Abstract

The present teaching relates to method, system, and medium for deformable alignment. 2D vessels are automatically detected from 2D images having anatomical structures captured by a camera inserted into a patient's body and directed to a target organ. A vessel label is obtained to at least one 2D vessel. A 3D vessel structure in a 3D model for the target organ is identified based on the detected 2D vessels. The 2D vessels are aligned with 3D vessels in the 3D vessel structure so that alignment parameters for each pair may be derived and used for visualizing 3D vessels corresponding to the detected 2D vessels.
