La présente invention concerne un système d'étanchéité pour récipients conçus pour le transport et/ou le stockage de liquides, ledit système comprenant une capsule d'étanchéité (1) conçue pour être retenue dans tout récipient comprenant un col (2) avec des moyens de retenue (3, 4). La capsule d'étanchéité (1) entre ou sort verticalement du col (2) en faisant passer lesdits moyens de retenue (3, 4) à travers les cavités latérales (5, 6) situées au niveau de la partie inférieure de ladite capsule d'étanchéité (1). En effectuant une rotation à 90° de ladite capsule d'étanchéité (1) dans le sens horaire ou dans le sens antihoraire par rapport à l'axe d'insertion de la capsule d'étanchéité (1) dans le col (2), il est possible d'alterner entre une position de fermeture et une position d'ouverture du récipient. La capsule d'étanchéité (1) peut éventuellement présenter, fixée à sa surface inférieure, de manière concentrique et le long d'un axe vertical, un élément d'étanchéité (8) ou un film de silicone.
