Abstract
A protocol for vat polymerization 3-D printing a prosthetic having multiple materials includes designing a model of a prosthetic formed of multiple materials; utilizing slicing software to divide the model of the prosthetic into a plurality of layers forming the prosthetic, and creating printer control set for each layer that defines the type of material forming each layer and the area to be polymerized to form the layer, wherein the printer control sets includes layers of at least two different materials; and printing the prosthesis in a vat polymerization system using the printer control set, wherein the printer will pause at each layer having a material different from the preceding layer, wherein multiple vats of different material are provided wherein the material is replaced to provide for the next layer's newly designated material by replacing the current vat with a separate vat with the material for the next layer.
