Despite the importance of the health system in the world community and many scientific advances in medicine, burns are still one of the major problems, especially in developing countries. It has a special place. Even the first day of January has been named as the national day of burn prevention in the country. In our country, about thirty thousand people suffer from burns every year, and out of this number, three thousand people die, and every year three thousand It costs six hundred billion tomans for the country, which, regardless of the indirect costs, because it is a disability and family problems. Seeing this statistic makes the importance of dealing with effective drugs with the lowest cost and side effects more prominent. On the other hand, the skin has an important role in human beauty and protects the body against the invasion of external factors and has an effective role in its health (absorption of vitamin D, control of body temperature, etc.). The importance of skin in human beauty and health on the one hand and the high percentage of the possibility of burns and the side effects of chemical drugs and the cost of treatment on the other hand is the need to produce herbal medicines that have the least side effects with the highest antioxidant and antibacterial properties. So far, several researches have been done by researchers in this field.
So far, chemical drugs have improved to some extent, but sometimes due to the use of metals such as silver (such as sulfadiazine ointment, which is often used to treat burns), they have side effects and do not work well in controlling bacterial infections. In a situation where science has discovered the side effects of chemical drugs at any time and sometimes the drug that was considered useful in one period is harmful and banned at another time, burn ointment using 100% herbal ingredients containing of Henna, Plantago, Onosma dichroanthum Boiss, Barley flour, Starch, Pistacia lentiscus, Matricaria chamomilla, Dorema ammoniacum, Curcuma longa, Alcea, Urtica, Descurainia Sophia, Cedrus, Linum usitatissimum and Rubia tinctorum as dry matter and olive oil, ostrich oil, sesame oil, tail fat oil, pistacia Atlantica and honey wax. The topical application of this plant is common for the treatment of eczema, scabies, fungal infections, and wounds.
Henna is used in skin and hair lotions and is used to treat dandruff.
In traditional Indian medicine, henna root products are used to treat leprosy, dermatitis, amenorrhea, and dysmenorrhea.
The leaves of the plant are used to treat wounds, stomach ulcers, urinary tract irritation, cough, bronchitis, unilateral headaches, rheumatism, and anemia. The flowers of the henna plant are used for headaches, fever, and acute insanity. The seeds of the plant are used to treat periodontal fever, watery diarrhea, and dysentery.
Pharmacologically, henna is astringent due to its tannin and has diuretic, antibacterial and antifungal effects. It should be noted that antimicrobial effects are attributed to the color composition of henna. Henna is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibacterial, and disinfects and proliferates skin stem cells.
Plantago ovata
The nature of this plant is cold and its stew is laxative. In this ointment, Plantago ovata powder is used, which has anti-fever and chill properties due to its extremely cold nature, and relieves itching at the site of burns or wounds, and is very effective in treating blisters and mouth ulcers.
Starch
Or polymeric amylomic carbohydrates contain several glucose units that are joined together by a glycosidic bond. This polysaccharide is produced by most green plants as an energy store. It is the most common carbohydrate in human diets and is found in large amounts in major foods such as potatoes, corn, rice, and cassava, as well as in wheat grains, each of which produces white starch. Chemically complex organic compound of carbohydrates insoluble in cold water, alcohol, or other solvents. It is widely used in human food, other animals, and industry. Biochemically, starch is a polysaccharide consisting of two types of carbohydrate polymers called amylose and amylopectin (polysaccharides). The monomers of this polysaccharide are glucose units that bind to form alpha- and 4-bonds. The simplest amylose starch is a linear polymer. To identify starch, the same solution can be used as iodine povidone solution, which will change the color of the solution to blue during the oxidation reaction and reduction of starch and iodine.
Starch powder with soothing and anti-inflammatory properties in traditional medicine has always been used to improve inflammation, burns, and sweat (caused by excessive diapers) in infants, chickenpox, as well as relieving burning and itching of insect bites.
Starch is due to the presence of vitamins and minerals (starch powder contains fiber, calcium, iron, and B vitamins) and is a very useful substance for the skin. For this reason, it is used for many beauty masks and has a high restorative property, and its use makes the skin clear, fresh, and soft. One of the most important properties of starch, like camel's milk, is its ability to adhesion, which cleanses the skin and eliminates skin masses. Starch is also able to treat pimples and acne. Starch cleanses the skin of dead cells, dries pimples, and makes the skin look softer and more beautiful.
Matricaria chamomilla
Matricaria chamomilla is enriched by the terpenoid antioxidant group, which contains acetylene and camazoline derivatives. Because these compounds are delicate and unstable, they are preserved in the form of essential oils or alcoholic tinctures. Chamomile also contains several phenolic compounds such as flavonoids such as quercetin, apigenin, patoltin, and glucosides. Chamomile reduces inflammation by neutralizing free radical damage and also prevents cell mutations. It contains antioxidants that are associated with better immune system function, reducing pain and swelling. Chamomile reduces mood disorders and makes hair, skin, eyes, teeth, and nails healthier.
Chamomile is sometimes referred to as a herbal aspirin because it has been used as a pain reliever for centuries. Its flowers are used to reduce congestion, pain, redness, and swelling. This plant effectively reduces facial swelling, toothache, skin irritations and is the main treatment for inflammation and pain caused by infections. For this reason, chamomile extract is added to beauty products such as body or face lotions, bath soaps, and toothpaste. Chamomile helps reduce the natural pain associated with injuries, arthritis, fever, back pain, and pregnancy. This plant has the properties of reducing pain after childbirth and calming the body.
Chamomile provides healthy and smooth skin by providing antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It's oil and flavonoids penetrate beneath the surface of the skin, completing the youthful appearance of the skin and maintaining an immune defense. It has been used for centuries to treat wounds, bruises, gout, eczema, bruises, skin burns, gum ulcers, and burns. Chamomile also reduces the signs of aging such as fine lines, dark spots, reduces dandruff naturally, fades wounds, and heals chickenpox quickly. In addition, it is used as a treatment for skin rashes
Another known health benefit of chamomile is its anti-allergic effect. Clinical studies in rats prone to pruritus show that rats fed German chamomile showed far fewer symptoms than those not fed chamomile.
Chamomile extract may also be used as a component of ointments, creams, and gels used to combat skin irritations. Chamomile seems to have antimicrobial as well as antibacterial properties that are very useful for treating wounds, eczema, burns, bedsores, rashes, and hemorrhoids.
olive oil
This oil has many properties such that it has been used since ancient times, including its compounds phenol, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-clotting effects in the arteries. One study has shown the beneficial effects of phenol-rich olive oils on blood vessel function. Eating foods rich in phenolic compounds can improve cardiovascular health and have a protective effect on the heart.
It is narrated from the Holy Prophet that: Eat olive oil and lubricate yourself with it; Because there are seventy pains in that treatment, including leprosy. Also, Imam Ja'far Sadegh says: Eating flour beans with olive oil grows flesh, strengthens bones, thins the skin, and increases sexual potency. In superficial burns, rubbing the oil on the burn prevents blistering. Olive oil has long been used as a home skincare medicine. The Egyptians have used it along with beeswax as a cleanser, moisturizer, and antibacterial since the time of Pharaoh.
The use of olive oil in this ointment is due to its emollient properties and its effect in relieving dryness and cracking of the skin and preventing blisters.

Ostrich oil is absorbed quickly and provides the body with moisture for long hours. Chicken ostriches are herbivores, so there is no field of animal by-products, growth hormones, or antibiotics in their oil. Scientific research has shown that this animal oil contains omega 6, omega 3, and omega 9 fatty acids. These fatty acids are necessary for the human body to make proteins, and therefore this oil is known to be effective in regenerating and repairing wounds and burns, as well as removing facial wrinkles, and its molecular composition is almost similar to human skin.
This oil contains a large amount of oxygen and having such a substance increases blood circulation in the areas used and causes faster healing of wounds and burns, as well as soothing and restorative effects and enhances beauty.
Rubbing ostrich oil on the skin lesions of psoriasis and skin inflammations, which in ancient medicine were called quba, can reduce inflammation and the important point is that using this oil does not block skin pores and does not interfere with skin respiration.
The reason for using this oil in the present ointment is its anti-fungal, anti-itch, anti-dry and moisturizing, anti-wrinkle, anti-diabetic, and anti-eczema properties.

On the other hand, it is a perfect combination of all kinds of useful substances for the skin, so that its use in the place of burns causes the least possible effects to remain and in most cases, it will have no effect. It has natural painkillers and eliminates the need for painkillers. It also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In cases of burns, cuts, hair cyst resection, bed sores, diabetes, leishmaniasis, tattoos, suture infections, fissures, boils, facial pimples, first wash the wound with serum and sterile gauze or warm water and baby shampoo and cloth as long as no foreign matter (infection) remains and we reach the living cell (blood). If there is a lot of infection, it should be removed with a surgical razor, then we dry the surface completely. If the wound is hollow, we should first fill the wound with medicine, then apply the medicine on a special cloth (royal liner) and cut it to the size of the wound and put it on the place and close it with a bandage. We change the dressing every other day with the washing of the place and according to the above steps until complete recovery.
This ointment can be produced and used as an alternative to chemical drugs for burns as a completely natural and practical medicine in many cases for burn patients, people with bed sores, etc. in the medical, pharmaceutical and treatment industries. In the industrial production phase, sift and mix all the dry ingredients together and mix with the oils and heat for 2 hours, and after passing through a strainer, add the wax and turpentine and heat again for 30 minutes to obtain the desired ointment.
