail pad, according to claim 1, characterized in that the protective zone (A) covers the distal zone (C) of the nail. 3.- Nail pad, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the means of fastening the protective area (A) to the nail (L) are by means of elasticity or by means of one or more points of fastening to the nail. 4.- Nail pad, according to any of claims 1-2, characterized in that the means of fastening the protective area (A) to the finger (E) comprise one or several fastening points to the distal phalanx of the finger, either covering the entire phalanx or leaving the fingertip exposed. 5.- Nail pad, according to any of claims 1-2, characterized in that the means of fastening the protective area (A) to the finger (E) comprise one or more fastening points to the distal phalanx or the middle phalanx of the finger or to both at the same time. 6.- Nail pad, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the means for fastening the protective area (A) to the nail (L) comprise strips with a Velcro. 7.- Nail pad, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the means for fastening the protective area (A) to the finger (E) comprise a ring for fastening to the distal phalanx (P) and/or a ring for fastening to the middle phalanx (Q). 8.- Nail pad, according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the protective area (A) is made of a cuttable material (D).
