Definitions
- the present invention relates to a frailty plan creation support and recommended lifestyle suggestion device, a frailty/MCI/dementia prevention plan creation support and recommended lifestyle suggestion system, a frailty/MCI/dementia prevention plan creation support and recommended lifestyle suggestion method, and a frailty/MCI/dementia prevention plan creation support and recommended lifestyle suggestion program that create a frailty/MCI/dementia prevention plan tailored to the user and support the suggestion of a recommended lifestyle for frailty/MCI/dementia prevention.
- Frailty refers to a state in which the physical and mental functions and social connections of elderly people become weakened. If frailty is left untreated, it can lead to irreversible impairment of daily living functions, but intervention studies have confirmed that with appropriate measures, it can be restored to a healthy state (called robust) and that it is preventable. MCI is a state in which there is a problem with cognitive function but no interference with daily life; if left untreated, it can lead to dementia, but it has been reported that around 40% of cases are recoverable.
- the main criteria for determining frailty are the J-CHS criteria set by the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, which state that three or more of the following five items must apply to the individual: "(Unintentional) weight loss of 2 kg or more in six months,””Grip strength of less than 28 kg for men and less than 18 kg for women,””Feeling tired for no apparent reason,””Normal walking speed of less than 1.0 m/s,” and "To the questions, "Do you do light exercise/gymnastics, and/or regular exercise/sports?", each answer must be less than once a week.” These criteria are widely adopted in Japan.
- nutrition Three things are known to be effective in preventing frailty and MCI or recovering from frailty and MCI: nutrition, exercise, and social participation.
- nutrition it has been confirmed that food diversity, protein intake, and maintaining oral function are effective.
- exercise it has been confirmed that moderate-intensity leisure time activity and moderate-intensity transportation activity are effective.
- social participation it has been confirmed that frequency of going outside and volunteering at least once a month are effective.
- Patent Document 1 a prediction method as disclosed in Patent Document 1 and an action recommendation device and action recommendation method as disclosed in Patent Document 2 have been developed.

- the explanatory variables do not include depression level, oral function, muscle mass, etc., which contribute particularly greatly to the prediction, and the prediction cannot be said to be reliable.
- the technology described in Patent Document 1 predicts the risk of developing frailty, but the prediction method cannot be used to create appropriate advice for preventing frailty for each individual.
- Patent Document 2 proposes a method of recommending behavior to prevent frailty, but the recommended items are limited to recommended medical services, suggested walking routes, event information, suggested travel routes, softness of ingredients, changes in food quantity, changes in the intensity of exercise menus, ease of putting on and taking off clothes, ease of putting on and taking off shoes, and notification of non-compliance with advice, and the recommendation method does not include behavioral content that has a significant impact on frailty prevention, such as food diversity, protein intake, maintaining oral function, moderate leisure activity, moderate travel activity, frequency of going out, and participation in volunteer activities.
- behavioral content that has a significant impact on frailty prevention, such as food diversity, protein intake, maintaining oral function, moderate leisure activity, moderate travel activity, frequency of going out, and participation in volunteer activities.
- Patent Document 2 proposes a method for recommending actions to prevent frailty, but the recommended actions are based on the results of an assessment of the current level of frailty and are not based on a prediction of the risk of developing frailty in the future.
- the purpose of the present invention is to support the creation of evidence-based frailty, MCI, and dementia prevention plans that utilize past data and are suitable for maintaining and improving the user's condition, and to suggest recommended lifestyles.
- Another objective of the present invention is to make future predictions about an individual's physical condition and the state of nutrition, exercise, and social participation, and to use the predictions to determine appropriate behavioral changes in nutrition, exercise, and social participation, and to provide advice based on data evidence about the extent to which quantitative improvements should be made.

- the frailty check items were invented by the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Tokyo and include a simple method with 11 items and an in-depth check method with 25 items.
- One method involves having the user place a red sticker on items that indicate a risk and a blue sticker on items that do not apply, allowing for screening and raising awareness at the same time.
