PEG, TEC, TA로 이루어진 페놀류 저감 물질이 소수성인 셀룰로오스 아세테이트에 첨가되는 경우, 페놀류 저감 물질은 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 섬유에 대하여 가소제 기능을 함께 수행하여 소수성인 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 섬유를 상호 결합시켜 생분해도를 저하시키는 문제점이 있다.
