Abstract

The present invention relates to a biocontrol agent dispensing device for bee biovectors comprising a housing having an first passage with an entry and exit for bees to enter a hive wherein the first passage further comprises one-way flaps at the exit such that bees exiting hive can't leave via the first passage, and a second passage with an entry and exit for bees to exit the hive wherein the biocontrol agent dispensing device further comprises, above the second passage, a mesh layer onto which a biocontrol agent powder may be loaded, such that in use, as bees exit through the second passage their movement disturbs the powder and it falls onto their bodies and the second passage floor, thereby coating the bees. The invention further relates to a method for delivery of a biocontrol agent to plants with the use of the bee biovector dispenser device.
