Abstract
A spinal in-situ bender (10) is provided for bending an in-situ spinal rod (3). The in-situ bender (10) comprises: a shaft (11) defining a shaft axis, and a grip portion (23) at one end of the shaft (11). The in-situ bender (10) extends between a handling end (12) and an attachment end (13), which comprises a hook (16) with a passage for engaging with a spinal rod (3). The in-situ bender (10) further comprises a lever-based clamping mechanism (15) defining a locked state, in which the in-situ bender (10) is configured to clamp the spinal rod (3) within the hook (16), and an unlocked state, in which the in-situ bender (10) is configured to receive the spinal rod (3) within the hook (16) without clamping it. The clamping mechanism (15) is configured as a toggle clamp mechanism (14) or as a single-lever mechanism.
