Description
ASSEMBLY FOR FIXING A PROP TO A GRID-LIKE STRUCTURE FOR THE PROVISION OF FLOOR SLABS
The present invention relates to an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs.
Nowadays, for providing concrete floor slabs, formwork panels with lengths in the order of 25 m and casting surfaces of up to 150 m2 are widely used.
Such formwork panels are made by coupling grid-like structures, such as trusses, to props for resting on the ground.
Secondary beams are arranged above the grid-like structures, to support panels adapted to define the casting surface.
Such prior art has a number of drawbacks.
In fact the coupling between props and grid-like structures is done using fixing elements such as bolts, and this results in a procedure to assemble and disassemble the formwork that is long and inconvenient.
The aim of the present invention is to provide an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that is capable of improving the known art in one or more of the above-mentioned aspects.
Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that enables construction of formwork that is easier and quicker with respect to what occurs in the prior art.
Another object of the invention is to provide an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that necessitates a limited number of bolts and in any case a fewer number of bolts than are used in similar solutions in the prior art.
A further object of the invention is to provide an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that allows the fully assembled formwork to be lifted and shifted, in order to speed up its use on the site.
Furthermore, the present invention sets out to overcome the drawbacks of the background art in a manner that is alternative to any existing solutions.
Another object of the invention is to provide an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that is highly reliable, easy to implement, and at low cost.
This aim and these and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by an assembly for fixing a prop to a gridlike structure for the provision of floor slabs, said assembly being characterized in that it comprises in the following order:
- a first fixing portion to be associated with said grid-like structure and with the upper end of said prop,
- a post, extending between said first fixing portion and a second fixing portion,
- said second fixing portion, arranged below said first fixing portion, to be associated with said prop and with said grid-like structure, said second fixing portion comprising means for quick coupling to said prop.
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent from the detailed description that follows of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of the assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs, according to the invention, which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings wherein:

With reference to Figures 1 to 6, an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs, according to the invention, in a first embodiment, is generally designated by the reference numeral 10.
Figures 1 and 2 show a use application of a plurality of fixing assemblies 10, according to the invention, which connect a respective prop
11 to a respective grid-like structure 12 constituted by a truss.
In particular, the fixing assembly 10 comprises in the following order:
- a first fixing portion 13 to be associated with the grid-like structure
12 and with the upper end of a prop 11,
- a post 14, extending between the first fixing portion 13 and a second fixing portion 15,
- such second fixing portion 15, arranged below the first fixing portion 13 to be associated with the prop 11 and with the grid-like structure 12, such second fixing portion 15 comprising means 16 for quick coupling to the prop 11.
In the present description, the terms “upper”, “lower”, “above”, “below”, etc., refer to the configuration for use of the fixing assembly 10.
The expression “quick coupling means” in the present description means coupling means that do not require the use of a tool in order to be closed or opened.
The first fixing portion 13 comprises:
- a plate 17, arranged on a plane that is at right angles to the axis of extension of the post 14 and provided with first through holes 21 for the insertion of fixing screws (not shown in the figures) at the upper end of the prop 11,
- a first bracket 18, arranged above the plate 17 to be associated with the grid-like structure 12, such first bracket 18 having a substantially C- shaped cross-section with the core 19 of the C-shape arranged parallel to the axis of extension of the post 14 and being provided with a plurality of second holes 20 for the insertion of screws (not shown in the figures) for fixing to the grid-like structure 12,
- two flaps 22a, 22b, which are mirror-symmetrical with respect to the sagittal plane of symmetry of the fixing assembly 10, which have a an L- shaped cross-section, such flaps 22a, 22b extending from the plate 17, below it,
- two first appendages 24a, 24b, which are mirror- symmetrical with respect to the sagittal plane of symmetry of the fixing assembly 10, such first appendages 24a, 24b extending from the plate 17, below it, and being each provided with a third through hole 25a, 25b for the insertion of a first
pin 26,
- a raised portion/pin 27, extending from the plate 17, at right angles to it and below it, such raised portion/pin 27 having an axis of extension that lies substantially on the sagittal plane of symmetry of the fixing assembly 10, and being adapted to center the upper plate 23 of the prop 11.
The term “sagittal plane”, in the present description, means the plane that runs in the fore-and-aft direction dividing a body into two parts, right and left.
The first bracket 18 is integral with and fixed to the post 14.
The flaps 22a, 22b define an insertion seat for the upper plate 23 of the prop 11.
The first pin 26 has an L-shaped extension with a first core 29 and a first wing 30, and is provided with a first lug 28 which is arranged at right angles to the axis of extension of the first core 29 proximate to its free end.
Advantageously, at least one third hole 25b has an edge which is shaped so as to:
- allow the passage of the first core 29 with the first lug 28, when the latter is arranged in a preset position,
- produce an interference with the first lug 28, so preventing the removal of the first pin 26 from such third hole 25b, when the first lug 28 is arranged in a position other than the preset one.
The first lug 28 has an axis of extension that lies on a plane which is parallel to the plane of arrangement of the axis of extension of the first wing 30, and rotated with respect to it.
In this manner, after inserting the first core 29 with the first lug 28 into the third hole 25b, by virtue of the force of gravity, the first wing 30 is arranged vertically, below the first core 29, as a consequence rotating the latter and shifting the first lug 28 so as to produce an interference between the first lug 28 and the edge of the third hole 25b.
The second fixing portion 15 comprises:
- a second bracket 31 to be associated with the grid-like structure 12, such second bracket 31 having a substantially C-shaped cross-section with the core 32 of the C- shape arranged parallel to the axis of extension of the post 14 and being provided with a plurality of fourth through holes 33 for the insertion of screws (not shown in the figures) for fixing to the grid-like structure 12,
- the means 16 for quick coupling to the prop 11, constituted by a clamp provided with:
- a fixed part 34, extending monolithically with the second bracket 31,
- a jaw 35, which is hinged to the fixed part 34 and can move on a plane that is at right angles to the axis of extension of the post 14.
The jaw 35 has two parallel arc-like elements 36, which lie on planes that are at right angles to the axis of extension of the post 14, and which are at least partially shaped complementarily to the profile of the prop 11 , and which have:
- a first end 37, coupled to the fixed part 34,
- a second end 38, with a fifth through hole 39.
Each fifth hole 39 is adapted to correspond to a respective sixth through hole 40, which is provided on the fixed part 34, for the insertion of a second pin 41.
The second pin 41 has an L-shaped extension with a second core 42 and a second wing 43, and is provided with a second lug 44 which is arranged at right angles to the axis of extension of the second core 42 proximate to its free end.
Advantageously, each fifth hole 39 and each sixth hole 40 has an edge which is shaped so as to:
- allow the passage of the second core 42 with the second lug 44, when the latter is arranged in a preset position,
- produce an interference with the second lug 44, so preventing the removal of the second pin 41 from the fifth hole 39 and from the sixth hole
40 when the second lug 44 is arranged in a position other than the preset one.
The post 14 is fixed:
- at a first end, to the first fixing portion 13,
- at a second end, which is opposite to the preceding one, to the second fixing portion 15.
In particular, the post 14 has a C-shaped cross-section with:
- a core 45 which faces and is in contact with the core 19 of the first bracket 18 and with the core 32 of the second bracket 31,
- two mirror-symmetrical wings 46a, 46b, each one provided with two or more seventh through holes 47, for the insertion of screws for fixing to corresponding diagonal elements 48 for mutually stabilizing two parallel grid-like structures 12, as shown in Figure 2.
In particular, each one of such wings 46a, 46b, of the post 14 has seventh holes 47, proximate to/at its longitudinal ends.
Advantageously, once the assembly 10 is fixed to the grid-like structure 12, the post 14 acts as a post of that grid-like structure 12.
The fixing assembly 10 is also provided with two tension members 49a, 49b which are mirror- symmetrical with respect to its sagittal plane of symmetry, each one extending between the plate 14 and a respective second appendage 50a, 50b of the second bracket 31, the latter protruding toward the outside of a respective wing of the second bracket 31.
Such tension members 49a, 49b have an axis of extension that is inclined with respect to the axis of extension of the post 14.
The use of the fixing assembly 10, according to the invention, is the following.
The assembly 10 is fixed to a grid-like structure 12, by associating:
- the first portion 13 with a first longitudinal member 51a of the gridlike structure 12, by means of screws inserted in the second holes 20,
- the second portion 15 with a second longitudinal member 51b of the
grid-like structure 12, by means of screws inserted in the fourth holes 33.
Then a prop 11 is associated with the assembly 10:
- by inserting the upper plate 23 of the prop 11 into the seat defined by the flaps 22a, 22b, and locking the prop 11 by means of the insertion of the first pin 26 into the third holes 25a, 25b,
- by closing the jaw 35 around the prop 11 and locking the prop 11 by means of the insertion of the second pin 41 into the fifth holes 39 and corresponding sixth holes 40.
It should be noted that the insertion of the upper plate 23 of the prop 11 into the seat defined by the flaps 22a, 22b makes it possible to keep the prop 11 integral with the grid-like structure 12 while the form work is being lifted and shifted.
In this manner it is possible to speed up the use on-site of formwork panels, with respect to similar, conventional solutions.
With reference to Figures 7a to 13 c, an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs, according to the invention, in a second embodiment, is generally designated by the reference numeral 110.

- two parallel and mirror- symmetrical second sides 173a, 173b interposed between the first sides 171a, 171b.
Advantageously, once the assembly 110 is fixed to the grid-like structure 112, the post 114 acts as a post of that grid-like structure 112.
The fixing assembly 110 furthermore has two tension members 149a, 149b, which are mirror- symmetrical with respect to its sagittal plane of symmetry, each one extending between a respective third bracket 163a, 163b and a corresponding wing 174a, 174b of the C-shape that constitutes
the cross-section of the second bracket 131.
Such tension members 149a, 149b have an axis of extension that is inclined with respect to the axis of extension of the post 114.
One of the peculiarities of the fixing assembly 110 consists in that it comprises at least one transverse element 175, 176 for connection to one or more diagonal elements 148 for mutually stabilizing (wind-bracing) two parallel grid-like structures 112, as shown in Figures 11 and 12.
In the example shown in the figures, the fixing assembly 110 comprises:
- a first transverse element 175, proximate to/at the first fixing portion 113,
- a second transverse element 176, proximate to/at the second fixing portion 115.
In particular, the first transverse element 175 comprises two first elongated portions 177a, 177b, which are mirror-symmetrical with respect to the sagittal plane of symmetry of the assembly 110, which extend from the post 114 at right angles to it, and which are closed at the respective free ends by a perforated first plate 178a, 178b.
Such first plate 178a, 178b is adapted for the insertion of a screw 179 for fixing one or more diagonal elements 148.
Advantageously, the two first elongated portions 177a, 177b are monolithic.
The second transverse element 175 comprises two second elongated portions 180a, 180b, which are mirror-symmetrical with respect to the sagittal plane of symmetry of the assembly 110, which extend from the post 114 at right angles to it, and which are closed at the respective free ends by a perforated second plate 181a, 181b.
Such second plate 181a, 181b is adapted for the insertion of a screw 182 for fixing one or more diagonal elements 148.
Advantageously, the two second elongated portions 180a, 180b are
monolithic.
The assembly 110 comprises a first angular element 183, with an L- shaped profile, arranged proximate to/at the first transverse element 175.
Such first angular element 183 has:
- a first side 184, associated with the post 114 at one of its first sides 171a,
- a second side 185, at right angles to the first side 184 and horizontal in the configuration for use, arranged below the plate 117, between the tension members 149a, 149b, such second side 185 having:
- a contoured second central hollow 186, adapted to allow form-fit coupling with some particular types of props 111, not shown in the figures, in order to improve the fixing thereto and prevent their rotation,
- one or more twelfth through holes 187, for the insertion of elements for fixing to some particular types of props 111, not shown in the figures.
The assembly 110 comprises a second angular element 188, with an L-shaped profile, arranged proximate to/at the second transverse element 176.
Such second angular element 188 has:
- a first side 189 associated with the core 132 of the second bracket 131,
- a second side 190, at right angles to the first side 189 and horizontal in the configuration for use, arranged parallel to the first side 184 of the first angular element 183 and below the second transverse element 176, such second side 190 having:
- a contoured third central hollow 191, adapted to allow form-fit coupling with some particular types of props 111, as shown in Figure 13b, in order to improve the fixing thereto and prevent their rotation,
- one or more thirteenth through holes 192, for the insertion of elements for fixing to some particular types of props 111, not shown in the figures.
Advantageously, the first angular element 183 and the second angular element 188 have the same dimensions and the second angular element 188 is contained inside the bulk defined by the wings 174a, 174b of the C-shape that constitutes the cross-section of the second bracket 131.
The use of the fixing assembly 110, according to the invention, is the following.
The assembly 110 is fixed to a grid-like structure 112, by associating:
- the first portion 113 with a first longitudinal member 151a of the grid-like structure 112, by means of screws inserted in the second holes 120,
- the second portion 115 with a second longitudinal member 151b of the grid-like structure 112, by means of screws inserted in the fourth holes 133.
Then a prop 111 is associated with the assembly 110:
- by inserting the upper plate 123 of the prop 111 into the seat defined by the two third brackets 163a, 163b, and by the recess/undercut S, and locking the prop 111 by means of the insertion of the first pin 126 into the third holes 125a, 125b,
- by closing the jaw 135 around the prop 111 and locking the prop 111 by means of the insertion of the second pin 141 into the fifth holes 139 and corresponding sixth holes 140.
With reference to Figures 13a to 13c, it should be noted that the second portion 115 of the assembly 110 allows coupling and fixing to various types of prop 111 available on the market, which have different cross-sections.
Optionally it is possible to further stabilize the grid-like structure 112 by fixing diagonal elements 148 to the cross-members 175, 176.
It should be noted that the insertion of the upper plate 123 of the prop 111 into the seat defined by the two third brackets 163a, 163b, and by the recess/undercut S, makes it possible to keep the prop 111 integral with the grid-like structure 112 while the form work is being lifted and shifted.
In this manner it is possible to speed up the use on-site of formwork panels, with respect to similar, conventional solutions.
In practice it has been found that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects by providing an assembly for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that enables construction of formwork that is easier and quicker with respect to what occurs in the prior art.
With the invention an assembly has been devised for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that necessitates a limited number of bolts and in any case fewer than are used in similar solutions in the prior art.
Also, with the invention an assembly has been provided for fixing a prop to a grid-like structure for the provision of floor slabs that allows the fully assembled formwork to be lifted and shifted, in order to speed up its use on the site.
The invention, thus conceived, is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims. Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.
In practice the materials employed, provided they are compatible with the specific use, and the contingent dimensions and shapes, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.
