Definitions

  • This present invention generally relates to liquid compositions, and more specifically, this invention relates to a liquid composition for enhancing quality of life through a delivery system of functional gas in the form of nanobubbles.
  • Free radicals are molecules with unpaired electrons and exhibit high reactivity. They play a crucial role in several physiological processes, acting as mediators in intercellular communication systems to the immune system. These free radicals need to be regulated to function optimally in maintaining cell functions, protecting against infections, mediating the regulation of cellular communication quality, neural tissue functions, and overall maintaining the homeostasis of life systems.
  • the control of free radicals in the body is carried out by natural antioxidants in the form of enzyme systems or metabolite products such as hydrogen molecules, in addition to various complex compounds that are generally complex organic compounds. This control system regulates the amount of free radicals in alignment with normal physiological needs.
  • Oxidative stress can be caused by habits such as engaging in activities that do not align with the body’s biological clock, stress, and excessive consumption of chemical products like cosmetics, and food and drinks containing synthetic ingredients. Oxidative stress can lead to adverse effects such as premature aging and the pathological development of degenerative diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, atherosclerosis, and others.
  • SOD superoxide dismutase
  • GPx glutathione peroxidase
  • H2 hydrogen
  • I/R ischemia/reperfusion
  • H2 hydrogen
  • H2 has capabilities beyond reducing the accumulation of free radicals, such as enhancing the activity of antioxidant enzymes in wound tissue, thereby accelerating wound healing.
  • H2 also has the ability to suppress inflammation, regulate the body's immune system, and decrease apoptosis (cell death).
  • Hydrogen is an element abundantly found in the universe. In its normal state, hydrogen exists as a gas with a very light molecular weight. However, hydrogen has a very low solubility in water (Shafanov&Khitrin, 2013) and easily escapes from solutions. Therefore, to improve the stability and solubility of hydrogen, nano bubble technology is employed.
  • Hydrogen nano bubbles are smaller than 400 nm, which is below the average size of a cell.
  • the H2 molecules within the nano bubbles can remain stable for a long period, up to eight years of storage. Due to their high stability, hydrogen nano bubbles are extensively utilized in the health sector.
  • Research conducted by Kato et al. (2015) has shown that solutions containing hydrogen nano bubbles are more effective at neutralizing *OH free radicals than regular hydrogen solutions. Additionally, it has been reported that hydrogen nano bubbles are effective in reducing inflammation levels and suppressing adipogenesis (the formation of fat cells or tissues) (Li et al., 2020; Xiao & Miwa, 2021).
  • Hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) is a molecule that is naturally produced in the body as a byproduct of oxygen metabolism. It is catalyzed by the enzymes peroxidase and catalase, which break down H 2 02into water and free oxygen ions. Hydrogen peroxide is a ubiquitous molecule and is abundant in nature (Halliwell et al., 2000). In 1888, H 2 O 2 was reported to have been used in therapies for healing diseases such as dengue fever, diphtheria, nasal mucosa inflammation, cough, asthma fever, and tonsillitis (Love, 1888). Hydrogen peroxide infusions were able to address influenza pneumonia epidemics following World War I (Oliver et al., 1920).
  • H 2 O 2 was considered a dangerous molecule to human body tissues. Although its use has sparked controversy in alternative medicine, H 2 O 2 is often regarded as a toxic molecule to various life systems. For instance, it can cause severe pathological conditions such as cancer, ischemia, and neurodegenerative diseases. Nevertheless, scientific evidence has reported a positive role of H 2 O 2 in biological processes, for example, in regulating the immune system to combat bacteria and viruses (Halliwell et al., 2000). The role of H 2 O 2 depends on its concentration within the cells. At low concentrations, H 2 O 2 can act as a signaling molecule to regulate cellular processes and survival.
  • cardiovascular system which consists of the heart, blood vessels, and blood.
  • the cardiovascular system is crucial for transporting nutrients and oxygen-rich blood to all body cells and returning deoxygenated blood back to the lungs. Any disruption in this system can lead to impaired transport processes, causing cells to suffer from a lack of nutrients and oxygen, which can eventually affect the performance of body organs. This impairment can decrease an individual's quality of life.
  • One factor that can disrupt the cardiovascular system is the presence of high cholesterol levels in the blood, typically resulting fromunhealthy dietary habits, such as consuming foods high in saturated fats and low in fiber. Additionally, lifestyle factors like insufficient physical activity also contribute to high cholesterol levels. Elevated blood cholesterol can lead to the formation of plaque along the walls of blood vessels.

Moreover, hydrogen molecules can correct neural imbalances by suppressing an overly active sympathetic nervous system and enhancing the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, which occurs concurrently with the blood pressure-lowering effect (Sugai et al., 2020).
